I am on the waiting list at both La Perla stores, perhaps I should just wait on their call.

Seems a bit odd that one minute he hasn't got an XL and the next he's listed that exact size.

i have to agree with nightshooter, he does have 100% feedback and quite a few at that, anything you buy blind from ebay has its risks, it all depends how bad you want it.
one idea would be to mail him and ask if pickup on winning the bid would be ok, if hes genuine he shouldnt have a problem with that (even though you of course are not going to pick them up, you just want to see what his answer will be)

And if you watch the bidder's list, you can see, that someone with 0 feedback has been pushing the price after a "good" seller placed a bid.

I have found out the last couple of days, that Santa doesn't really exist, so I will better be careful on this one.

    It says Italian XL size.

Also he has posted photos of the actual item, although he doesn't accept paypal which is never a good sign.

just sent the seller a mail asking if it would be ok to pay cash on pickup, hes reply was "yes thats fine as long as they were picked up within 5 days from auction end"
i would say hes genuine, but dont hold me to that ;%
    i LOVE ebay :D

.... now he's keeping the bidder's list privately, so, it is more difficult so see, who is pushing the price.

If I want an item, I bid 95 or 96, if I don't want the item and just push the price, I am bidding 94,50. The same story with 79,79 118 and 138.

    Draw your own conclusions....

Hi, Has anyone been able to acquire a pair of Grigio Perla Trunks. I've been trying to purchase a S/M pair for months. I've just emailed Nicole at customercare@glamonweb.com who informs me that they should have more stock available in Feb. These will be available on their website. Hope this info is of help.

    Hi There,

This is my first post, I thought I'd make it useful - I was on Selfridges of London's long list of people to call when the swimsuit stock arrived but sadly was out of the country when it did. I popped in there at lunchtime today and guess what .. it is in stock! I bought mine for £55 - there are 3 more of them on the shelf all in XL, which fits my 36 waist quite neatly - (La Perla's website is quite vauge in terms of sizing and I was a little concerned) so anyone desperate for this (and in London) may want to pop in... good luck.

    Thanks Lakey,

I was going to purchase a pair, but does anyone have any idea how to interpret the sizes?

I'm 32" waist, but S/M/L/XL seems a bit vague, after looking at their size guide I'm even more confused. ?:) I could take a fair guess but still taking a bit of a gamble buying online.

I just noticed that medium has sold out already so I may be out of luck anyway. Oh well.

Medium or Large will fit you fine. I'm a 32 waist and when I spoke to the people at the LaPerla store, they told me either would fit me without a problem..
    Never fear the event

Hi Tyler, I've just received my pair, size S. I have 30/31in waist and they fit fine, not tight at all. You could email their customer support at infoglam@glamonweb.com if you have any questions. Good hunting

I just received mine, they're really nice. I ordered a large and I'd say a perfect fit for 32" waist.

I wouldn't want them any smaller, but I guess part of it is down to personal preference.

WTH, I had the XL and I'm a 32 inch waist, fits really snugly. But then again, maybe it wasn't my waist that needed the XL :D

I'm starting to wonder how much the sizes differ, sounds like every size fits all!

To bring up the swimming trunks again: I have watched the DVD and am unable to find the dark GP label sticker on Daniels trunks in the movie.
All the GPs have that little dark dot on the left leg and I wonder, what happened.

If it's true, that the swimming trunks have been purchased by Daniel himself or Lindy Hemming, why did they remove the GP label prior to shooting?
It is not that prominent, that anyone should be concerned to do an unwanted product placement.

It's probably because the actual shorts Craig wears were not on general sale to the public until well after the swimtrunk scenes were shot. The scenes were filmed in january/February of 06 and the shorts were part of the late Spring/Summer collection that Grigio Perla were putting out, hence when the film was released and all us Bond fans wanted a pair, there weren't any, coz they were already old news. Crazy eh! you woulda thought La Perla would have anticipated the frenzy and had the "Lodato" model ready to go after the movie was out!

I disagree. From all, what I have heard, La Perla or Grigio Perla had nothing to do with any kind of promo of their products in Casino Royale.
So, the swimming trunks have been obviously purchased somewhere just in a normal shop.

Due to this, they have been very surprised for the high demand for this product after the summer 2006 model has been longly sold out from the shelfs.

An explaination could be, that the 2006 did not feature the GP label, different to the 2007 model, which has been only made, after the release of CR has been created such a huge demand.

I totally agree with you "Bondtoys"..I know La paerla had nothing to do with product placement etc of their shorts, but the promotional shots of Craig wearing the light blue Lodato's were released months before the movie was due out...hence as I posted, they had plenty of time to anticipate demand. Anyhoo, I got my pair, now its just a case of getting under 8% Bodyfat...lol

These look to be a spot on replica, unlike the awful Kilema ones that have been on ebay for a few weeks. I've messaged to see if they can do the trunks from the end of the movie. Hope so, I was about to send my real GPs off to have them copied to get a pair of those.
  • KittlemeierKittlemeier U.S.Posts: 432MI6 Agent
Well it looks like the auction was cancelled for some reason. Hopefully they'll get it back up as these looked very much like the real thing.
  • TylerTyler Posts: 184MI6 Agent
Probably fakes...for the ridiculously low price he was offering, they had to have been.

They stated in the auction that they were replicas. What I meant was they were much better than the replicas that had been on ebay for a few weeks. The drawstring was correct and the length looked right. The dark blue coming more around the sides to the front also looked correct. Anyway, they emailed me that they will be relisting them again tonight with some mods to the wording. It might be an option for some that can't get the GPs or don't want to spend that much. In the US, we can't order from Glamonweb.com. He also said he could do the trunks from the end scenes.

What makes you sure, that the trunks, you may have received would be identical to the ones on the pic.
The recent weeks, I have experienced more than once, that pics are taken anywhere to sell all kind of junk, which is not even similar.

If you are confronting the seller, you may be surprised, how many people are selling for "family members and "friends", and of course are not in the possession of a digital cam. {:)

The thing is I already have a pair of Grigio Perlas. I want him to send me a pic of the alternate blue/black?, white, and burgundy trunks that he said he can make. Then we'll see how they look.

Other than that, before I found this seller, I had already contacted someone who makes speed skating suits and other athletic and costume spandex clothing to see if she could make the alternate trunks. She said she could do it from pics and measurements from my GPs, or I could send them to her so she could make an exact pattern(without taking them apart mind you). I'll do that if this seller can't come through.
