Oh, I completely understand your motivation. I just think that if there is any view in the Bond world that is surely sacred it is that Pussy Galore was one of the sexiest Bond girls of all time.

And when they start not smiling back—that’s an earthquake. and then you get yourself a couple of spots on your hat, and you’re finished. Nobody dast blame this man. A salesman is got to dream, boy. It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman
Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the feeling that Pussy Galore is not as universally acknowledged as she once was.
Perhaps it is because the times have changed, but my sense is that Pussy does not get the same appreciation from the men in the crowd as she once did. (Younger and sleeker ladies seem to top the lists of Bond girl favorites).
Perhaps you are right, though. Pussy Galore is one of the sexiest ladies in the Bond universe. 'Nuff said.
After reading posts attack DN/FRWL/GF/TB I'm not too sure about anything anymore. Seriously, I actually don't think it is the case anymore. I love her, but I think she does tend to be ignored.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the feeling that Pussy Galore is not as universally acknowledged as she once was.
She isn't and I think it is (as you indicate below) that the ideal woman has changed. Denise Richards (whom I do like, but not as much as Honor Blackman in GF) has featured in numerous 'most beautiful/hottest babe' polls. Times have indeed changed. Wether or not they have changed for the better is of course a matter of individual taste.

I'll be honest with you. If I were to imagine my ideal woman, it would probably not be Blackman in GF. But that doesn't matter because watching her in the scene on the plane and the scene in the barn is evidence to me that if Pussy Galore was real, I wouldn't say no to dating her.
Perhaps you are right, though. Pussy Galore is one of the sexiest ladies in the Bond universe. 'Nuff said.
Well, essentric or not, I'm certainly sticking by that. But then again I love everything about GF.

1)With the 60's being Bond's gold era, the 70's was Bond's silver era.
2)As good as the script in OHMSS is, it isn't perfect and has a few flaws; chief among them being that the relationship with Tracey isn't quite developed well enough for my liking.
3)I think that Moore was an extremely ruthless Bond and was more convincingly ruthless than Dalton.

Lewis Collins should definitely have been Bond. More controversially, I feel he was perhaps better for the role than Timothy Dalton was, particularly in 'The Living Daylights'. Collins would have been right at home with the role due to his work on 'The Professionals' (my favourite TV show of all). Easily, imo, the best Bond that never was.
And I too don't mind 'A View To A Kill'. I think it's harmless fun, certainly not as lousy as Moore's other two turkeys (TMWTGG and Moonraker). Though Roger's plastic surgery is painfully obvious, the car chase with the cops in pointless and too like 'Diamonds...', and the 'California Girls' bit is awful, there's a lot I like about this. I like Walken, Grace Jones and Patrick Macnee's performances a lot, and the Eiffel Tower sequence is excellent.
JFF claims that Claudine Auger looks "drab and drunk" in TB. (?!?!?).
JFF, with all due respect, are you.....serious? I mean...come on...that statement is jaw-dropping! (I expect more from an Alison Doody fan, JFF).
You can search far and wide for 40years and you will not find a Bond girl in the neighbourhood of being "drab". And JFF, you are not alone, check out the cruel criticisms spread throughout this website concerning Sean's looks in DAF or Roger in AVTAK.
That's why my opinion is eccentric! Perhaps it's ruined by the fact I saw NSNA first THEN TB, expecting so much more but what I got IMO was a second-rate NSNA with a fat, boring villain with his somewhat exotic yet bland (character-wise)villainess along with his stupid mistress which NSNA got an intellectual Largo, a drop-dead gorgeous and vile Fatima Blush (big improvement over Fiona) and Kim Basinger as Domino who at first I didn't like but her looks and acting grew on me.

I think James Bond should go to the moon.
Not now, but...say, in three or four pictures' time---make it the last of The New Guy's movies...but it's about going to the moon; maybe the construction of an international Moonbase (?); Bond goes undercover, is trained as an astronaut to flush out a saboteur, perhaps, and ends up actually having to go...!
Ultimately, we need a villain's lair on the dark side of the moon B-)
Eccentric enough for you? :v

EON should do an older, Bond-near-retirement film at some point to kill off the film series, and the villian should be...Blofeld! Beg, borrow, or steal for the rights (if they didn't get them back already...?), but that's always been unfinished business, and seeing Bond and Blofeld squaring off in there own private little hell while the main plot falls about their ears, now that would be a great Bond film! So basically the YOLT that Fleming wrote...;)

Perhaps Roger Waters could play the villain.

Its an excellent idea. Not that we will se it in our lifetime, but an excellent idea nonetheless
i think the weakest and most boring is From Russia With Love, ive never listened to it.
If you have never listened to it, then how do you know that it's the weakest?

1)Xenia Onatopp was the most beautiful woman in all the Brosnan films. This includes Jinx; although I prefer Halle Berry to Famke Janssen, I think Xenia was a better looking character.
2)Every film features at least one moment which I truly enjoy. (Although in the case of AVTAK, I 'll never identify the moment. )
3)I would rather watch my three least favourite Bond films (AVTAK, TLD, DAD) than Predator 2, Robocop 2, Drop Dead Fred, Dune, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and several other films which I really despise.

OK Dan, no more calling others for non-eccentric opinions if you're going to give ones like these. Who would disagree with you -- certainly not me!

1) I'd have to say Izabella Scorupco is, but Xenia isn't anything to sneeze at!
2) Come on, what's the moment in AVTAK you enjoy? It better involve Jenny Flex.
3) Good to know you'd still watch AVTAK over those, but I've heard those movies are pure garbage. Anyway, I'd still see those over LTK, yes Dan, I hate it THAT much.

) Well, of the films that I mentioned, I hate them so much that I wouldn't watch them again even if I was paid $1,000,000. In regards to my least favourite Bond films (LTK BTW is only 17th on my list), they are still Bond films! :007) If nothing else, I can still watch the gun barrel sequence! Seriously though; DAD had Brosnan whom I thought was terrific (as usual), TLD had a couple of fun action scenes and AVTAK had Moore. It was arguably his worst performance but Moore is still Moore.

"Better make that two."
- Moonraker is a brilliant Bond film, not just in a campy sort of way, but based on genuine merits.
- Dalton's Bond was not Fleming's Bond.
- Dr. Christmas Jones wasn't a bad Bond girl at all.
- Diamonds Are Forever is the weakest of all the Bond songs.
- Karl Stromberg is an excellent villain.
"Better make that two."
"Better make that two."
The best decade for Bond is the 80's. (yes, better than the 60's)
Tomorrow Never Dies is a great movie.
The segment in TND from Carver's party to the parking garage chase, is the best segment of any Bond movie.
Gustav Graves is a good villain.
Aki is by far, the worst Bond girl in the series.
OHMSS is pretty boring until the ski chase.
Thats all I can think of now.
Roger Moore is under rated

1) Dalton was miscast--dangerous, but no charisma.
2) LTK was a worse film than Moonraker.
3) Fleming's depiction of Bond would not work onscreen.
4) Raymond Benson is the worst Bond author.
5) Bond was wise to ditch the PPK for theb P99.
1) I'd have to say Izabella Scorupco is, but Xenia isn't anything to sneeze at!

Roger Moore was a terrible Bond.
Pierce Brosnan wasn't all that great either.
I loved J.W. Pepper.
Thunderball is alot better than Goldfinger.
Never Say Never Again was a good Bond film, alot better than most of Roger's.
And most importantly, Timothy Dalton should have been in Goldeneye.
1)Although I didn't particularly like the executions, I consider both TMWTGG and LTK to have among the best concepts in the entire series.

J W Pepper should have replaced M in Live And Let Die and continued as head of MI6 right through to Casino Royale.
Sean Connery should never have worn a toupee/hairpiece. He should have worn a haggis instead.
Roger Moore looked too much like his stuntmen. And he was way too young to play Bond.
Bond should have bought those silly karate girls an ice cream and told them to go and kick Bibi Dahl's butt.
May Day is the best looking and sexiest woman ever to appear in a Bond film. She's so unbelievably hot.
And I need to see a doctor.
Now as for your comments regarding May Day, you must give me the name of your occulist. )
