A Guide To Listening Casino Royale
I absolutely agree. Does this mean that future "Best of Bond" releases will have a glaring absence? That it will feature the likes of Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, Madonna and Garbage, but not The Great (sic) Chris Cornell? Actually I'm not so much annoyed as outraged; this strikes me as a shameless ploy to get Bond fans to buy Cornell's album for the song.
I have to say: let the boycott start here. I will happily pay 79p for the song on iTunes; I will happily pay a fiver for the CD single in my local record shop - several times, if they do a DAD and release it with different mixes. I will gladly, and with a song in my heart, purchase the CR soundtrack with the song attached. But I will not buy an album from an artist I have no interest in just because it has a Bond theme on it. That is why I am proud to say I possess no Rita Coolidge albums, no a-Ha CDs, and not a single Lulu retrospective. I may be a Bond fan, but I'm not stupid.
I admit, I own American Life; not because of DAD's presence, but because I'm a Madonna fan. And I should add that prior to buying that album, I had already purchased both CD singles and the song on cassette, plus the soundtrack album. At any time there I could have stopped and said, no, six remixes of the theme is enough. But I was willing to pay good money for them, so more fool me. In this case, however, I am genuinely annoyed, and I am hoping to goodness that this is a real error and the single of YKMN comes out next Monday. Otherwise, David Arnold is getting all my soundtrack related monies this year, and Chris Cornell can frankly whistle.

Even with Cornell being on a different record label this makes no sense ?:)
Can't say I want his album either, but at least the song will be released as a single
