I hope that all those members who see CR today or tonight have an absolutely wonderful time. {[] Wether or not you like Craig, regardless of your current feelings about CR and wether your expectations are high or low, I hope you come out of CR feeling extremely satisfied. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, but for the time being, have a martini and repeat the following four words: JAMES BOND IS BACK! :007)
Have a great time guys and may CR provide you with another reason to be a Bond fan. -{

"He’s a man way out there in the blue, riding on a smile and a shoeshine. And when they start not smiling back—that’s an earthquake. and then you get yourself a couple of spots on your hat, and you’re finished. Nobody dast blame this man. A salesman is got to dream, boy. It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman

I will be making a full report back at base tomorrow.
Cheers everyone!
Just think back to DAD.
--Our first glimpse of Bond is a shocker. Pierce has grown older and fleshy and soft. He's showed up for payday without bothering to keep in shape.
--The action's just as soft and sloppy. Brosnan no longer bothered to do his own stunts. He's even filmed running just like Roger Moore: from the waist up, for two secs at a time.
--Colonel Moon cuts a diminutive figure--in one scene he appears to be about a foot shorter than Brosnan. He was educated at Oxford, yet has a nearly American accent. Presently, he'll re-emerge, after some "gene therapy", as a strapping six-foot blonde Brit with a plummy accent.
--Bond's torture should have been a momentous and powerful scene. But the effect was destroyed by artsy, vague photography and Madonna singing at her worst.
--After 14 months in prison, Bond looks remarkably well fed. So much so that Brosnan is forced to suck in his gut.
Consider one another example.
GoldenEye, IMO, is one of the better Bond films. The first ten minutes assured us all that we were in capable hands. Yet, bungee jump aside, a few bumps in the road seemed a pretty bet.
--Our first glimpse of our Bond. After the wild bit with the bungee, we catch our first glimpse of his face. Remington Steele Bond surprises a guard and quips, before he throws his punch, "Sorry, I forgot to knock."
--The shooting of Trevalyan. Point blank. In the head. But not a drop of blood?
Campbell, IMO, is a terrific director who knows how to keep things just whipping along. So good I darned nearly forgot to think "Wait!"
But he's only as good as his script and his Bond.
This time, I believe, he had the entire package. And so I count the hours now until those first ten minutes that say "Relax, all's
well again. This time we've done Bond proud."
Cheers!

I will be going to see CR on Saturday. Not only will it be my first cinematic Bond film since A View To A Kill, it will also be my first cinematic experience of any kind in almost twenty years.
Basically, I stopped going for two reasons. I was becoming too easily distracted by noise that other people in the audience were making. This made it increasingly harder for me to concentrate on and enjoy the film I was supposed to be watching. I also had (and still have) back trouble. Nothing major, but just enough to make me feel uncomfortable after I have been seated for an hour or so.
So why am I going to see Casino Royale? There are a number of reasons.
I was far from happy with Babs & Mickey for dispensing with Pierce Brosnan, hiring Daniel Craig, re-booting the franchise, and keeping Judi Dench as M. And there was all the controversy surrounding Craig (who I have since warmed to considerably). Regardless, through it all I have always believed in the benefit of the doubt, innocent until proven guilty. If Craig and CR are as good as the critics suggest I will happily be eating humble pie.
I wan't to be part of the CR debate that will be going strong here at AJB in the next few weeks. I can't really be a player if I don't see the film.
My brother is making me go. He is a Bond fan, but is an even bigger Craig fan. He thinks DC will be a very good Bond.
It's going to be quite some experience for me on Saturday. I hope I won't be too distracted by the noise of the audience, and I hope my back holds up. However my experience goes I hope all those of you at AJB who are going to see CR at the cinema have a wonderful time.
Waiting so long and then this comes along, what a joy B-):D I couldn't believe it.
Its also the first time I win a contest, something I won't forget ...
Dan, my friend, thanks for the thread---and your kind wish!
"I am not an entrant in the Shakespeare Stakes." - Ian Fleming
"Screw 'em." - Daniel Craig, The Best James Bond EverTM
But yes, may the joy be with you... i don`t mean that -as HH says- you join the Craig side of the moon, but to see a great movie with laughs and pain in the groin
Ok you lucky people, you have a privilege than people won´t, i have no idea how much Dan will wait in Australia, but at least here in SA will be sort of a month...
i have planned to not se this forum 'till i've seen the film, but thanks to SiCo and this post as well, i have a reason to come... thank again and the same to al of you including Dan... (the three: Craig, Kleiman and Same)
I will have to go and see it again ASAP.
i understand you are excited, wanting to tell everyone go/don't go to see this masterpiece/ piece off ****
Dan: how much time do you have to wait 'till sou see the movie (i mean, when is the opening over there?)
Anyway, I will add my two cents after having seen the film. I can't wait!!
This reboot idea is a good turn
but now i'll have to wait till wednesday to see it again(then it officialy opens here in Belgium)
BUT...I saw it yesterday!!! AMAZING! I'm gonna go see it again really soon, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Craig got himself a nick-name from me (a sign that I've accepted him). He is now Danny Boy .
