I know what you're saying - but that scene is fantastic, btw - my 5 year-old is bugging the heck out of me to take him to see it and I really can't make my mind up if I should or not

I have seen colour stills in mags of the Black and White PTS. such as DC sitting in the chair with Gun ( a bit DN Connery !).

Do u think they would have the PTS in colour as a DVD extra? It would be klass if they did, could see the bathrooom scene in gory detail.

I loved the shower scene too. Both of them played it perfectly. That was one of the few times Eva looked really pretty to me, very natural. I loved the concern for her from him, rather than the "it's part of the job, get over it.." attitude you might expect Bond to have.

Agreed. The scene was beautiful, touching, and performed finely by both Craig and Green. In fact, if I had to pinpoint a moment where the two characters fell for each other in the film, I would choose the shower scene.

Go ahead and take your nephew, sir Miles. A 5-year-old would be a pleasure. I just got back from a viewing (my third and counting, or I think I might have said something) in which someone thought it would be a good idea to bring their 4-month-old, who carried on, as 4-month-olds will, the whole picture, their parents oblivious to how annoying it was to the packed theater. X-(

Seriously, it depends on the child. It's bloodier than other Bond films, but pretty tame compared other stuff out there.

Honestly, I think parts of CR are a bit too intense for a 5 year old. The torture scene is short but still very violent (and LeChiffre's final comment about feeding Bond what he doesn't value is pretty vulgar); seeing the way Vesper dies is also quite intense. There are some pretty disturbing images there and I wouldn't be so quick to discount them. At the very least, I'd have a conversation with the child before taking him in to see it.

You may be right. I'd be a little uncomfortable explaining the torture scene to someone that young.

I had trepidations about taking my 8- (will be 9 in January) year old, and took pains to show him stills from the torture sequence beforehand, explaining what was going on, and that of course it was all very real-looking 'make believe.' Of course, even an 8 year-old boy understands what a THWACK in the nuts is all about...

We've watched a few of the other Bond movies together, plus other films [Spiderman, Jurassic Park, etc] and, as bad/funny as this sounds, he doesn't have a problem with the violence - we've discussed the film afterwards and I've shown him how it's been made [the wonders of DVD] - most of the torture scene will go over his head anyway, but it's still strong violence.

I'll have to think about it a bit more.

I've heard several people at work debate whether they should take their kids. In the end, I did take my 9 year old nephew along and he thought it was fine (probably has seen worse on the telly), but despite not being graphic or gorey, it's just brutal at times.

Actually, a colleague summed it up quite well, it's like watching a fight in the street at points - it looks too real. No over the top blood or effects, but you can almost feel every blow.
