Well, apparently Fernanda Lima is now an expectant mother (my congratulations to both her...and the father! ;) ), and the list of Brazilian prospects has grown longer:

It certainly looks (to me) as if they're on the right track :v :x Hopefully, as has been previously stated, some acting skills will be brought to the table as well...

MI6 now says that, with Craig apparently in London (and at Pinewood) for casting purposes, the group of potential Bond girls has been narrowed down:

Paes does nothing for me, which means she will probably get it. Couldn't find much on Pires so no opinion on her. What happened to Camila Alves, I thought she looked right for a Bond movie.

Can't disagree with you on Paes, Barry. She looks like she ought to be turning letters for the Brazilian edition of Wheel of Fortune. The photo link to Pires in the MI6 article (when you click on her name) brings up a nice shot of her---very appealing, although she comes off in this particular shot as perhaps too much of a 'girl next door'...to me, she resembles the Food Network's Rachel Ray (with enhancements ;% ).

Good question; I guess she just didn't make the cut...

That Israeli actress they were considering was a bombshell; I hate to see her drop by the wayside as well :#

Still, if the main Bond girl is a Latina, that will be news...

    Interesting.

She's a knockout :x I'll be curious to see whether or not this pans out; obviously her husband isn't the ideal source for confirmation...also interesting in that she wasn't on the 'short list' put out just a couple of days ago.

We're definitely getting close, I think.

Of course...the operative phrase is that she has landed 'a role'...this could be one of the background, 'window-dressing' parts, the requisite secondary 'femme fatale' character...or the lead...

My guess: window dressing. Just a hunch.

As well as mine. However, I feel she may be too attractive to play opposite the pug-faced Craig. {:)

    Meh...I've had better.

    Okay, I've dated better.

All right, I bought a drink for a girl who looked like that once.

I mean I once saw a girl who looked like that in real life once.

Okay, it was a magazine photo.

...Sheesh, it's hard to lie to you guys.

To quote a line from the article: "... and Craig is having a difficult time choosing those best suited for the roles."

    I'll bet he is.
