I was let down...

For Casino Royal, I was further away from Bond than I've ever been. Columbia Pictures shouldn't have interfered. I was extremely upset the moment that I saw that the Gun-Barrel opening never "really" happened. The main theme was a good one, but the Bond theme should have been used more often. The movie storyline slightly fell away from me for a while. I was thinking I was watching a romance film for a long time. This was the only film in which I really didn't "Get It". I really wish it could have been another "Bond" movie, not a Prequel type-movie. We have enough of those the way it is.

Have you ever read the novel from which this movie is based on? The romance part is directly lifted from the novel, as is the casino scenes.

I'm glad it wasnt just another "Bond" movie, it was about time they did something new and finally moved the series forward.

Sorry to hear that, jacob5000. The good news is that you've got 20 films to rewatch, ad infinitum.

Hopefully the Next Guy will be more to your liking. Cheers {[]

Jacob, we have two separate film review threads at the top of this forum--one for spoilers, one without. Please post your comments to one of those. This topic is closed.
