Suit, Glasses, etc.

Hello everyone.

I have been a James Bond fan for a very long time. It is truly the secret agent that I prefer over any other and feel that all others are based on.

I saw Casino Royale, and like many of you, have to say that this film is truly wonderful and exceptional. I think Daniel Craig has done a fabulous job in being James Bond and I look foward to the other filsm he will do as James Bond.

My question lies with the clothes used by him and the sunglasses. I have been reading this forum for quite sometime, however, I have never registered. So, I remember at one time someone mentioning the actual brand of sunglasses used by Craig in this film. Does anyone know what they are and where one would be able to get them?

Also, what is the signature tux and clothes he uses for the most part? For example, the suits he uses? Do the James Bond films use a particular brand or do they swtich back and forth? Do you know which one was used in this film?

The sunglasses are by Persol (not sure on the spelling or the model no, but they have been identified in one of the forums).

Bond suits and dinner jackets since Pierce Brosnan's time have been made by the Italian bespoke tailors - Brioni and a regular suit will put you back around £2000.

Man those suits do come at a hefty price. Interesting how they do not advertise the suit brands, but they do advertise the Omega watches or am I wrong?

Bond's normal suits are Bironi, but the Tux he wears in Casino Royale was Tunble and asser. which is still very expensive.

I'd love to own an omega however and I'm constantly on the hunt

That's Turnbull & Asser.
As their main line is in shirtmaking, are you sure they've supplied a tux - is there a source for this info?

Fleming always mentions Bond's shirts are made by Turnbull & Asser. I don't remember who tailors his suits in the novel or if it's even mentioned. He does refer to Bond's "first expensive tailor" in one of the books.

That dinner jacket was everything Vesper said it would be. Absolutely perfectly cut.

I'm not sure about that, if you look closely you can see the Brioni label (the writing in red) when Bond spots the new dinner jacket Vesper bought. And as has been pointed out by Bill Tanner you list a shirt maker not a tailor. I always thought Bond would look good in a bespoke Huntsman suit personally, but the Brioni suits in CR didn't seem as dandy as the suits used in the last few films.

By the way Bill, I have always meant to say I was very impressed with the Bond clothing articles you wrote a year or so ago.

Turnbull and Asser certainly do make suits, but it was Brioni that made the suits for Casino Royale. Turnbull and asser supplied the shirts and ties only.

Well I stand corrected. I knew they made shirts, ties, socks, underwear, but I did not know they made suits. You learn something new every day:)

just what I was going to ask, can anyone help as to the brand/name of the shirt and trousers Bond was wearing for the Madagascar scene, someone must know!!!

Apparently the trunks are made by Grigio Perla and are £55 a pair from Selfriges in London.

Absolutely none of the stores in my local mall carry Omegas. I ask them and they try to low-ball me with something else. We'll just say I take a high distaste to them in that proceeding and make a quick exit with my rage. X-(
