alright thx, u know wat kind of IWB holster he has for his P99?
  • cdsdsscdsdss JakartaPosts: 144MI6 Agent
Yeah, it's a Browning. I've got one on my nightstand.

Dunno about the IWB holster, but I carry my P99 in a Kramer.

Two questions about the guns in CR:
In the poster where Bond sits in his tux with cards, chips and a gun on the table in front of him, isn't that a PPK? But I didn't see him using a PKK in the movie. Did he?
What is the SMG he uses in the last scene? It doesn't look much like the MP5's I have seen.

I can answer the question about the gun that James uses to shoot Mr. White in the ankle / foot at the end. It is an H&K MP5-SD. I would like to know what type of Pistol James carries. Is it a Walther P99? Is this REALLY a standard issue pistol for MI6?

I thought about the silenced MP5 too, but it must be an updated version then.

It's not an MP5 SD, it's a suppressed UMP. The pistol is an older spec (pre 05) P99, with short KAC suppressor. The longer KAC is seen in the titles though, as is the PPK.

There is not a standard issue sidearm for REAL SIS personnel. If armed at all they would use what is available in whichever country they operate.

It has been answered before by sniperuk and myself that the smg Bond has at the end is a UMP-9. seriously, guys, use the search function.

ASP, do you find the newer P99 ugly as I do?

I do. I much prefer the earlier P99s.

If you guys are certain about it being a UMP-9, then I'll concede. I though the upper receiver looked more narrow and the front hand guard was round (as is the MP5). I would have to see that snippet of the movie again or a still shot to convince myself that it's not an MP5. Sorry for leading you astray.

I looked at that URL and yes, it is a UMP-9. I apologize again and thanks for the info on the Walther P99

Yeah, the current P99's are ugly as hell, the older ones had much nicer lines. The new ones look like ergonomic bricks.

did Brosnan and Craig both use different versions of the P99?
  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,535MI6 Agent
No, they both use the older spec P99. Although most of the P99's used by Brosnan and Craig are actually PAK versions (blank firers by Umarex) The only time you see a real P99 used by Brozza is in DAD and the shop scene/junk scene in TND (you can identify the real one by the machined barrel showing in the ejection port. The rest are all blank firers.

just did a google on Umarex P99 blank firers and came up with an online store in central europe, guns2u.com selling the P99 for 215.00 euros, anyone here had any dealings with them ???? also, silly question, are blank firers illegal in the UK ????? as im looking at one for display purposes.

Blank firers in the UK require a Section Five Licence. Do not buy unless you want the law knocking at your door.

You can buy a deactivated version of the real thing. That is perfectly legal. Problem is though, getting hold of the older spec P99. Most of them now are the new version :(

would you have any ideas on where i could find one, or at least start looking ????
i bought a really nice limited edition P99 at a collectors fair about 4 or 5 years ago, it had "on her majesty's secret intelligence service" engraved along the top slide, i ended up selling it :# BIG mistake, though i understand from a program i saw about guns in the UK that it was in fact the real deal.

what about ?????? it being real ????
  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,535MI6 Agent
It was a limited edition released by Walther... worth a fortune now.

All of the P99's available at present in the UK are the new 'brick' P99's. Contact these people, and they will put you on their list:

The P99's they are getting in are the new ones unfortunately. They have a newer style equipment rail, rounded triggerguard with extended mag release and different slide. All in all it appears alot squarer than the old P99.

r u guys sure that its a browning and not a CZ-75 that bond steals in the embassy?
  • NightshooterNightshooter In bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
The ejector port is the big difference to me that shows why it is a Browning and not a CZ.

I have a P99 that I bought for work about a year ago. Now mine was made in 2004. It still has the squared triggerguard, for gloved use, and rounded slide. I love it, shots great and little recoil. It's an AS version.
