since we're already looking for unused source material for Bond 22...
theres been stray bits of various books that have popped up in completely different films
Live and Let Die obviously, they almost broke that book into three thirds and gave us one part very eight years
and Licence To Kill also contained The Hildebrandt Rarity and possibly elements of The Man With The Golden Gun
and they actually snuck some character establishing stuff from Casino Royale into Dr No (casino entrance, the carefully placed hairs in the hotel room, the addition of Leiter to the plot)
and in this new film, Vespers body lying in the road is another plottwist from tMwtGG, where Mary Goodnights body was apparantly tied to the traintracks!
are there any others to be found?
I've seen it said in this forum they keep swiping ideas from Amis, Gardner, and Benson for the films
any specifics?
the kidnapping of M and the Greek island in The World Is Not Enough sure sounds like Colonel Sun
in one of the original comic strips reprinted in the Titan Books series, Double Jeopardy, Bond enters the villains seaside villa by waterskiing with an early-model hangglider on his back, then "accidentally" breaking the rope
that was published 2 years before Roger Moore did the exact same thing in LaLD!
and in this new film, Bonds thing with married women: I dont remember that from Fleming, but it was a major part of John Pearson's Authorised Biography of 007! in that book, Bond early in his career is juggling three married women, one of them an MP's wife who catches an assassins bullet meant for Bond! M is not pleased about that one...
I never read the Gardner or Benson books but it would amuse me to learn what bits were borrowed for the movies, as I can believe must have been done...

I think there was a huge list on those somewhere... It may even be buried here on AJB...
