Let us compartmentalize one another

I sometimes get new inspirations to do things that have no real point. This is probably one of them. But, if anyone is interested, allow me to be indulge myself.
I've been thinking. Wouldn't it be just an awful lot of fun to define all the lines of segregation between us as bond fans? You do? Oh good, me too! This is a topic which will consist of my personal labels. See where you fall! Okay. If you're still reading, here it is.
First we have what is called the TRADITIONALIST. You can identify them based on their list of "favorites" for a particular liking of films like GOLDFINGER, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, and maybe FRWL (although this last one is usually not in the number 1 spot). These fans like the traditional 'best' films -- the ones that defined the series. A sub-category of this is the "connery man", which, as the name imples have mainly connerys as their all-time favorites. A particuler "favorite" of these sorts is Thunderball. So when you see this in the top spot of a users list, you can know there is a likelihood that you've run into a connery-man.
The second sort of fan I'd like to identify is the MODERNIST. These are a dying breed. They like Brosnan, particularly his third films, mister twine. They also tend to like DAD more then most, and are the most likely of any fan to be an official "anti-craiger". They don't like Dalton as a general rule, and tend to place OHMSS lower than most.
The third sort is known as the "CRITICAL FAN". They like the films most approved by the critics. A major favorite of this group is OHMSS. This is one of their most defining features. They also like Dalton, and enjoy the early connery and moore films. Craig is generally liked here, though not universally or necessarily. Moore is the least popular Bond among these fans.
Next is the POST-MODERNIST. This is the newest and now fairly popular grouping within the bond community. They like Craig, and have gone a bit anti-Brosnan. They may like one of films (usually either GF or TWINE, not both), but for the most part this group places these films somewhere in the bottom ten.
And finally we have the ODD fan. These fans like the unpopular films. Don't confuse these with fans of dalton's LTK, or george's OHMSS. These films are liked by the critical base. ODD fans have a fancy for moore, particularly his later films--like Octopussy. They may also like Tommorrow Never Dies, and maybe The Man With The Golden Gun.
If I had to label myself, I would say that I am closest to being a "Post-Modern Critical Fan". I'm into Craig, but my favorite is OHMSS and I've always really liked FRWL and Dalton's two. I have an odd intolerance for Thunderball though, which I guess may add a touch of oddness to my fandom.
Well that was fun. Way to spend 20 minutes, huh?

It's all right. It's quite all right, really. She's having a rest. We'll be going on soon. There's no hurry, you see. We have all the time in the world.

I guess I'm a Traditionalist with Post-Modernist-Critical Fan tendencies... B-)

You like movies people tend to hate, yet still despise some of the ones people believe are inferior. However, you seem to not appreciate some of the "Flemingesque" films like LTK, but you love OHMSS. You flip-flop on the Connery's preferring NSNA to TB, loving Goldfinger, but generally disliking the rest of the lot. You love Brosnan as Bond but with the exception of GE, the movies weren't that great. Moore, while not your favorite Bond has many of his movies resident in your Top 10, especially the later ones like FYEO, OP, and AVTAK. You despised the newest Casino Royale, but not on Craig's account, yet he still doesn't deliver a WOW! factor that the others do, but he could just be settling into the role. Overall, you are one interesting fan.
My goodness. I don't know what to say. I'm speechless
I'd rather just call myself a Bond fan
I think many of us here feel the same way; its both difficult and rather pointless to pigeon-hole each other.
I like the 'WHOLE PACKAGE'. There thats my catagory!
After top 5 films on my list, down to and including 21 I class as equal. Ditto with the Bond actors, after Connery and to some degree Roger the Coger, the actors are all equal in my mind!
To be honest though to catagorise Bond fans is too difficult, thats what makes Bond fans so interesting . Although I like the catagories you have created, Luke!
Again, I think a Bond fan is the most suitable title to call me, since there is not a single Bond film that I don't like.
One day you'll all see the light... maybe...
