Hi everyone,
what a great movie! I wonder which martial art Bond is using in the movie?
I know that he uses "parkour" during the chase at the beginning of the movie.
But what style is used in the fight which occurs in the stairs of the Casino Royale? Is it Krav Maga? Thank you!

sorry only kidding, no idea, but agree with you great movie
Good hand techniques and movement in the fighting. You can find all that stuff in the various arts.
I know in the ones I've studied (BaGua, Silat, Bando, Ninjutsu) techniques cross each other. And when I was watching the movie, I could see moves from every art.
(v v bad joke but it is Friday after all!!)
One high level fighter I heard once picked up a bicycle and started swinging it around in a fight. It worked. He won, they lost.
When I fight I don't think which art I'm using. I just think (actually - don't think) react: punch, elbow, knee, shove, etc. Whatever works. Doesn't have to look pretty, just needs to work.
So, yeah, a good secret agent fighting for his life would do the same thing. :007)
I know CQC isn't the real name, but is a real discipline... perhaps in wiki....
That was so cool. His opponent and the fight coordinator for the film was Benny "the jet" urquidez.
And back on-topic, the fight scenes in CS were pretty cool. I concur that there is an overlap in the martial arts.
CQC is just a general term. CQC usually refers to fighting where you're close enough to grab someone. A lot of arts have CQC training in them (the good ones anyway).
One: Kava Magra, started as a Israli Close Combat fighting system, have seen it but not trained in it.
Two: Bruce Lee's JKD or what has become knowen as mixed martial arts. Mr. Lee mixed Boxing, Karate, Judo, and Gung Fu and others that escape me at the moment.
Three: One had been mentioned. Barzilian Jujitsu. Very affective in CQB and on the ground.
The last is Combat Hopkido: Again very affective in CQB but it has some throughs and breaks in it.
If I had to guess it would be a mix of B.J. and JKD.
Fiona: But of course, I forgot your ego, Mr. Bond. James Bond, who only has to make love to a woman and she starts to hear heavenly choirs singing.
