Twice, onec for the heck of it ad once with a friend. I had also previously promised someone I'd o with them so soon I'll have seen it 3 tiems. I hink 3's enough. But I amy end up seeingit again with a friend or something.
I've now seen CR 4 times, with different friends and brother and nephews.
Each time if you look at the backgrounds you notice things you didn't spot before.
Like on the crane fight, from above, when the gun gets thrown back, you can see it spinning down to the ground. It's such a great film with quality story and characterisation.
There are filmed bits that weren't used. Like crashing through the airliner fuselage.
An Eton school flashback with cricket game and
Bond being stretchered into hospital.
Scope for a Director's Cut I think.
De Bleuchamp.
highhopes, is that a moped you are sitting on? Does it have a rocket powered sidecar like in TSWLM? And that outfit looks suspiciously like Bond's romper suit in Goldfinger.
) ) ) )
Son, that there's a Harley Davidson Softail Springer Classic, a motorcycle that I'd like to think even a British superspy would park his Aston Martin for (although I must say I do like Triumph's Rocket III). No need for a sidecar. The babe fits on the back.
You are correct about the romper suit, though -- Everyone in my outlaw biker gang is wearing them now )

I wan't to be in your gang, your gang, your gang, romper suit and all, oh yeah!
Bikes and babes, that brings back memories. When I was eighteen I bought myself a Honda CG 125. I was gonna be Marlon Brando, you know the coolest guy in town, a real babe magnet. When I rode along the streets everyone was going to notice me.
The reality turned out to be that I wasn't Marlon Brando, I wasn't the coolest guy in town, and the babes disappeared like grease lightning. When I rode along the streets nobody noticed me until they almost ran me over.
In all honesty I wasn't a confident rider, which wasn't helped when I had a few close calls avoiding accidents. After about a year I decided that motorbiking wasn't for me and I sold the Honda. Such is life.
If I should ever cross your path in my Aston Martin I won't park it. You can smell my exhaust.

No wonder you didn't feel like Brando: you needed a Triumph Bonneville. ) (I do like Hondas though -- my first bike was a 750-4)
You do have to be extremely careful. I rode a motorcycle almost exclusively in my early 20s, and it can be scary out there. It still is, but I find now that people seem to be a little more aware of motorcycles now, probably because there are a lot more of them on the road here in the States. And you're starting to see more women riding motorcycles, too.
Anyway, I'm lobbying for Bond to have a motorcycle. He's a biker. He rode one in the story "From A View to A Kill" and Fleming has him saying he'd forgotten how much fun they were, so obviously he had some experience with motorcycles. Maybe he could save the world in a black leather tuxedo, with fringe on the sleeves. )
Saw CR for my third time this week . . . and loved it even more! Daniel Craig's performance just keeps getting better with each viewing.
The scene in front of the bathroom mirror after his clash in the casino stairwell is phenomenal. He truly looks haunted . . . My enthusiasm for the Bond movies had been waning. CR has restored my faith in the franchise. I really can't wait to see where they take 007 next!
I had to nip out for a long smoke break because the film was loosing my attention!
Sorry!
CR is such a departure from previous Bond efforts that I'm guessing it's one of those movies fans will either love or hate. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground.
As for the number I'm shooting for, I don't know. My record is ten times to see a movie in theaters, but who knows...maybe I'll break it...such a darn good movie...
Wasn't on planning seeing it. Can't explain how it happened. Saw it the other times for Mads Mikkelsen's acting and Martin Campbell's excellent directing.
Great film by itself. I personally don't consider it a Bond film, a fluke in the series, basically an anomaly. It had all the Bond elements except Bond himself, trust me I've seen it 4 times and I struggle time after time to believe that Craig is Bond.
And please don't go ape **** on me since I don't like him as Bond, thats my opinion. If you like him, good for you, it probably makes the movie more enjoyable.

Wow, ten is loads. I have never seen a film more times than 3. Don't think I have seen a film 10 even taking in tv and dvd viewings.

That's a fair opinion for people who have actually watched the film. It's the people who have not even watched it and say DC is terrible that annoy me.
I have seen Casino Royale four times now.
Twice in London, and twice again here in Melbourne.
It's still showing at my local Hoyts cinema (and everywhere else I believe) so I may be able to squeeze another screening in before it's gone.

I'm a HUGE 007 addict since ... 25 years, I saw my first Bond when I was 9 ;-)) with my father .. it was FYEO .. and I got hooked.. since then I've seen every BOND flick in theatre at least 2..3..times and 20 times more over the years on video/ dvd ;-))
I've read all the novels, got the entire collection from NO til CR (got the dvd from SONY), got all movie soundtracks etc...- I've seen CASINO ROYALE so far just once in theatre.. when? ...YESTERDAY.. i know a bit late.. but I waited on prupose .. and I was BLOWN away.. OMG.. superb movie, and Craig got deffinately what it takes to carry on .. they could'nt use Brosnan for CR .. I agree 100% with the desicion EON went with a new actor ... and chosing Craig, and yes he got the certain something in him between Dalton and Connery!!!!
I thought it (CR) had all the right elements you need it to understand BOND as a rookie ..
can't wait for BOND 22 "RISICO"
PS: I'm going to the movies 2.. 3..times more.. ;o)))
So anyone have any updates to their theater viewings?
Sadly Casino Royale has left my local theater.
I'm up to 9 cinema viewings now - I still plan on a few more yet.
Nine! Wow ... I've got six myself, which is an absolute first for theater showing. It's still playing at several theaters around town, so who knows? I may go again.

I know - it's a bit sad really )
I only saw DAD 3 times at the cinema but most of the others I've seen at least 7 times. I kinda figure that I'm not going to get the chance to see it on the big screen again when it does finally end it's run - and that's the best place to see 'em
I went to go and see it again tonight after watching A Night at the Museum (which is surprisingly good actually ) and it was SOLD OUT!!!
I was happy and sad at the same time. I really wanted to go and see it and caught the beloved in a particularly generous mood as she didn't really want to go as much as I did but I was delighted that it was still packing out a big screen in a city cinema on the Saturday before NYE.
We had only just been commenting whilst waiting for the other film to start as to how good a run CR has had, still on 6-9 showings a day and released 6 weeks ago, much unlike Breaking and Entering which I am not sure lasted a fortnight here on 1 showing a day!!!
