Okay... I like Craig

It's official... after buying in to all the negetivity about Daniel Craig, I like him as Bond. CR feels very much like an early Connery movie...

I love the Flemingesque feel Danny boy brings to the role and his looks are similar (in my opinion) to young Connery.

Just dye his hair brown and there you go.

Amazingly, he has shot up to my number 3 favorite Bond... he may replace Dalton as number 2 in my book VERY soon!

Glad to hear it! While he doesn't quite have Connery's handsome features, he does have a similar physicality, shape of face, and rugged confidence, and these qualities bode well for his tenure as Bond. Though Connery is still at the top for me, Craig is easily second now. I like the rest of the Bonds pretty much equally (though the oft-maligned George Lazenby rises, perhaps, just a notch above the others), though each for a different reason.

    Craig is solidly #2, all time, as far as I'm concerned---honestly, it's no contest---in fact, as Bond 2.0, he's really #1... ;)

Upon reflection, I think he can keep the part for as long as he wants it...

    B-)

I think what Connery and Craig both project so well is masculinity. And I don't mean that as a cut to the other Bonds. Brosnan projected sophistication, Moore unflappable calm, etc... But Connery, and now Craig, project testoterone above all. And that's what makes them such great Bonds. All the fancy clothes and sophistication in the world can't quite hide the dangerous, rogue males beneath. And I think that contrast between the genteel veneer and the rough SOB lurking behind it is the vital ingredient for a great James Bond.

    Exceedingly well said, HH :007)

Connery had the greater looks and he also had great facial expressions. But I can definitely see parts of him in DC.

Absolutely. There´s a particular crane long shot of him in his tuxedo approaching the Casino. I could swear I was seeing young Connery.

I very much enjoy seeing Craig as Bond as well.

Some of you may not have any idea what I'm talking about but I find DC James Bond very similar to the way Patrick McGoohan portrayed his role as The Prisoner.

The curt, matter of fact, way of delivering lines and some of the mannerisms seem very, very similar to me.

And Patrick McGoohan was considered for Bond.Actually in one of the publicity stills Craig reminds me of him quite a lot.

Glad to hear someone agrees with me...or someone actually still knows who "The Prisoner" was/is.

Which publicity still are are you referring to Virgil? I would be interested in knowing and taking a look as well.

Wow, hadn't thought of the Patrick McGoohan/"The Prisoner" similarity, but now that you mention it, yeah it's there. {[]

Delliott you seem to know your #6 - does Craig's Bond remind you of him at all?

Still looking for that pic Virgil?

but I do have a copy of the book "The Prisioner Companion" that I have been reading...

I didn't make an correlation between the two, no...

You probably seen the picture already, it´s well known. When I saw it, I thought of McGohaan (maybe his mouth expression, I dunno...). Of course it´s only my opinion.

    I partially agree.
In the first scenes Craig seems Steve McQueen, for me...

I can see the Steve McQueen resemblance as well. Also of note Virgil I think you are bang on, that picture is very Patrick McGoohan looking.
