I saw a Sean Connary impersonator in the Slug and Lettuce pub near Waterloo tube a few weeks ago. He was smoking a cigar and was with a guy who was wearing a GE crew jacket. Later on, he was at a table with loads of women so he must be doing something right, lol!

I saw a trailer for this programme on C4 tonight. I am pretty certain that I saw a brief clip of John Allen doing his Sean Connery gig. It was just for a moment, but it has to be him.

John Drake you made me actually laugh with your post. The whole "he looks like he just threw a frisbee" was very funny to me. Thanks for the laugh.

Anyway, I digress. This fellow who thinks he looks like Connery...I am sure I have seen a thread about this before -maybe it wasnt on this board. On the other thread like this almost every post dumped on this guy for not looking anything like Connery. He's an old guy with white hair and a white beard, he should just let it grow and stick with the whole Santa thing.

'The Convention Crasher' aired tonight. John Allen appeared in two sequences. In the first he got in the same lift as Justin Lee Collins and they have a brief chat. Later JLC interviewed him. The lucky sod is going to the Playboy Mansion soon, although one presumes that won't be as a February's Playmate of the Month. He also showed JLC the photo of him and Connery together. He does look the part, but the accent's a bit dodgy. Wandered between Irish and Australian, so perhaps he should put a metal bucket on his head and impersonate the outlaw Ned Kelly. But he seemed like a very nice guy. Best of luck to him.

In all fairness, I can see how casual fans of Sir Sean could mistake John Allen for that real thing. But what you have to remember, guys, is that we are full time fans. I admit that, if I saw Mr. Allen strolling down the street, I'd do a double take.

Funny story, though. my friend Maiko has this uncle that looks like Sir Sean (apperintly) enough that the brazilian news papers took photos of him and announced, very seriously, that sean connery was in brazil on holiday.
