djou's thread bump prompted me to offer some items and add a bit, if I may, to the superb details PoorMansJB and others have posted here:
My friend Dr. John Flynn was one of Steve Dymzo's go-to Bond experts. John wrote the manual that accompanied Steve's Golden Gun and the verbage for his Penfold Hearts plaques. S.D. often gifted prototypes to John.
Interestingly, John once suggested the LTK Polaroid Camera, and immediately Steve bought then sold a few of the same model camera but with an SD brass plate attached (one of John's buddies made all the SD plaques, by the way).
John told me recently that there were indeed a very few Red Grant Mausers and Dr. No Berettas that went out with plates. Also, Steve at one time began the work on the Moonraker Laser Gun and Goldeneye Disc/Keys set that were eventually completed by Factory Entertainment.
It was interesting to reread this thread's discussion on "new Golden Guns" and etc. and to remember Steve telling me once, "Matt . . . it's like 27 manufacturing steps just to package the Golden Guns for shipping!" In that vein, FE is on the record that their many costs including fixed costs for licensing and manufacturing, etc. and variable costs from intangibles. They do their best and SD did, too, but got a little stuck in the details, as we all know.
John Flynn has for sale now these items:
* From Russia With Love > Sniper Rifle Prototype (Steve debated whether to add it to the FRWL Case but decided upon separate sales for the rifle)
* From Russia With Love > Walther LP-53 BB-gun Prototype
* The Man With The Golden Gun > The first-ever Golden Gun (no box or case, call it Gun Zero!)
* MI-6 Secret Service Badge in Small Square Case Prototype (SD "lost this license")
* SD European License Plate Prototypes (BMT 216A, etc.)
* Other > Some non-SD replicas and props for sale
These aren’t my items so I’m posting neither photos nor prices here, but I can put folks in touch. PLEASE, serious inquiries only. I think his prices are reasonable but a lot of people have been asking for photos in recent months and taking a lot of John’s time but not buying anything. Other than a worthy premium for the first Golden Gun (and the provenance story I heard sounded great to my ears), his prices are really low. I've been focused almost wholly on genuine props for about two years or I'd have bought these items.
I'm not seeking a finder's fee or commission on these items. Rather, I want to help John sell a few items from his collection.
Do you know if he has some "Icons Authentic Replicas" replicas for sale eventually please ?
Thank you very much.
Take care.
Are you talking about Bond items or non-Bond? He has some genuine prop items from Star Trek, etc. as he used to be friendly with Roddenberry's office and visited over at Paramount, etc.

Yes, non Bond related. I certainly misunderstood as you mentioned "non SD replicas and other props for sale", I thought you were talking about general movie replicas.....like Icons or Master Replicas.....and not especially Bond ones !!!
