I've been listening to Lennon The Definitive Collection, but I don't like it much, despite being a long-term fan. In truth, I've started to find his stuff a bit self-indulgent and self-pitying. This soul-searching I used to admire in contrast to Macca's evasive, non-revelatory tunes, but now I find it a bit much. The problem with this Best Of is that the songs are in non-chronoligical order and it does nothing for them. Once you take them out of their context they're left to stand on their own merits. I mean, it kicks off with (Just Like) Starting Over. It loses all its poignancy like this, it just seems like another corny 1950s pop pastiche. You then have ballads Imagine, Watching the Wheels, Jealous Guy - all fine songs but it gets too soppy. The acerbic, biting Lennon hardly gets a look in, it's more the wimpy househusband Lennon who dominates here. 8-)
There's little musical development; almost any of the songs could have been on the White Album. This compilation gives credence to Macca's claim to be the edgy, experimental Beatle.
ASP9mm had obviously 1 or 2 too many glasses today... 8-)

he's my cousin's BF and recently released his first CD, called CONTEMPLATION. It's on itunes and very cheap, so if you like a nice, peaceful track with just guitar and a VERY talented guy singing, go check him out!
Jackson's one of my favorite underrated actors. He actually played Edmund Slate in QoS. He's a great musician as well, but sadly hasn't updated his music page in a while.
Ive recently started going through all the soundtracks to the original star wars films, forgot how good the music was, my favorite song is definately "rescue from cloud city (hyperspace)" from Empire strikes back though.

Though it's a love song, it kind of makes me sad.
