saw these folks in concert a couple years back...they would have been amazing if they didn't stop their song every few minutes to ask us if we were ready for Flogging Molly (the headlines of that particular show)
Nice and mellow, weak chorus however. It's for a De Niro film that's meant to be a bit of a Xmas turkey. LALD aside, Macca picks dodgy films to write for. Including Give My Regards....
...Geroge Michael's Freedom! '90, which is a great song with a fantastic video.
Abso-frickin-lutely. Whenever my kids used to ask me what a supermodel is, did I show them pictures of Mrs. Tom Brady? Hell no, I went to youtube and cued up this video. One of the greatest collections of...um, talent...ever assembled. And a fabulous song, too.
For me, just got through a long mix of the Black Crowes. Love 'em or hate 'em, Shake Your Money Maker (released in 1990) could have been from 1970 or 2009 and felt just as timely. A lot to be said for that.
Hilly...you old devil!

) So true. These women were very much the real supermodels. Videos like this and Billy Joel's Uptown Girl really do show that. However it's also one of my favourite George Michael songs. I love the vocal thrust of the song; it' superbly sang.
"He’s a man way out there in the blue, riding on a smile and a shoeshine. And when they start not smiling back—that’s an earthquake. and then you get yourself a couple of spots on your hat, and you’re finished. Nobody dast blame this man. A salesman is got to dream, boy. It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman

I heard this on the radio this morning - I missed the fact it was Cheryl Cole, but this song means a lot to me - and I'm surprised at how good she sounds.....

I've been listening to this track from the latest Robbie Williams album a lot...it's my fav. from the album...it's called Do You Mind
Dream on by Aerosmith. I'm not the world's biggest fan of Aerosmith (they bore me a bit), but I do love a couple of their songs, in particular this one. I think it has amazing music and IMO it features one of Steven Tyler's best vocal performances, if not his best.

Two songs: Use Somebody by Kings Of Leon, which is the only song of theirs that I really like, and Geroge Michael's Freedom! '90, which is a great song with a fantastic video.
I like Kings of Leon, sort of.... however they are quite overplayed, but this track of theirs is amazing...

Night Rain by Guns 'n Roses! DJ for my college hockey team....the cow bell is everything. B-)
I just got on a rip with G'nR and listened to both volumes of Use Your Illusion...took me back to the early '90s, when I was in attendance at the riot that broke out at their concert at the Riverport Amphitheatre in St. Louis...the cops said they didn't use tear gas...they lie. I spent a few uncomfortable seconds in a tear gas chamber in the military, during CW suit training, and once you've experienced it, there's no mistaking the sensation. We were downwind, but fortunately only got a whiff...
Great two albums...self-indulgent in bits, but often brilliant. Coma... B-)

I recently purchased Use Your Illusion Vol I off e-bay. I just need to get The Spaghetti Incident?, and I might get a cd version of Appetite for Destruction (I own it on cassette tape), and then my Guns 'N Roses collection will be complete.
I'm currently listening to the gorgeous Curtis Mayfield. He's a bit of an aquired taste, as his voice doesn't jump out at the listener, but he truly is magnificent. He has a really tender and very high voice. It's incredibly smooth, and is the kind of voice that demands to be listened to, rather than simply have on whilst one is doing something else. I would certainly recommend that people get themselves a bit of Curtis Mayfield. B-)

You need Appetite For Destruction . The best G&R CD (or tape ) around.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope
Fantastic album! B-) I can remember exactly where I was, and what I was doing, when I heard Lord of the Thighs for the first time

Fantastic track; perhaps FS's most convincing effort at the contemporary sound. Lee Hazlewood* was a great talent.
*man who wrote the song, perhaps best known for "These Boots Are Made For Walking"
