Macca is still writing great stuff, but for the last decade or more has been badly let down by dodgy vocals and/or bad production or arrangement, or poor editing.
Great lyrics, great production but in this case poor vocals let it down. But when he teams up with Kanye West and Rianna to do the vocals, it's a smash.

I think thats more the issue with McCartney these days. His vocals are very weak.

I too have a very eclectic taste in music, from heavy metal to opera etc
and do listen to some American country music. -{ some of which is brilliant,
While some is terrible.

Congrats to Lewis Hamilton for winning the US Grand Prix and becoming Formula One World Champion for the third time. -{ Terrific race to watch. Afterwards, the Mercedes team were celebrating in their garage with champagne and (loud) music. Nice to hear this one again, first time in ages.
New single (plus video) from David Bowie. It is the title song from the album Blackstar, which is scheduled for release on Bowie's 69th Birthday (8th January 2016). Some of you may recognise Blackstar as the theme to The Last Panthers TV series currently showing in the UK on Sky Atlantic.

Will definitely check that one out; I'm a huge Bowie fan. So good to see him still at it! -{

Listened to a lot of Bowie tonight. Moonage Daydream, Kooks, Fashion, Queen Bitch, Lady Stardust, Rock N Roll Suicide, Oh You Pretty Things, Sound and Vision. Plan on watching a musical tribute to him on channel 4 tonight.

I know its sacrilege to say it ... but .... I've never rated McCartney that much. There, I've said it and I don't care
Neither have I. George Harrison in my opinion was the most talented Beatle and of all the solo albums the fab four recorded when they split I think 'All Things Must Pass' was a standout.

Well...I've always rated McCartney quite highly---in fact, I rate them all (even Ringo) a cut above the garden-variety rock musician---and I've always enjoyed all of their solo work. Lennon's is perhaps the least accessible, but his purity of intent is admirable. Wings was brilliant, and Paul still manages to put out credible material, even if he's obviously past his best.
This said, Harrison's triple album debut is surely a singular achievement...his swan song, 'Brainwashed,' is also a gem, putting him among such great company as Warren Zevon and David Bowie: all three artists put out their final projects knowing that they were at the end. All are amazing.

Country music is one of my guilty pleasures . Even though I listen to mostly everything. Well, apart from the current chart chaff.

They're no One Direction !
And thank heaven for that !
I always thought that Wings was better!
