I have re-discovered how good Queen were especially live before they became famous. I'm just listening to disc 1 of Live at the Rainbow 1974, and boy is it good. They were a proper rock band heavier than what they became after they had become a mainstream pop band.
Have had Radio Ga Ga in my head all day after watching Trainspotting 2 last night (great scene and use of the track!)
Maggie May by Rod Stewart, one of those songs that takes me back to my senior year in high school...
"I don't know if the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or imbeciles who mean it."-Mark Twain

ive got a George Ezra album on at the moment , you listen to George ,you conjour up an image of some unshaven cowboy esq looking guy from Oklahoma driving a battered red Chevrolet pick up ,but in reality he is a 24 year old from the St Albans area of Hertfordshire UK and is probably happy being on a battered red bus 8-) but I like his music
Well, just reliving my like of dire straits and went looking for some live albums, happened accross a live in verona download, thinking Knopfler sounded a bit ropey, after a Google search turns out I was listening to an Italian tribute band, really quite good except the singers pronunciations )

Thanks, YouTube recommended.
Can anyone recommend something akin to this sound? It would be very much appreciated.
Recently listened to "Supermarine", the first track released from Han Zimmer's 'Dunkirk' score. Really like its rhythmic beat, intensity and the manipulated ticking clock bit that's apparently the basis for the entire score.
On vacation. Reading Ian Fleming The Man with the golden gun. A collection of JB soundtracks on Deezer. Must say that Sam Smith WOW has grown on me. From dislike now to a big like.
this never happened to the other fellow

The sun is out at last ,I went out to get the papers and some fresh croissants So the only track worth putting on from my down loaded catalogue in me Beemer was Don Henleys, fabulous "Boys of summer"
"drinking song" and "left me for dead" and lots more by Rob Dougan who would be excellent for a Bond theme. Also some of John wick 2 soundtrack, while I'm painting the kitchen..... On a Saturday...... On the behest of my wife......who hasn't shut up about it for 3 weeks!
It was either that.....or the priesthood

Anyone here a fan of Lalo Schifrin?
Personally, I loved the Dirty Harry soundtrack, especially Scorpio's View (which had been used in the living with a caravan episode of Top Gear) and I'm currently listening to Switching Gears from the Bullitt soundtrack.
Many regard him very highly as a composer and it's easy to see why. Interested to hear other people's opinions on him here.
a reasonable rate of return

Give the likes of: Massive Attack, Portishead, Nightmares On Wax, Groove Armada, DJ Shadow, Gomez & Tricky a try. Not all of their stuff fits the bill, but you will find plenty that does amongst them.

I'm a big fan - got a copy of his Kelly's Heroes soundtrack recently, one of my favourites of his work.
