At the time, and still today, Jill St. John made the biggest impression on me.
Well, she did show a bit more cheek than usual.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE on the old ABC Sunday Night Movies when I was a kid...
...been hooked ever since.
That's probably the case with me as well---it was definitely an early Connery on ABC Sunday Night Movies...either DN or FRWL...I was young, but it drew me in on an almost subliminal level...
On the big screen, it was DAF, at the Lincoln Theatre in Lincoln, Illinois---I was nine, and when Connery went 'mountaineering' outside the Whyte house, I was forever changed :007)

My first was GoldenEye. After playing the N64 game for god knows how long, I asked a friend of mine to borrow the VHS of it to me. I was blown away. Soon after that I rented every movie in chronological order. I was 11 at the time. And I remember some of my first impressions too. I didn't care for Dr. No, I hated FRWL, YOLT, and OHMSS. LTK was a downer to me and I couldn't even get through TND on my first try. But it's funny that now Dr. No, FRWL, and LTK are in my top 5. But I remember it very much, that after watching FRWL for the first time, I almost lost faith in the series. I wasn't used to the lower budgets and slower plots of the 60's. Thank god I held on.
...I saw AVTAK on TV, where it will always be special to me, as most hate it.
The first Bonds I saw were the Connery films... a friend lent the VHS tapes to me back in... wow.. 1984! I was hooked...
BUT, I quoted JFF because the first one I saw in the theater was AVTAK. I thought it was neat to see the gunbarrel still being used and all the elements there. It was like a remake of Goldfinger. Little did I know then that most Bonds were!
my first was FYEO...it's all my uncle Tom's fault! I remember distinctly...I was in his living room in New Jersey, nine years old, and he's watching TV. "Hey Kelsey, come here! For Your Eyes Only is on! you should watch it!" He just encourages me...xoxo Uncle! and no, Tim Dalton's my fav...sorry Roger!
I actually saw Moonraker first; well, there was nowhere to go but up, right? I was around twelve and many things about it appealed to me at that age. Obviously the action; I was very into scifi and Star Wars, so since I had no preconeception of Bond, seeing him going around in space did not strike me as odd. Since I was into Marvel Comics I quite liked Jaws who was like the Hulk. The relative ease with which Bond aquired sex obviously appealed to me at that age...I remember him pulling open the tie on a girl's robe and thinking, "Oh is that what you do?" lol! I had much to learn.
And I also loved the humour, like when Bond is hanging off the gondola: "Hang on James!" "Well, the thought had occurred to me."
In a way Im glad it was my first Bond, because while a lot of people would rather not acknowledge it, it always has that sentimental value to me. I can enjoy this disreputable film on that level. I still like the way in which Bond comnvinces Jaws to join forces with him, and actually enjoy TSWLM more knowing they will one day see thing eye to, uh, solar plexus lol.
I am actually one of those who has no favourite actor for Bond, I like what they all brought, and that each new one has never been an attempt just to duplicate the previous; they are all about even for me in terms of their ratio of movies I love to movies I just will watch for a Bond fix. Lazenby and Craig excepted of course, who fortunately each made great movies (with more to come from Daniel, let's hope)
My first bond film was Tomorrow Never Dies. It is indeed close to my heart because it was my first one, but because I was hooked immediately after viewing TND, my parents rented the Connery films for me quickly after. I prefered them to TND, and because I was being introduced to Bond at the time, the Connery films remain closest to my heart moreso than TND.
Believe it or not, but I was actually 32 years old, when my friend Matt Sherman and his fiancee at that time came over with a movie called the Living Daylights! I watched it and immediately became a Bond fan and within a couple of months, I had watched them all, started collecting Bond memorabilia and going to Bond conventions!
Never had that reaction toward any other series! Probably good!
I was born in 1972, First Time I noticed JAMES BOND was the var. billboards and posters for Moonraker (79) and later For Your Eyes Only incl. the teaser/ trailers (81) - my parents wouldn't let me watch them at first according to my age..BUT at age 11 I watched my first in the theatre 1983's Octopussy, and I got immidiat. hooked to Bond .. since then I watched every single movie 4..5 times in the theatre and than many many times on video/ dvd, did my homework with getting all the movies, books, soundtracks..everything..
I like every actor who had the chance to play Bond so far.. but my favorite is SEAN CONNERY, Roger Moore was good from LALD to FYEO. imo ;o))

The first Bond film I saw was From Russia With Love I was 6, even then I loved the film and know that Bond was diffrent from all action films. My faviorite scene is the train fight it is still in my top 3
The first I saw was The Spy Who Loved Me at age 8. Nobody does it better - this movie has so many of the greatest Bond elements - the ski chase opening, the song, silhouetted gymnastics, Barbara Bach, Jaws, submarine Lotus. I've been a huge fan ever since, and this is my overall favorite Bond movie today. Connery is my favorite Bond actor.
First one I saw was one of Brosnan's, yes, I am that young, but mind you I was only made a James Bond addict after I saw Casino Royale, I'm currently working through all the films from Dr No on wards and is currently on Moonraker, #11. I must say, although havn't seen Timothy Dalton ones yet, I really like Sean Connery the best, and then Roger Moore, although mostly inspired by Craig

Always wondered about this, Dan. Given that you have so many strong opinions and are not a big fan of Jinx, I would have thought you wouldn't settle for a stock Halle Berry photo as your avatar.
The first Bond-film I saw was Octopussy, with my parents when I was seven years old. I was hooked right away, and since my parents enjoyed them, I was allowed to watch them as well.
Roger Moore was thus my first Bond, but after seeing Goldfinger, Sean Connery became my big hero! B-) To this day, he remains the true James Bond to me, although I very much enjoy Pierce Brosnan as well!
The first Bond film I saw at the cinema was Licence To Kill in 1989, when I was eleven, and since then it has been a tradition to see all Bond movies at the cinema!
(Even managed to see Casino Royale on its Swedish premiere! )

It is odd, isn't it? I can't really answer except to say that I originally had a gun as my personal photo, which I got bored with. Although I don't like Jinx, I do love Halle and since it was IMO the best of the Halle photos, I chose it. I'm actually thinking about switching photos again as I've had this one for awhile and I want something new. You're right though, that it is a stock photo; I guess it was simply the best of the photos that I was looking for.

The first Bond movie I saw was either Diamonds Are Forever or The Man With The Golden Gun. I cannot remember which it was, but I specifically remember a scene of Bond hanging from the rafters. Either he was hanging off Blofeld's oil rig, or under Scaramanga's complex where he dropped his gun. I think it is more likely to be the latter because that film was partially filmed in Hong Kong, so it was a big hit there, and I was living in Hong Kong when I saw it.
I cannot remember the incident that really got me hooked. Perhaps it was seeing the gunbarrel sequence for the first time when I watched one of the early Connery Bonds - really sets the tone for the movie, IMO. Whatever the case, I'm glad to be a Bond fan now!
Mine, I think, was something like You only live twice, Goldfinger, or Thunderball, however the first film I remember watching all the way through was Tomorrow Never Dies.
However, country to what people say about your first Bond being your favourite, my Favourite Bond and Bond film is Dalton in Licence to Kill, this is probably because of my Love of the Bond Novels, Dalton, to me, plays his bond closest to the bond written, and Licence to Kill, even though so many people hate it, contains my favourite moments from the Live & let Die Novel. My Second favourite bond is Lazenby, followed by Connery, then Craig, then Brozzers, then Moore, however I love all the Bonds and all the films and don't dislike any of them.
The first I can remember was OHMSS on TV. I was like 4 or 5 and only really remember the ski scenes. First one at a theatre was Moonraker. I saw it at a drive-in.
My first Bond movie in a theater was The Man With The Golden Gun, which my uncle took my cousin and I to. I remember coming home and raving about it and my father saying to me there was only one Bond....Connery. A cuple of weeks later he took me to the theater to see a Sean Connery double bill of Dr No and Diamonds Are Forever. I was hooked from then on, and Connery has, is and will always be the one and only James Bond.
I've seen it on TV when I was a young boy, back in the 80's, and I recorded it on my VCR. Couple of years have passed until I saw other Bond movies, because in that time they were unobtainable.
I played that tape so many times...
And yes, I think that was the reason for thinking that Sean Connery is the real James Bond.
