If this was Bonds first mision why was it set in the present? surley Bonds first mission would have been in the mid 1950's early 60's.
Why did M not know who he was?
Have eon taken James Camerons idea that 007 is a codename and not a person?
Why at the end of the film when he finally said "My names Bond James Bond" did it sound like he finally had the right to say the name, was this DC vindicating himself to his detracters?.

My friend, this has been asked since i recall, the idea is that this is a Reboot, a Bond 2.006, no Connery and friends... no nothing.
And M knew ho he was, she promoted him, she gave him the 00 status.
If we say that this is James Bond 2.006 that is his name, not Daniel Craig or Evelyn Tremble... His Father was Andrew Bond. Period
About the ending... you might be right.
