It's only natural that he would have such criticisms about the movie - from the actor who played Bond to the latter's romance with the leading female character. Like I said . . . it's only natural. I'm certain that none of us hardly have anything positive to say about a movie that did not appeal to us.
Mind if I speak for myself? :D It's actually not true that I hardly like anything about CR. It's in my top 13 Bond films, so I do quite enjoy it. I just think it's very flawed, and among its biggest flaws IMO are the dialogue, Green's performance and the development of the romance. Plus, while I don't love Craig, I much prefer him to Lazenby and Dalton. So I don't dislike it; I saw it twice and I don't regret doing so; I just think it's enormously flawed and far from the masterpiece that many poeple on this board think it is.

Actually I think CR is much more flawed than GF. I consider GF to be (along with FRWL) one of the two least flawed Bond films of all time.
And also I dont understand how you think that the romantic development in GF is close (i know u said behind) but CLOSE to OHMSS???? ?:) ?:)
I never mentioned GF. I was talking about GE (which you mentioned.) ?:)

Erm... what's romantic about GE? Bond and Natalya hardly know each other. They only really meet after the train incident and then it's onto the final furlong. A similar problem with Martin Campbell's CR, in that Bond only gets to meet the girl about an hour into the movie...

I dont mean its love for the whole movie, just when they are together there is really good chemistry.

Yes, indeed. While GF was IMO one of the two least flawed Bond films of all time, I consider CR to be a very flawed film. The reasons I consider CR to be so flawed relate to some of the performances, the screenplay, the dialogue, the direction, the dialogue, the lack of certain elements, the theme song and did I mention the dialogue? ;)

I consider GF to be flawless; however since I spoke of the flaws of CR, perhaps you could mention the flaws in GF? :o ;)

Like Drax said, I too was referring to their chemistry (which I felt was more romantic than sexual.) Although there ws never a time in which I thought they would get married ;), I also got the sense that Bond didn't merely want to sleep with Natalya.

Pussy Galore is not hot, the screenplay, bad romance between them, the special effects, the plot, the storyline, the gassing of fort knox, the adolecantness of SC, the continual over the top-ness like Goldfinger tieing up the pilots of the plane at the end, the squashing of the car, the grapple cord at the start, how JB converts PG to a hetero.

I do like the movie, but its flawed as ****.

Without intending to tread on your argument, lads, the above simply can't be allowed to pass without comment. As M says in TWINE, "This will not stand". Honor Blackman was sex on legs at the time of GF and even today she's still a stunner- I got her autograph :x at a Bond music concert she was hosting a year or two ago- and her scenes with Sir Sean radiate sexual chemistry. I don't think this is a minority opinion, either.

Ok, the lady's honour has been defended; now, please continue comparing the flaws of CR and GF.

    It is certainly not a minority opinion. :D I have to say, I am extremely jealous that you met her and got her autograph. Not hot? Pussy was a WOMAN, not a girl, a WOMAN. :D -{

Gotta say, I never found Pussy Galore to be that sexy in the film. Pretty, yes...sexy, no...if that makes any sense. Maybe I'm so used to buxom women in bikinis that nothing else will do. I will say this, however: Honor Blackman today is one of the most beautiful women of her age that I have ever seen, an absolute stunner. I find her 2007 look for more attractive than her 1964 look. Does that make me weird? :s

I never found Pussy Galore to be all that sexy either. As for Honor Blackman 2007 looking more attractive than 1964......Well, she does look very good for her age.

I would agree with you if it were not for that ludicrous barn scene in "GOLDFINGER", in which Bond "seduces" (translation: assert his so-call masculine strength) Pussy Galore. I really hate that scene.

You're quite right, the scripting of the scene (by Paul Dehn, btw, not Fleming or Maibaum) leaves a lot to be desired- but just look at the smouldering eyes of Blackman and Connery during it!

I love that scene. Not because I'm a mysoginsitic macho brute ;), but because I love the idea of Bond being able to change a woman's sexuality. It's very un-PC and it could never happen today, but that is a major reason why I love it. :D

Perhaps. ;) Although it's also because Bond (particularly Connery's Bond) did things that would be deemed completely unacceptable today. Another example was his sleeping with and then turning into the police of Miss Taro in DN.
