Casino Royale On a Budget
I will be posting my newest article this weekend which hilite how a Bond fan can acquire a Casino Royale wardrobe without breaking the bank. Not everyone can afford a $400 Turnbull and Asser shirt, or Lobbs chukka shoes for $1500 or even a Sunspel shirt for $120. This article will give even the most budget concious Bond fan the opportunity to 'be like Bond'. For example, below I have pictured me wearing the Old Navy sueded cotton shirt just like the one Daniel Craig wears in the end of the movie while running through Venice. Except this shirt was $12.99. Paired with a $3.99 Target undershirt instead of a $60 Sunspel grey shirt as seen in the movie. In addition I am wearing Tobacco colored Hush Puppy ankle chukka boots VERY similiar to the Lobb ones you see Craig wearing in several scenes. Except unlike the Lobb ones these were only $28 at DSW Shoe Outlet. You get the drift...watch for the article this weekend...

Shame that Old Navy doesn't ship out of US (i live in Spain), so I'll have to search over my local stores to see if I can get a similar one.
I have a grey sunspel tee too, I bought it at an outlet in Gibraltar for 35$.
Great effort, Mantis. I'm all for sourcing cheaper alternatives to the original items, but just want to be wary of adding comments that mis-inform and later become gospel.
I thought Lobb only supplied two styles of shoes that are known for sure. Both are formal from their ready-to-wear range: 'Luffield' and 'Becketts'. In addition they may have supplied the 'Romsey' ankle boots (M's appartment scene), which are again a very formal style - but they haven't confirmed this.
The suede chukka boots seen in the bathroom fight and all of the other casual style shoes and boots seen during the film weren't made by Lobbs (they don't have suede boots in their ready-to-wear range) and the original brands might still be available off-the-shelf if anyone can identify them - at relatively bargain prices (next to the Lobbs, anything is a bargain).
And is that a real or fake seamaster?
I try to keep misinformation to a minimum when I can...;)
Apologies Nightshooter, I just looked at the colour options on the Lobb site and they do indeed list Tobacco suede, oddly, as a colour choice.
Mantis, have you had written confirmation that Lobb supplied the chukka boots? (I don't know who Joe Brizzi is - is he connected with the firm in the U.S.?). Are the Tobacco Suede Romsey's the same as those used by Craig, but with a rubber sole added? I know that Churches did the same for Brosnan’s Presleys.
A member also suggested the boots in the 'M's apartment' scene were Romseys, but I haven't been able to confirm this with Lobbs - anyone know for sure?
