Daniel Craig clothing Venice

Hi,

Anyone know who made any of Craigs clothes in the Venice scenes:

Persel did the polo I believe - am I wrong? What about the rest?

Persol provided the sunglasses. Loads of threads on the clothes used in the film, search them, or

Nothing specific known here other than has been already been discussed; Sunspel made most of Bond's casual clothing to designs supplied by Lindy Hemming. If any off-the-peg items were used for these scenes (and they often are), no one has yet come forward to identify them.

    PS - Love the name!

Take a very close look at DC's shoes. Is that a Nike tick on the side?

Yes, it looks alot like one.

Pretty sure that they're NOT Nike. Looks like a shadow in the suede, rather than a Nike swoosh, which would be facing towards the heel, if it was a Nike product
    Never fear the event

If you zoom in the exact same mark is on the inside of one shoe and the outside of the other. A big coincidence if it's just a mark in the suede. It looks a hell of a lot like the swoosh as well.

No, those are definitely Nike logos, they're on both sides, well spotted! I can't find any Nike shoe that resembles these. Anyone have a better picture, or an idea which Nike range this could be?

See http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/index_clothing.php?m=cl&g=cl016 for a photoshop enhanced enlargement (still hard to tell).

They do lace up like the Converse Jack Purcells that he wears in the Madagascar chase, Are we sure they're not black Jack Purcells?

    Edit:

I have trawlled through all the Sites I can find that sell Nike Shoes and these are the ones that look most like the ones in the Venice scene.

    Nike Air Max Classic (Black)

Has anyone emailed Nike? I prefer these to the Jack Purcell's.

I just found another pic of him running that shows the tops of these shoes...they don't look black to me but rather taupe or grey....

They could be a dark grey, however to me it looks like their black, the pailer colour could come from the mesh like fabric Nike make most of their tounges out of.

the shoe remert007 put forward looks like a possibility, but It looks, to me, slightly the wrong shape, the shoe in the chase scene is shaped at toe slightly differently.

however this could be down to the poor quality of the images we have to work from. and the running shots the shoes are quite far away from camera.

I think that the closest so far is going to be the Nike Considered Low 4 as mentioned earlier. There are just a couple of screen caps that seem to have the raised edge on the toe.

The tick certainly goes the right way.

    Has anyone emailed Nike yet?

To me they look sort of like the Nike SP5 golf shoes except they should be suede.

I've had a search round, the closest I can find, and they look very close to me, are these...

    Nike Air Articulate II

But for the life of me I can't find them, in grey, anywhere but in that ebay posting.

There definitely very close. Closest so far anyway.

I don't think they are, I've looked at some high-res images of the photos and though they may be Nike's, they aren't "Air Articulate II"....the hunt continues.

Oh well, either way I'm gutted that I can't find anymore, I think they look quite nice.
  • IanT007IanT007 Posts: 117MI6 Agent
Having looked closely, they could be. The sole certainly looks lower than the previously discussed Nikes. However, I can't be certain yet.
  • IanT007IanT007 Posts: 117MI6 Agent
They could be the articulate 2. I've strained my eyes looking at that mi6 pic at the top of this thread and the panels on the toe and the lacing are very similar to the articulate 2.

However, I am not a shoe expert so I am relying on the other experts to decide.

I believe that Bluetone found the correct style of shoes worn by Bond in Venice. If you look at the toe of Bond's shoe in mid run you will clearly see a curve with a sort of broken lip. http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/index_clothing.php?m=cl&g=cl016
Now look at this link below, notice the same curve with broken lip. I believe the color is black with a suede leather finish. The greyish hue could simply be dust because in direct sunlight the shoes look very black. Also there is a picture in the link of the shoe which is in roughly the same position and angle of the back shoe with toe pointing down shown in the picture of Bond in mid run and it does match. http://cgi.ebay.com/Nike-AIR-ARTICULATE-II-LTR-Mens-Shoes-Size-7-5-US-NIB_W0QQitemZ220075529674QQcmdZViewItem

Just went through 386 shoes on the nike.com website and could not find the Nike Air Articulate II shoes. It seems that these shoes are yet another hard to find item. Does anyone know where you could find these online? If there was a site that has all the different colors of this shoe, we could put this "Venice screen shoe" to rest. Good job Bluetone on finding this shoe.

I came across a thread on a forum about parkour (coincidence) discussing trainers/sneakers.

From what I was reading Nike have released Air Articulate III, presumably to replace II. From what was implied it seems that III wasn't as nice looking as the previous model.

    Edit:

Here's the link to the thread.

Thats a very good picture of the shoe. Now that should be proof enough that the shoes worn during the Venice scenes were in fact the Nike Air Articulate II. I guess it makes sense to use a running shoe huh for those scenes? I just wish I could get a pair,oh well. Now if we could find out what shoes were worn in the opening of the movie, now that would be a real hunt.

So we have nailed the shoe, but are we agreed on the colour and fabric? And more importantly, where do we get a pair?
  • BluetoneBluetone Posts: 31MI6 Agent
I think the black and white models are leather, but to me in the film they are definately grey, and the pictures I've seen of the trainers on the net look more like a suede fabric.

As far as getting a pair goes...

The black and white ones are available on the net if you search, although more in europe than anywhere else.

I've emailed a few stores regarding grey ones, but no reply as yet. I'm not sure if they've not had a wide release or whether they're a discontinued model.
