Ah, the joys of attending a movie premiere in China! According to this site, Daniel Craig was given an offer on the streets of Beijing that he really could refuse:

Casino Royale Star is Offered a Pirate Copy of His Own Film

Bond star Daniel Craig was yesterday asked to buy a 75p pirated DVD of his movie Casino Royale.

The actor had just flown into Beijing for the Chinese premiere when he was approached.

'Someone tried to sell me a copy last night,' he tells The Daily Mirror. 'I was wearing a hat and glasses so they didn't recognise me.

'It saddens me. Going to the cinema is a great experience. You're missing out by watching a bad copy of a DVD.

'As far as I'm concerned you get 50 per cent more by going to watch it on the big screen.'

Casino Royale is the first out of 21 Bond films to be screened in China.

    :)) :)) :)) :)) :))

That is a CLASSIC story. Let's hope, though, that the Chinese public listens to Craig and goes to the theater to see it. I think they will. In a place like China, the only good reason for buying a bootleg is that it's the only way you'll get to see some films.
But as someone who can't abide walking in on a film where the opening credit have already begun to roll (just like Woody Allen in Annie Hall), I don't think I could take a bootleg. In fact, I don't remember ever seeing one.

There's a fuller version of that article which Sir Hillary Bray posted under the topic headline:

How surreal is that, Daniel Craig being offered a pirated DVD of Casino Royale. Craig reckons the person in question didn't recognise him because he was wearing a hat and glasses.

OK let's imagine that this person doesn't initially recognise Craig, goes home later in the day and turns on the TV and sees footage from the Casino Royale premiere. I can just imagine the look of shock and surprise on his/her face. :o

Ohhhhh crap! :# I read Sir Hilly's post yesterday and I didn't even connect the two. Well, just to show I can take as good as I can give, I'll close this redundant topic and refer everyone to the earlier thread. And I'll PM the person who started this thread to tell him what a nitwit he is! :s
