Casino Royale Poker Plaque (with Corgi Cars)

Hi Guys,
Did anyone get the 2-car boxed Corgi set that contained the Casino Royale poker plaque in it? I've been trying desperately to get a decent photo of one, so if anyone has one and can help me out, I'd be eternally grateful!
Thanks!

Thanks! That's certainly a pretty good close up! If anyone has one and can get the details from an even closer distance, that'd be great!

I realize this thread is really about the chit but I wanted to note that many dealers/websites are showing that same, awful pre-production mock-up photo supplied them by Corgi; the actual piece--from the case, to the interior, to the cars themselves--is far superior.

As for the chit, here's a scan (click on the image for a larger view):

Although this was what the original poster first requested, it looks as though he's since clarified that he's really after an actual prop; just as well, since the Corgi chit is radically different.

Thanks for the post - I don't have a close-up of the Blue one yet; that's a nice start. I know it's not the production one, but with a couple of edits (I have the red one for reference) it would be right.
I'm not necessarily after a real prop: I'm looking to have some plaques comissioned, but I can't do that without some really detailed shots.
    Thanks!

Hang on in there, I will get the blue one to you soon, in the meantime...

They are extremely well made, with the lettering actually inside the casting so it cannot scratch off, there are several layers all pearlized and when held up to the light show a watermark effect. Must have cost a fortune to produce them.

    Hi there
I am also interested in these plaques. I have heard different accounts of their sizes. Can you please tell me what are the exact dimensions of the red and blue plaques? Also what is that little symbol on the lower right corner near the gold scrollwork. Many thanks. Iwill be posting photos of my Bond props soon.

Will get the blue $1,000,000 plaque up on Thursday. The symbol by the lower righthand scroll is a B and G, and the dimensions are 105mm by 75mm. I would say that there are at least five different layers or ply to the plaques.

    Hi Asp9mm
Thanks for the info. Those plaques are sure things to lust for. Looking forward to the blue plaque pics. Could you also provide the blue plaque dimensions in millimeters? With that BG symbol, does the B and G overlap slightly?
    Thanks, qbvi

The blue plaques are slightly larger. The BG does not overlap, but they do touch with nothing showing between the print.

Do we know whether cartamundi have any plans to release these?
  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,535MI6 Agent
They are not going to release the plaques, they were made for the film only - 150 red ones and 100 blue ones.

Quite right - infact, if you ask Cartamundi, they'll tell you they were quite keen to consider producing them, but that the studio forbade them from making them for the commercial market and that, instead, all the ones made (bar a few that snuck out!) would be housed in the prop store.

Well, that's spoilt my poker night plans for this weekend then!

But seriously, it would have been fantastic if they had released them wouldn't it?

Here are piccies of both plaques together. I didn't realize until I was taking these pics that there is a difference in size between the two...... DOH!

    Hi ASP

Thanks for the pics and rplying to my earlier threads. Can you describe the coloured layers of the blue and red plaques, or better still provide pics of the sides.
    Thanks, your collection is impressive.

found it in an ebay auction for the poker chips

Sorry, but this is a Sony/MGM/Eon copyrighted image - we can link-to but not show the image. It's a pain but dems is da rules.

There are at least five layers, but internally there may be more, the fittings are so tight it's very hard to tell.

    Hello,

Sorry to bring this thread up after so long but I was searching google and found it. I'm trying to purchase 3-4 of each the red and blue plaques from Casino Royale. They don't have to be actual movie props, replicas will do but all I have been able to find are ones the are spelt wrong. If anyone is able to help me please let me know. I'm located in the US and e-mail is stepdev@npgcable.com and I'm willing to pay decent money for them. Thanks{[]

I don't think you will find these plaques for sale anywhere, except for the "Casino Royal" or "Hotel Splendide" plaques made by Matsui. All the actual Casino Royale plaques were made in limited numbers as previously stated by ASP9mm. All were used in the production of the movie and most were retained by EON. If they come up on the market be prepared to pay in the thousand for each.

BTW, the casino royale plaques as seen in the movie were made in France by Bourgogne et Grasset - B&G. The plaques were made in B&G tradition: design and construction. The number of plies, the raise edges and the lunettes (which is their distinguishing feature).

Hi sorry to open and start posting on an old post, but does anyone know where i could get a few casino royale plaques from? I have found some on ebay but they are in the US and i live in the UK which makes it a little more expensive.

how much would it cost to have some copied? not to the exact original but to a good standard, and who would be able to produce them?

    Thanks

    Jack

As Kan wrote, there are the Casino Royal (no "E") plaques on eBay, provided by the fellow who is under license from Eon and made by Matsui. The Hotel Splendide plaques are stopped/sold out (send me a note if you have more to sell to me!) and the actual screen used plaques go for thousands of dollars apiece if you can find them.

I have a variety of plaques and chips available for sale from seven Bond films and am always looking to buy, sell and trade. Thanks!
