I'm a Dalton fan, so I would like to try save TLD. But TLD is about the 6th best Bond anyway, so I'll let it be eliminated.

Eliminating such a movie like TLD deserves a Nobel price, or maybe an extra vote? ;)

Not a stinker in the bunch, but CR does not yet have the classic status of the other four movies.

Sixth best movie in the series... not too bad. You philistines got it wrong by only a small margin. One day you'll realise that TB and GF should have gone out earlier. But as far as collective errors of judgement are concerned, this is one is quite tollerable and I forgive you.

Eliminating a Bond film is never fun. I certainly didn't find cause for celebration. The Living Daylights, especially the first hour, is an excellent film.

Unfortunately, compared to it's company, process of elimination and all that. :)

That's okay, it took long enough...it still outlasted all Moore and all Brosnan films.

Indeed! A strong showing for Dalton and TLD. Nothing at all to be ashamed about (unless of course, you voted against it :007) )

I agree with this. It's probably my third favorite overall, but I can't get myself to vote it above GF and TB, simply because, in my eyes, it hasn't had sufficient time to earn the right to be ranked ahead of those pieces of Bond "bedrock".

Ha! This from someone who ranks TWINE above OHMSS, GF and TB... ;p

I've been watching these movies for over 20 years...I've had plenty of time to make up my mind.

Harry, I may realise that those two masterpieces should have gone out earlier (which actually will never happen, but anyway) but TLD will still have lost out to GF and TB in this game. :p

Funny how TB was struggling not that long ago and came quite close to going out. It's made a miraculous comeback since then. How peoples preferences sway.

All solid films left, not much point to it anymore IMO. Can we call it a 5-way tie?

It wouldn't be nearly as much fun that way.

I'll tell you (and perhaps you'll be happy to hear) that my only doubt in that ranking is OHMSS's placing. I do think OHMSS deserves to be higher than 8th in many respects. Filmically it is hands down the best of the series and Peter Hunt wins my Best Bond director award any day. But I have a profound disliking for those moments in the series in which Blofeld actually appears. (Yes I am one of those weird Bond fans who think that the series is better off without the bald cat-lover; at most, he may be cast as a shadowy creature whose face is never seen).
So, precisely on account of the centrality of Blofeld (and his weaknesses) to the plot of OHMSS, the movie loses precious points.
