When I rang JBCC, the girl I spoke to was quite surprised at my reaction of 'brilliant!' since most callers she'd spoken to were very negative about the extension. So, again on the assumption Fabbri are following this thread, I'd like to say again, purely for myself 'brilliant!'. Like most on this forum I was convinced the line was definitely being drawn under 110 and was over, so am well chuffed it's continuing. As I've said before I do sympathise with subscribers/ collectors who feel trapped, but hopefully, there could be some gems heading our way if the wish list has 'registered' with Fabbri.

I've just had to phone the UK subscriptions helpline as my card credit that I've paid all series long with, has been scammed. I like the rest of you thought there was only 3 more issues left to pay for. However the lady I spoke to, says it's now official the collection is being extended to 130.
Has anyone else been told this?
Regards
Lawrence
Hello again people. I'm breaking my silence on this one - I have just phoned the JBCC helpline and CAN CONFIRM THE SERIES IS BEING EXTENDED TO 130. If anybody here doesn't believe me, phone them yourselves.
As Diecast007 said, 'nothing is impossible'.

If that is true, then unless Fabbri can provide a list and it looks interesting, plus there are a few nice gifts, I am going to cancel my subscription and will simply fish for any gems on eBay.
I have just phoned Fabbri who can confirm that the series is being extended to 130 due to unpresidented demand from certain collectors. A letter is going out with issues 108 and 109,which states what some of the models are. Also they are reverting back to the Two per month senario.

Emailed my friend working for Fabbri. Yep, this one's true. The details he can gather seem to be the following...
1. Ixo will be retained as the manufacturer.
2. Due to a slow-down at the manufacturer, models will be officially released at the rate of one per month. Note that he was a bit unclear when he said this. I'm not sure if this means you're going to get mailed the cars at the rate of one per month or if one will continue to be released per month to the Newsagents while models will be literally mailed once every two months.
3. When I asked about better dioramas and the possible return of figures, he was decidedly unsure. He either can't say or won't say what Issues 111 and beyond are. But he did drop the following hint: "the last cars will be for Bond 23, and that's all I know about them. They can't exist yet since nobody knows [what cars are] going to be in Bond 23."
4. "There's still a demand, mostly for the Ixo models. Look on eBay." His words, not mine.
5. Specifically asked if we're going to see what I put as "models in other scales." Him: "It's going to stay in 1/43 scale."
All of the other questions I asked I that I believe have relevance (those being the presence of non-cars in the collection, if we would see re-used moulds from Ixo, and if any other modelmaker was going to be involved) received the rather straight-forward answer of "I don't know."
I suggested this one and accidentally typed "Dodge" when the truck is of course a Chevy; my error...although strangely, you do see a Dodge going over the railroad tracks, then it switches to the Chevy. Not the only car-related continuity blooper in FRWL, as we can see three distinct Citroen Traction Avant 11BL's and two distinct 1960 Ford Ranch Wagons (one two door and one four door, clearly meant to be the same car).
Can we have this clarified as either the 220S or the 180D? Ixo's already done a black 180D (technically saw more screen time than the 220S), but Oddjob rode around in a blue-gray 220S.
I think as long as quality and price are maintained, then I think I will continue collecting.A big plus for me is the news about reverting back to Two models per month. The wait between models is one of the reasons,us collectors have lost a certain amount of interest lately,I feel.I think if we can get a few great models in quick sucession, this forum will be buzzing again.

For what it's worth, I think we may have confirmed via seperate sources how they're going to work it. Seeing things in the Newsagents, then having subscribers getting them later? Possible, I suppose. I'm going to send out an email about this and post the response.

Cars movies can't have a part work Mattel are 100% shoed in on that territory. Sadly they only make a selection of the cars - their web site gives the low down. NB not all the baddie cars were Eastern Block there were Pacers and Gremlins from US and the chief baddie was .... well I'd better not say for those who have not seen it.... )

On the JBCC topic - I just got a back ordered Dodge Monaco Cop Car not a bad model at all even the dented doors look right on a US cop car. Database warehouse say that the Econoline will be available back order from begining of August will post when they let me order it
I got my email response! Apparently, he's kind of unsure himself. All he says is that "I was told one car per month" but also that "subscribers will be getting their cars faster [than before]." What he's trying to say, I think, is that one car will be released a month and one car will be mailed per month. There's your answer, for what it's worth. We'll wait and see, I guess. ?:)
"My own preference would be to see the 180D 'henchmen' classic car chase version, but others on the forum may disagree."
One of the big reasons I agree is that Ixo already has the moulds for the 180D in their entirety AND did a very nice job on the car, as well. They've made a limousine based on the 220S (Konrad Adenauer's car, I think), though, so it could easily still happen. It wouldn't be hard for them to make either model though; quite the contrary.
Also, regarding the list, I'm seeing a few repeats/wrong movies. I have NOT altered any details from said list unless they were incorrect, so here we go...

*General comment: this is one of the few I would actually be disappointed with if even good quality figures were included unless they actually stood outside of the milk float. Its most memorable scenes were the real delivery man (i.e. "Bloody Yank") taking bottles off the back, then having Necros strangle him, then Necros getting frisked right next to it, and finally Necros picking up exploding milk bottles off of the back.
Some decent pics of the Econoline recently posted on another forum:
Beautiful van and thanks for the pics but...ouch! Have a look at where the driver's side mirror is supposed to be! Hopefully that's just a reject. The grille seems well-done, which is no easy feat for an early '70's Econoline. I REALLY like the Club Wagon markings; nice job by Ixo! -{

Just replacing the TLD Chevy in the list (one of my choices) IMDB comments it's a cut-down sedan but I dare say Fabbri would still be able to identify it in the movie:
It would probably lack figures but it's still a beautiful classic IMHO and could be a very nice addition to the series.

Welcome to the forum, Lawrenceb32! And what a first post ... although I have to say that I am not sure if I am entirely happy with another 20 models ...
When I asked about better dioramas and the possible return of figures, he was decidedly unsure.
"There's still a demand, mostly for the Ixo models. Look on eBay." His words, not mine.
To a subscriber this sounds like a serious threat: no figures and Ixo standard diorama base #1 gravel road or Ixo standard diorama base #2 asphalt road. The Ixo models may fetch higher prices on Ebay but this is because of a few car-centric collectors who want just one or a few cars for their collection (e.g. the hearses or the Fords). These are exactly the opposite of the people who are relevant for GE Fabbri - the subscribers who buy all models. A risky strategy to focus on just the cars and skimp on the dioramas and figures. I for one have been very disappointed with the latest issues and am not sure if I will continue with the subscription.
But of course I will use the opportunity to add to the wish list some models that I could then buy on Ebay ... I just changed the list to film order. My additions are italic. It's becoming a pretty lengthy list, but who says that 130 has to be the limit?

* now that's a Bahamas rental car with style, not the Mondeo. I include this as the 4-door convertible is a true classic, although it is not as memorable in the film as the stretch limo.
Welcome back moviecarfan! Good to have you back. Great news about the collection when I called a few weeks back and posted as TheWizard it must have been just ahead of an
Official announcement. Still have an ip block but hey it's kinda fun now. Twenty more cars to look forward to. I've said all along anything can happen and I was right! Lol

If I'm reading what he has to say correctly, then what he meant regarding better dioramas and/or figures returning was that he himself was not quite sure what was going on regarding better dioramas/the return of figures (at least to the pre-Daniel Craig films), though I guess it's being discussed.
With regards to Ixo, I did sort of cut up his statement. What he meant here (if the previous sentence in the email is any guide) was that the Ixo models were being better-received than the later Universal Hobbies models, and that they were, so far as he could see, going to stick it out with Ixo due to the latter's popularity. I wouldn't interpret that as automatically meaning no figures, either...Ixo did include a figure for both the Range Rover Convertible and the Ford Crown Victoria Police Car. I'm only guessing here, but maybe one of the sticking points between Fabbri and Ixo was including figures?
Many thanks for the welcome back, guys - much appreciated! I really did think the whole thing was done and dusted.....
Just look at the wish list now - and we thought there wasn't much left for Fabbri to seriously consider modelling
Other forums seem to be discussing desirable additions too, this one is French but even if you don't speak the language, you get the general idea from the pics:

This sounds pretty encouraging, in that there could be a return to a more dynamic diorama/ figure aspect to the models. Here's hoping.

I can tell you this now: Fabbri IS watching this thread! Now, how did I reach that conclusion? Simple: my friend got cold feet! Said something about telling me something his bosses might not like/he may have spilled the beans too soon about. Didn't say what, specifically, probably because he knows I'd start reading his emails between the lines. Now, this guy is reliable, and he was very cordial and very nice about saying "no more", but the fact he still emailed it to me is rather telling, I think.
He DID say he would get back to me regarding distribution of the new models, and that that was fine/something that needed clarification, but nothing of the collection itself! Go figure!
Other forums seem to be discussing desirable additions too, this one is French but even if you don't speak the language, you get the general idea from the pics
Some good suggestions over there! Only a few I'd object to on the basis of continuity: the military vehicles in Goldfinger EXCEPT for the Ambulance w/Laser. There were so many different other vehicles (Kish's Jeep alone changes manufacturer at least THREE times), though, that first off it's not clear what the film wanted you to think Kish was driving (technically, all would have been acceptable) and second, there are a whole lot of Jeeps capable of being on dioramas AND less than 7.99 GBP out there that I just don't see it. Besides...look at everyone's reaction to the Mahindra Jeep (OP) when that came out....and that was actually not only well-done, but a modelling first!
The other one I'm going to say "this wouldn't make sense" on is Largo's T-Bird from Thunderball. Okay, why, you ask? Simple: with a change of license plates, you get...Felix Leiter's T-Bird from GF in the literal exact same colors with the only difference being slightly wider grille slats. And of course, that's been done. I want to see new stuff, as I'm sure all of you do. Was it a nice model when we already had it? Yeah. But making it twice? Just...no. It's such an easy Code 3...EVEN with a diorama (use one of the Ixo pavement dioramas with a printout background inside the case)...that I just would prefer not to see this one.
But this post sounds awfully negative. Let me get some positives up...I'd love to see the following (in no order)...
-1964 Dodge Polara 500 (YOLT). Yeah, the Toyopet Crown stole the show as the bad guy car, but a Japanese export spec Dodge Polara would really be nice, especially since nobody focuses on 1960's Dodge. Note that, perhaps incredibly, this car was left-hand drive, despite being made for the Japanese market. The Japanese had no laws regarding importation of cars with left-hand drive; only that the cars have side mirrors mounted on the fenders, NOT the doors.
-1968 Ford Escort MkI Rallye (OHMSS). If anything, this belonged more than the Mini did.
-1974 AMC Matador Police (TMWTGG). We know for a fact that Fabbri considered this oddball car, but never made it. My guess remains that this was because of the complex grille assembly. BUT, with Ixo onboard, I think they can do this.
-1977 Scaldia-Volga M24 Luxe Sedan (OP). Orlov's other staff car, and ironically, far closer to the one he'd have had in real life (Erich Honecker banned the Mercedes-Benz from East Germany in 1971 and even the Soviets had to obey that rule). Ixo has the moulds, and have FINALLY done the "Second Generation" GAZ-24 Volga with correct bumpers to be able to do this car as it was represented in the film.
-1984 Jeep Cherokee (AVTAK). Would absolutely love to see this. One of the last AMC Jeeps, and also one of the best.
-Utilimaster Aeromaster (LTK). The prison van that goes for a "swim." Would look awesome in a diorama in which it was resting on the seabed, even sans figures.
-1993 VAZ-2106 "Lada Zhiguli" St. Petersburg Militsia GAI (GE). Well, you did say we could suggest anything, and they did play a big role in the film...though I completely admit I'm selecting this for biased reasons.
-2005 Škoda Octavia Police (CR). Abrex made this car and Abrex and Ixo have often worked together. Why not? Would make a solid model and we saw it for a decent amount of time.
I've been browsing the french site for e long time, and I think, althoug the cars are nice, the one example of the Cars parked at Schrublands is just such a long shot. They're good looking cars, but a car that "accidentally" stood in a car park where a Bond movie was filmed is something completely different than a Bond-car. There are, though, some exeptions. The Continental Convertible, though not used in a big scene, is driven by Conners and is also the first thing Volpe sees when she enters Palmyra... All in all, I'm very glad this topic's resurrected itself in such a positive way..!

Beautiful van and thanks for the pics but...ouch! Have a look at where the driver's side mirror is supposed to be! Hopefully that's just a reject. The grille seems well-done, which is no easy feat for an early '70's Econoline. I REALLY like the Club Wagon markings; nice job by Ixo! -{

Just replacing the TLD Chevy in the list (one of my choices) IMDB comments it's a cut-down sedan but I dare say Fabbri would still be able to identify it in the movie:
It would probably lack figures but it's still a beautiful classic IMHO and could be a very nice addition to the series.

And welcome back, Diecast007 and MovieCarFan.

Just look at the wish list now - and we thought there wasn't much left for Fabbri to seriously consider modelling
Other forums seem to be discussing desirable additions too, this one is French but even if you don't speak the language, you get the general idea from the pics:

This sounds pretty encouraging, in that there could be a return to a more dynamic diorama/ figure aspect to the models. Here's hoping.

He DID say he would get back to me regarding distribution of the new models, and that that was fine/something that needed clarification, but nothing of the collection itself! Go figure!
You've got a friend that works for GE Fabbri? You kept that quiet ....
