I see that Issue 110 is now available from ebay sellers in the UK. Just a pity the magazine cover is almost identical to that of a previous DBS, Issue 20 (the CR DBS) - exactly the same Daniel Craig pic
I picked-up my issue 110 today. The DBS model is pants! The so called "damage" is simply the absence of the driver's door and some stippled paint, badly applied. There's no Bond figure, which is ridiculous with the open door and there are no dents, bullet holes or anything like that.
I saw the someone posted here previously a custom version of this model and it was superb in comparison to this weak effort.
By the sound of things we are in for some more rubbish as Fabbri continue milking us for our cash.

Oh dear not good. This sounds like everything I was concerned it might be. So 110 is bad as I thought and 111 is expected to be bad. Two editions to complain about I think

I'd hold back judgement for a bit. Reason being that we got one positive review and one negative review. I've only seen pictures of the model and GaryD is correct in the damage is only tampo-printed on with a door missing. But that's exactly what we expected it to be; the only question was if the quality of the tampo-printing would improve (it seemingly did).
We knew from the moment it was announced it would be missing the figure because it's from a Daniel Craig film. This shouldn't surprise anyone. No bullet holes? Difficult to see in small photos, but I thought we got the typical "dimples" UH had been applying ever since the 20's in terms of Issues. Please correct me if I'm wrong, however.
Basically, the made the edges of the tampo printed damage less crisp and otherwise, it's the same as the early QC rejects we saw in China (difficult to make out the rear window detail in KINGsMODEL's image, though that was a production model).
I would hold off judgement on this model before you see it in person.
Picked up Issue 110 last Friday but still waiting for the replacement Ford Anglia. Was ordered on the telephone back on the 5th September 2011.
What do you think of the damaged aston, is it living upto expectations? I believe the Anglia is being sent to all subscribers without the need to order or so I was told.

Yes Got my Anglia a few weeks back as a Direct Subscriber with no input from me. My information was if you "Subscribed directly" then you got one Free. If however you purchased through a Retail Outlet then you do not and therefore had to purchase one.

Model of Aston was OK but not as good as I expected it to be! I think it is far too late in the series now to say that the inclusion of 'figures' within the dioramas would have added more realism to some of the models. Oh well, never mind. On the whole, I think the collection has been a good one and I for one have enjoyed collecting the models. Only thing now is to design and have built a large display cabinet for them - to show them off! )
With regards to the Ford Anglia, I do subscribe to the collection but have not had any word, letter or phone call with any information of a FREE replacement. It is with reading other peoples entries on this web-site that I decided to call and find out and the chap I spoke to said that he would be ordering the replacement for me. So at the moment, I'm still waiting to see if it arrives or not!
Regarding the QOS damaged Aston, a missing door is essentially the only major damage on the actual car's driver side, apart from a mix of dirt (probably paint applied by the effects crew) and superficial scrape marks:
I've yet to receive the model myself but would be intrigued to know if bullet holes have been added to the side of the exposed dashboard.
I've just got back from the Lake District and was more than a little disappointed to see the Bond Museum in Keswick has closed (luckily it wasn't the only reason for me going there). Apparently the whole thing, including the 'Cars of the Stars' sister collection (Batmobile, Dukes of Hazzard Charger, Chitty etc) has been shipped off to Florida, permanently. It's a real shame that the Bond cars couldn't have perhaps gone to a new home in the Pinewood Studios area, but I'm guessing our American friends will look after the collection and maybe appreciate it a bit more than has been the case over here. Last time I was there I overheard one person complaining "It's a lot of money just to see a load of cars" - probably the same sort of character who would think the Tutankhamun exhibition was a waste of money because the exhibits were a bit old. I was hoping to check out the QOS Aston and Alfa for more 'dings and dangs' detail (in particular the Aston's passenger side), but I have a few photos from previous visits, so I guess they'll just have to do. Florida's a bit of a swim from here.
When you compare the actual QOS Aston to the model,I think they have made a more than decent job of it.Oddly, there are bullet holes in the bodywork where the door was,but no holes in the rear window. What's the best way to put you own in?

I used a sewing needle, warm it up above a lighter or any flame at hand, and when it's hot press it into the glass for a second or two. Hope it helps (:

Either that or try using a hand driven micro-drill (hobby shops sell them, it's like a tiny drill bit clamped into a pen). Put some protective masking tape on the screen and mark out the holes with a pencil, drill slowly and carefully, then remove the tape after all the holes have been made. It's worth mentioning that whichever method you use, it's best to practice on some spare plastic first so you don't ruin the model. Yes, I know, adding bullet holes is technically ruining it but you know what I mean!!
I don't quite understand why UH apparently haven't used the bullet riddled screen from the first QOS Aston model.
Wow! Thanks for the link - that's a brilliant set of photos! Is the car there permanently?
It must have been used in a later stage of the QOS chase sequence than the one that was in the Bond Museum. The Heritage one has bullet holes in the windscreen whereas the Bond Museum one didn't, and I don't remember the same degree of damage to the passenger side front wing.
Bond Museum:
Heritage Museum:
The Bond museum vehicle has a roll bar fitted too, whereas I can't see it on the Heritage Aston - maybe the Heritage one was used for the final parking scene. Only a theory, but if Fabbri used the Bond Museum Aston for reference, which appears to have lesser damage to it, they were then probably correct to use the existing tunnel setting rather than the quarry setting to match the level of damage shown.
Any Aus subscribers know if we are getting the next 20? I just had a single $19.95 direct debit taken from my account, not the usual 39.90 (soooooo expensive). So that must be issue 110. But I would have thought Bissett would have just taken the money for 111 too... Plus has the Anglia turned up yet? I'm away for another 2 months so have no idea

Hi,
I got the Anglia a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how they are going to distribute the extension (i.e. 1 or 2 models a month, as I cancelled my subscription on #109.
Just hope a subscriber posts some detailed pictures of it. If lights and grille are corrected I will buy, if they are as seen on models leaked from China/Hong Kong I won't bother parting with good money for it.
Replacement Ford Anglia finally arrived yesterday, thankfully. It only took 25 days - not bad eh? I'm looking forward to the next model in the series, that should be due out this Wednesday I believe. 8-)

Hello Dickiebart,
I'm in Queensland. I received the following letter with my issue 108-
"When we announced that the James Bond Car Collection was coming to an end at issue 110 we were met with an unprecedented response. There have been countless requests for specific models that many thought had to be included as part of the collection in order for it to be complete. We are delighted to announce that the collection will be extended so we can include the most demanded models. These models will include Locque's Mercedes 450SEL from For Your Eyes Only, the laser carrying Dodge M-43 ambulance from Goldfinger, the VAZ-2106 from Goldeneye and several more besides.
Once again, thank you for your valued custom and we hope that you continue to enjoy The James Bond Car Collection.
The Publishers"
This doesn't say how many models per month though. Hope this helps.
Hi guys. Totally confused with the issue numbers and release dates to subscribers in the UK now. To date, 2/9/11, the last two issues i had delivered were 106 and 107. Seems like an age ago. Any UK subscribers had 108 and 109 yet? And, dare i mention it, the elusive Anglia? Will it just turn up or will i have to rant?
Since going monthly my account's all messed up, 104 & 105 over a month late, last delivery was 108 & 109 two weeks ago, yet still waiting for 106 & 107 (billed for four issues begining August) looks like i've been placed on the back order system.
No Ford Anglia, does anyone know if UK subscribers automatically get replacements or whether you have to request one.
Replacement was automatic...Fone them on Monday. -{ :007)
Finally up to date, Phoned on the 5th Sep and 106-107 arrived last Friday (30th) with the replacement Anglia

I recieved 108 and 109 in early Ausust along with the Anglia. I rang customer services on 24th September and was informed that the payment for 110 had been taken on the 20th September. Although as of 30th September has not appeared on my Credit Card???
Previously they said that they were reverting back to 2 per month from issue 111 and 112 would be sent with 111?
I finally cancelled my collection, got the final model 110 and have decided that is enough, this collection should have finished ages ago regardless of what the information said on the leaflet.
A large chunk of the models could have been left out of the collection with regards to their status in any of the films, it should have only been key vehicles in the collection IMHO. If they wanted more then they should have started a new collection allowing collectors to pursue the next set if they wanted, but at least you knew you had a complete collection if you stopped after the first set was complete. fifty cars a set would have been a nice number.
I totally disagree with this extension, especially after saying TWICE with printed leaflet information that the collection would finish at 110, hense my reason for terminating the collection. I doubt it will stop after the next 20 cars that have been added, then the next 20 after that and so on. I have about 20 cars on display and the rest are in the attic where most will stay for some time.
Something totally different, I did happen to see this last weekend at a garage I visited with the Lotus club I attend. Not the actual car, but one of the publicity cars, road legal with a Bond plate. They also had some other cars from the films, but I can't say.
After the garage visit, the Lotus club then attended Ken Wallis house and we got to see Little Nellie and Ken take up his gyrocopter. It was a private show for the club so we were all able to talk to ken for some time, a very nice man. He showed us the actual cases Nellie is bought into the room by Q assistants that he still has. He also signed postcards of himself in Little Nellie as he was the pilot in the film.
Ken now ready to taxi to the runway at his house. He's 95 years old! He has no fear.
The Lotus club at Ken's house.
Hummerth2 - thanks for the pics. I have a friend with a 1996 Esprit GT3 with some light modifications, and it's a great car. Good to see at least 3 Esprits in your picture.
As for the models, I phoned up Fabbri about the Anglia, and the lady on the phone seemed to know nothing about it at all, although she was very polite. After some persistence and explanation of what the situation is, she agreed to send one out, although I could well imagine that it's going to be an old copy of the one with the wrong film on the baseplate. We shall see.
At this point, the latest model that has arrived is the Chevrolet Impala Coupe. It's one of my favourite models so far.
Finally, I spotted this on eBay - seems someone has made their own interpretation of the Aston Vanish. Unfortunately not a clear casting, which is what I would love to see, but the idea of the mirrored effect rather than the transparent solution seemed to have its supporters. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250903342034?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
As Largo's T-Bird is now on Ebay I have tried to find a picture of the taillights. Kingsmodel has now a fourth photo showing the taillights - and guess what? They are correct for Largo's '65 T-Bird!
And sure enough, the '64 T-Bird from Goldfinger already has '65 taillights I have to say I never noticed this before as I keep my cars unopened and the taillights are almost invisible then. But I am quite disappointed now as I thought the GF T-Bird was a pretty good model. Well, I was planning to cancel my subscription anyway after #97 (that's one more delivery for me) and cherry-pick the rest.

This Vanquish is available from the factory in chrome finish, made by Ixo for an Altaya series of chrome models. The seller only silvered the windows and lights and tries to make a few bucks with this "Vanquish". To me this doesn't look very "invisible", more like a chromed car with silver windows
