Here here, I also hope the thread is still alive and well.
Who knows what lies ahead maybe a series 2 announcement much earlier than planned
When Eaglemoss realise the big dent in their income.
Happy New Year to The loyal JBCC thread ! Have a good one wishing you all happy , properous and much more diecast collecting 2013 !!!!!
I'll second both Rainier Wolfcastle and Diecast007...Happy New Year to all and I look forward to seeing the Code 3's!
RW, I would imagine Ixo will release a London police version UNLESS they do it with some other vehicle from the same era. One of Ixo's worst habits is just releasing one design (for all we know, they could go ahead and do the Volvo V70 London Metro Police) from a particular decade (or three) for a particular police department or fire department and then moving on and either not revisiting the idea or doing so after many years' time (look at the NYPD and LAPD cars they've done and will do, for example...they did a superb Ford Crown Victoria for the NYPD, then didn't do anything until they did a well-done but VERY obscure NYPD Auxiliary Ford Bronco II [I have a photo of the vehicle they modelled it on and if the entire NYPD has THREE of them, I would be surprised]; with the LAPD, they've been kicking the can down the road about a Dodge Charger, though finally revealed a superb 1950 Nash Ambassador Airflyte that you might see in about a dozen film noir flicks from the early fifties).
Just to echo everybody else, I'd like to say Happy New Year to everybody who reads or contributes to the forum and this thread - let's hope 2013 is a good one. In a way I guess we may end up being the 'guardians' of the JBCC until it is no doubt re-launched in some fashion (I haven't come across a dedicated JBCC forum anywhere near as strong as this one). So it's probably up to us to keep the interest alive in terms of the existing series and any further home-made additions or improvements we can come up with (anybody know of a decent GT40 that can replace the DAD issue?)

The first two have been on Ebay for a few weeks now. A London seller, and yes, he (or she: "auctionslady") has already sold the 1966 for up to $99.99 and the 1989 for $80. How much do they cost again?
Depending on just how far the Batman Automobilia series goes, it could actually present some interesting models if it includes vehicles as seen in the three Christian Bale movies. Granted, you might get 'Gotham City' on police vehicles but there's a lot of other cars too, such as unmarked cop cars and Bruce Wayne's Lamborghini:
Personally I have no interest in the comic book Batmobiles, but I will be keeping an eye on what real cars crop up in the 'back issues' as the series progresses.
(anybody know of a decent GT40 that can replace the DAD issue?)
{[]
I have a couple of GT40s. One of them is made by Best or Brumm or Bang or Box (one of those 4 Italian companies that seem to be semi-related in some kind of way - any ideas anyone? )
Another one is made by Jouef, a company which seemed to get absorbed by Universal Hobbies, but this GT40 has precious little in common with the one from the series.
A further point, someone mentioned www.modelcarworld.de , a very good site. They usually have a lot of models on sale; inspired by Dalkowski I bought a few heavily discounted Eastern Bloc cars which just arrived, and represent terrific value.
You have to be careful on gt40 there are two versions the 60s gt40 and gt40rv and the later retro gt40 replica which is a totally different vehicle. Can't find a gt40 bond on imcdb so not sure which was used. Best Box etc are all the original.
Evening folks. If anyone wants it The BCC came out today. All very deja vu as seven years to the day the JBCC kicked off. The cases are square not round, clearly that was the test issue. Have to say I quite liked the round cases, ah well. Picked up 5 copies as I won't be getting any more than issue 1 and maybe issue 2 with this series and if they ever do it in issue 178 the Batman and Robin Batmobile. Funny isn't it? The more things change the more they stay the same. Issue 1 only £2.99 Here's to the the JBCC Series 2 )
Yes, the round ones were the test issues (how many issues were released?) but the Ebay links were from the regular rectangular boxes. They have the first two issues already in stock.
Back to Bond: The GT40 on IMCDB is not under Ford but DMA as they apparently provided the replica for filming. I would list it under Ford, as I would assume that Colonel Moon's car is supposed to be a real GT40, not just a cheap replica.
The closest 1/43 models are from the 1968 and '69 Gulf Le Mans(-winning) cars. They are available from Spark and Ixo (and others). However, the front hood of those had one larger air outlet instead of the two smaller on the DAD replica. But that's a small difference. But there is no GT40 in Gulf blue/orange without racing numbers and sponsor logos. Decals are easily removed but what if the center stripe and racing roundel is one combined decal, or if the roundels and numbers are tampo printed?
The tampo prints bring me to the next point: What is the best method to remove them? Is there the "perfect" cleaner which doesn't destroy the paint underneath? I would like to remove the gold tampos from a Corgi LaFrance.
Now that the JBCC is finished I have a renewed interest to draw some decals for missing models. I have spent the last days searching for decal printers, and the German Druckeronkel ("printer uncle") sounds very interesting for modelers (I am not affiliated).
1 A4 sheet transparent water-slide decals in full colour and white and metallic (silver, gold or other) for €22 sounds very reasonable. What makes it complicated is that the guy wants a permission from every company whose logos are to be reproduced. This seems to be prohibitive for my needs when I think of Eon, Kenworth, San Francisco Ladder Truck Co., Aston Martin, Audi etc. and a few others, not Bond-related, to fill the sheet.
But maybe we will find someone else with a similar machine (Roland Versacamm VS-420) or an older Alps MD-/OKI DP-series Microdry printer.

No easy answer here. It will depend on what era and manufacturer the model is from. The basic rule is that the older the model, the more fragile the underlying paint is, so more care would be required. Some tampo printing may only need some alcohol-based solvent, others will need stronger ones (turpentine etc.). You will probably need to experiment on a small area first. There is also the option of using just a polishing compound, but in most cases it is best to remove the printing with a solvent, let the model dry very well (24 hours or more) and then use a very fine polishing compound, as even very gentle solvents tend to dull the area they are applied on. You will need a lot of patience (and luck!), but if done well, you will have a very unique model and a lot of satisfaction.

Great job! Wish this was part of the regular collection, however I doubt Ixo would be able to replicate the weathering very well - they are much better ar making showroom-condition models. I would only suggest that you improve on the weathering effect using some of the purpose-made products available from the likes of Tamiya or Humbrol. You could then achieve a much better effects of depth as well as replicate dust, mud or rust even more accurately. Did you make the upper deck removable?

Thanks Jag! Yeh I normally weather using dry brushing. This time I bought a Tamiya kit . The effect is good but not as I good as I would of liked.
Terrific Audi, Diecast007, and you're well on your way to a VERY well-weathered LALD bus. It's not for lack of actual skill, I'll say that. In fact, the bus already up there could pretty easily stay as-is. However, you may wish to know that, as Jag said, Humbrol does make some "weathering-geared" paints that allow for all kinds of effects such as rust, fresh mud vs. dried mud, and that SUPER-difficult effect of evenly-spread dust on the windows (this paint is technically transparent, but apply as you would any other "weathering" paint). I've got nothing against Tamiya, but prefer to use them on plastic models because they have a nasty tendency to flake off if not sealed on there with lacquer.
A further point, someone mentioned www.modelcarworld.de , a very good site. They usually have a lot of models on sale; inspired by Dalkowski I bought a few heavily discounted Eastern Bloc cars which just arrived, and represent terrific value.
All right, welcome to the most obscure subsect of the hobby! )
But seriously, MCW DOES represent a very good value so long as you live in Europe OR buy in bulk. If you live in the US and are following this thread, make sure to buy about 6-8 models to make the shipping fee (it's flat rate, but also VERY high; in the case of Ist Models, you're actually looking at a higher price for shipping than of the model itself!) seem reasonable.
Another great option in Germany for East Bloc stuff is Cars & Co. They literally have dozens of their own exclusives for Ist Models, usually for East Germany. If you know someone in Russia, then try for Ritmonexx, too. Their exclusives are pretty amazing.
Great job on the bus Diecast007! - it certainly looks totally in keeping with the JBCC and as Jag pointed out, it shows yet another fine model that was missed out. I hope any partwork company thinking of resurrecting the JBCC is taking notes of models like the bus. There's no reason why it shouldn't appear as two separate models - before and after the crash!
Re the GT40, thanks for the info, guys. I think the real car is a gem, almost as pretty as an E-Type, so it's a shame UH didn't do a better job of it.
I found a few interesting examples on eBay:
Revell
Ixo
Bang
Whether any of these can be altered to look more like the DAD vehicle is the big question, especially regarding the stickers etc.
BTW, the movie Batmobile (part 01) is in UK newsagents now. I picked some up from WHS but had to ask to see stock kept 'out back' because nearly all of the ones on display were broken!
Ok more shots of AEC . Did a bit of more weathering. Using an old lens cleaner spray dispenser I diluted some acrylic grey/sand then lightly sprayed over the whole model.
I think it looks adequate now. Not an exact replica of the bus I know but I am happy. I used the background of the Lald impala and enlarged using publisher. Job done
Thanks for feedback and comments
Hi guys, I have 31 bond cars from the collection, but I was wondering.....
Apart from eBay does anyone know any good websites to buy the bond cars and a reasonable price? As I really would like the sunbeam alpine and the aston martin DBS (casino royale) and (Quantum of solace) does anyone know of a website apart from eBay? Thanks

That back issues page has some issues - the issue numbers don't match up when added to the basket after #55 or so.
Nice going with the AEC Regent, DC007 {[]
If anyone's keen on an obscure Code 3, Oxford Diecast recently released a 1/43 1950s Humber Pullman:

I'm not saying it will be straightforward, though!

well, issue 134 landed today - the moonraker rolls royce silver shadow. The back page of the mag tells us that the collection has now concluded. its the end of an era in my opinion. i have looked forward to getting each and every model for this collection but would have liked to have seen a double decker or even a "single" decker as part of the collection

Converting this into a hearse would be some serious modelling - I guess I'll leave that for now ...
Something like this is more within my capabilities: A Neo Opel Senator B in dark red just like the goon car in the TND Hamburg car park scene with the BMW 750. The colour is the MCW exclusive, just needs the different plates (HH-F 7283).
And DC007, that bus is terrific! {[] Such an ugly rustbucket!
Is the box from the Dodge laser ambulance? I just would add the second headlight, it looks a bit strange without (and I've checked, in the film it still has both headlights after losing the roof). What a superb addition with the figures, background and weathering.
