Once we compile a list we could each re post photographs of the models. We are already approaching 20. I can see between us the unofficial code 3 collection could grow very quickly.
A thousand apologies to whomever created this - I can't remember who the credit should go to.
sorry - I just assumed that you were looking for the Little Nellie backdrop - apologies if you were after someting else!
Brilliant !
Are, so it was this picture.
I wish I could remember who posted originally becuse they did a good job.
Actually it wasn't this picture but thanks anyway . I wondered if anybody had a. Template as a file for the computer so I can get the sizing correct for inserts. However thanks again as this is perfect for little nelly. Cheers

I believe it was Scurr01 who posted that pic many moons ago. If memory serves, he also made a damaged QOS DBS by cutting the door out of the first version (no 58) LONG before the official doorless JBCC version (no 110) appeared. Could be wrong on both counts though!
Re templates for background inserts, I print out a photo bigger than the insert, then carefully mark around an actual spare insert on the printout, then cut out the shape as marked. Doing a practice run using a (cheaper) black and white printout first usually helps.

That Mustang picture on that link is never going to fit through that gap!
Oh my!!. I have`nt seen those pics for five years. I even lost my PhotoBucket page after my PC crashed and burned. Your quit right, that gap was way to small, but i was playing with perspective and it did`nt pan out. Still, its nice to see those old PhotoShop efforts again. Glad someone bookmarked it .
Regarding the tyres getting white/grey – I have to say I have not unboxed my collection so have no idea what my models look like, however I do own another partwork series and quite a few of the cars tend to accumulate this kind of residue on their tyres. The models are in a glass display cabinet, so definitely not airtight, and from what I noticed the grey stuff only shows up in winter, when it’s cold and humid, and never in warm weather. It is very easy to rub it off with a piece of cloth (or even your finger), and it does give the tyre a bit of a worn look, so I am not too concerned – I am just hoping that the tyres will not disintegrate over time.

Fantastic work on those backgrounds! - do you still have any of them as larger files than the ones shown on Photobucket or were they all lost when your PC died?

Stands a chance unfortunately. I have a number of Corgi models from the late 60s with the more realistic tyres that were fitted between the early 'ring' tyres and the later plastic 'whizz wheels'. Some of these tyres have dissolved into their base materials, leaving a hard shrunken tyre in a small drop of oil. Luckily, very good repro tyres are available and I'm sure that will the case if the JBCC tyres start to drastically deteriorate. The REAL problem will be if the tyres (being rubber, obviously) start reacting with the plastic wheel hubs causing damage to them too. That is what happened with the 60s Airfix James Bond DB5 model in many cases.

Sorry, what you see is all thats left from that period, i dont even have a Printer/scanner to produce more though i would like to. I would like to have done the Skyfall Aston in Bond lock up with M and Bond looking at it, similer to the Little Nellie one i did. I might get back into Photoshop anyway. It was fun putting those seperate elements together.

It would be great if you did get back into it - you've got a rare talent there! The Skyfall DB5 as you've described it would be terrific.

Well sir, you are a true gent. Your work finished off my Little Nellie an absolute treat! Thank you!
Regarding the tires, I think it depends on the climate you live in. I've had no such problems, but then, all of my models are literally so open that I have to dust them every month (and just dusted them yesterday...some of the ones in the photos of my layouts I'm going to post look ridiculous in terms of the dust all over them...I'm going to post them a bit later after responding to an email I just got!)! However, here's a tip from Brooklin and Western Models collectors that I thought would be good to pass on: keep rotating your wheels! I guess the Brooklin guys started to realize that after having a heavy, white metal model sitting on your shelf for a few years, the tires would start to flatten. As such, even though it takes longer with a diecast model for this to happen, you have the basic thing. Keep rotating the wheels or the tires will go flat. If you have resin models, they actually chemically interact with the resin base and if I were you, I would get them off ASAP and put them on a plastic base. If you don't, the bottoms of the wheels will literally glue themselves to the base.
Tony Ericsson, fantastic work with the backgrounds, too bad that you lost the artworks. Thank you for showing us what's possible.
The list of code 3's would be incomplete without the CR Texron tanker and the LTK Kenworth that Canuck007 posted earlier (p.86). Only now that I have the same truck model I can see how much work must have gone into that Kenworth.
So here are some of the vehicles I have been working on, I did the graphics on the vehicles myself. Too bad the TEXRON truck and the New Holland are 1:50 scale but that was as close as I could find.
Also where can I find figures that would go with some of these scenes, I saw the pics from the gentleman, I believe was from France, he has fantastic figures, does he make them himself?
I am including a Mercedes Ponton from goldfinger, I am going to use a Corgi OddJob figure, Rolls from OHMSS,
Rolls from FRWL
I will send some pics of vehicles that I would love to have a diorama, or two from 1967 Casino Royale, again please help me if you can with the backdrops
.......If you don't, the bottoms of the wheels will literally glue themselves to the base.
I have a vision of four upright tyres all by themselves, stuck to a base without the rest of the car - maybe it could be a solution to creating the DAD 'Vanish' !!
Good advice on turning tyres on model cars. I have vintage Corgi toys on glass display shelves and have to do that regularly to avoid flat spots on the tyres. I guess it's why so many new die-cast models are mounted slightly above their plinths, not quite touching them.

These are brilliant additions to our unofficial Code 3 JBCC . I dont worry too much about scale with 1/50 and 1/43. My code 3 LALD bus has Roger Moore driving it from the spy who loved me lotus and it looks fine. Artistic license.
The list of code 3 cars so far are magnificent. Missed opportunities there for Eaglemoss. I have few projects lined up so watch this space.
Just a note about the Batmobile series - number 02 (Adam West's classic TV Batmobile) is in UK shops today, but inspect it carefully before buying, the quality control is a bit lacking on this one. Watch out for missing parts, I found one with one of the rear parachute bags missing, the aerial at the back is twisted to one side on many examples and check the twin red lamps on stalks mounted on the top, many are bent to one side as well.
It's still a very nice model if you can find a good example, not up to Hot Wheels quality by any stretch, but far more accurate and detailed than Corgi's much loved version.
Does anyone know who's making the Batman Automobilia models?
Back to Bond - I bought a couple of JBCC models on eBay a couple of days ago for code3ing, both listed as 'mint condition in original unopened blister packs' which arrived today. You guessed it, both cases well and truly cracked. I'm beginning to think there's a lot of unscrupulous people out there trying to palm off damaged models as perfect just because they're still in the blister packs. I'm just glad I got them cheap.

Cheers for the heads up on the Batmobile. I MUST stop at issue 3. '89 Batmobile, 60's Batmobile and Tumbler then stop.

If you're after the TV and movie related vehicles, you might want issue 4 as well. I believe the Batman Automobilia series will be run on exactly the same basis in the UK as the JBCC - there will be a 'back issues' page on the website from which you can cherrypick or you can phone a number at Database and order. I'm guessing in amongst all the comic book vehicles there will be more movie versions (battle damaged Tumbler, Bat-pod etc etc) and TV versions (Bat-bike, Bat-boat etc etc) and there is also a note in the blurb that says they MIGHT offer the 'gifts' ('89 Shields Batmobile, Batwing) to non-subscribers.
SWJ - Superb work! You're going to end up with as many code3s as actual JBCCs before too long!
I particularly like the Dr. No Velox - great movie, great car. And the literary versions are really interesting to see, especially for someone like me who has all of the movies on DVD but only ever read a few of the books! ;% Would it be possible to post bigger photos of them?
BTW just how badly damaged is that Bentley? It looks kind of flattened
Hi, here are some pics of a Corgi American La France that I have chopped and rebuilt to look like the one from A View to A Kill. I still need to add a beacon light and the San Fran. fire logo, I need help obtaining the artwork, if anyone has any ideas that would be great, more to come!
