123James, thanks for the infomation, can these models be found on ebay?
Maybe our Mr. Dalko can help with sourcing some of the eastern block stuff?
SWJ, your stuff is fantastic as well, can you tell us more about the models and where to find them?
Thanks to everyone this is still going to be fun for a long time! Maybe eaglemoss will get series 2 going soon, all they need to do is take a good look at this thread...it's a no brainer for them!!!
OK - a brief overview of what and where.
DB5 from CR - is the Minichamps model which I’d had for a while.
MB 220S - not sure where this came from - probably a model fayre. It’s actually all plastic, rather than dicast but I can’t remember the make at the moment. It is very detailed.
Vauxhall Velox - Vanguards - seems to be available quite readily from eBay - about 15-20 quid.
Jaguar XK140 - I just happened to have this one knocking about but I’ve seen them on eBay.
Alfa Romeo 8C - From Ebay and cost me about £8 + the P&P (from Italy I think) - but wwas no more than £15
MB 300S - Minichamps - excellent detail - again from eBay - I think this cost me £10 incl p&p!
ZIS - ebay - a Russian make, I can get the wife to translate the Cyrillic if you like?
Lancia Flaminia - again eBay. Cost about a tenner plus p&p from Italy.
The Cord is a Matchbox - not the greatest detail, but does the job - again eBay, but from sometime ago.
My previous NSNA & 1967 CR vehicles have come from a mixture of eBay and local fayres.
I rarely pay more than £20 for a model - if you are willing to sit tight, a bargain will eventually turn up!
The Bentley 41/2 litre from the CR novel was a Brumm that had got trodden on (just don’t ask!) a long time ago and had been sat at the bottom of the draw until I had the idea of paining grey and mounting on a JBCC diorama.
I’d thought of doing the Alfa 156 from QOS, and having seen the pictures I’m determined to have one too!
I’ve picked up a lot of second hand issues off eBay. Essentially I managed to get a batch of 16 for about £27, and then a batch of 12 for about 20 quid. I’ve also had some replacement issues over the years after the originals arrived with cracked bases, scratches etc.
Tony - God bless you for your work! If you can, please make my wish come true, and create a diorama for DB5 form CR - the perfect background would be an entrance to Craig's bungalow at night. And since there is a blue Minichamps Mondeo - it screams for a proper diorama made by professional!

I`m on it! It may have to be outside the main building as Bond comes out to collect the DB5 as i`m coming up short on photos of the villas at The One & Only Club. Hope thats close enough for you. Also i`m half way done with the "Vanish" Aston background in Q`s lab. May be a day of so as i only found a few hazy pics to work from so i`m using those shots as a guide and building up the station from scratch, (with curving walls and perspective??), I seriously doubt this one will be first time lucky. Anyway, I`ll post them as i make them.
ZIS - ebay - a Russian make, I can get the wife to translate the Cyrillic if you like?
Transliterates to "Nash Avtoprom", which means "Our Auto Industry." I have the SSSR AvtoLegendy version, also by Ixo, and I'm also betting you'll see "Sdelano v Kitae", which means "Made in China."
Dalko - I'm not surprised it took so long to take photos of such a huge layout, it looks amazing, thanks for posting the pics Any idea how many cars you've got now? Will you be buying the Emoss '66 Batmobile? Apparently people are running around in exact replicas of it in the US, so it could feasibly go on your layout with a 'civilian' driver.........
Thanks! I have easily 2,000+ 1/43 scale models as well as Dinky and classic Corgi. For the most part, the photos I posted show the JBCC vehicles I have only, although I realized I missed three! If you have any questions about any models, feel free to ask. Regarding the Batmobile...I gave it thought, but just could not bring myself to put a Batmobile on my layout. I have J.F.K.'s X-100 on there and even a few models that were custom made FOR me (the Scaldia-Volga M24D Sedan in blue is a one-off custom using Ixo and handmade parts otherwise made to my specifications), but you gotta draw the line somewhere.
Looks like EM's strategy is to make up for the lost releases by making the existing collection available in new markets. All it takes is getting the mags translated. Wonder if they will be releasing all models there (at this stage the website says that 60 issues are planned). Who's next - Russia? Poland?

Now this really is interesting. I'm married to a CZ so we visit quite alot. I'll need to keep an eye open as occasionally some shops drop the prices of these works to get rid of them if they have a lot in stock.
An email to the mother-in-law I'm thinking........

I have been told that newsagents there are full of whatever the current issue is at the moment.
Hi, here are some pics of a Corgi American La France that I have chopped and rebuilt to look like the one from A View to A Kill. I still need to add a beacon light and the San Fran. fire logo, I need help obtaining the artwork, if anyone has any ideas that would be great, more to come!
Canuck, your code 3's are fantastic. I admired your Kenworth before but it looks so much better in the diorama you made. Great work, as is your LaFrance. Did you did use the Boston engine? I will leave the cab on mine as is, or maybe I will convert my old childhood LaFrance with the wheels of the Boston version and make a roof for this one. (The old Corgi 1143 is a short cab at least.)
I rectified the slight distortion and made the background a uniform red so it is possible to be printed - although the red won't match exactly. I plan to redraw it in Illustrator and make proper decals with gold ink but this will take some time.
The DIAL 911 shield I have done after AVTAK screenshots, I just replaced the outline typeface with a light grey one as the outline would probably become too thin when printed.
2 domelights for $2.75 - the other one can be used for Sheriff Pepper's Impala. Well, that's what I'll be doing with my other domelight but I think I will leave the car a Bel Air. I have back-ordered a Impala Custom Coupé which could donate the Impala front and rear and the correct wheels and white-line tyres for Pepper's car but I think I will keep the Custom Coupé untouched for now. I have not bought it before as the ones I saw had some silver paint blobs on the white roof.

I notice they haven't translated the base captions, so it's probably old UK stock being shipped over to Eastern Europe. It would also explain why 'back issues' 1-90 have suddenly become much harder to get from the Database Factory in the UK.
Moviecarfan you may of missed a previous post of mine if you go to the Eaglemoss website you can back order issues 1 -113 and most are readily available. Looks like database is winding down on the jbcc front.
I am still missing issue 121 , where is the phone ?

I tried that and all I could find was a link to Database or the (now redundant) Fabbri website. Are you ordering online or by phone?
The Czech Republic and Slovakia has thus far been the only market NOT to warm up to Ixo's attempts (which are pretty half-hearted, honestly) to market an East Bloc car partwork there (although ironically, they have welcomed the Ixo-for-Foxtoys exclusives, the Ist Models range, as well as the Abrex-marketed by-Ixo exclusives). Taking the well-liked Polish partwork and simply giving it new license plates worked in Hungary because Hungary bought a ton of Polish and East German cars. But because Ixo could only make ONE East Bloc era Skoda due to Abrex's exclusivity clause with them (sort of; they can make Skoda-LIAZ trucks), Kultovni Auta CSSR basically flopped. I'd not at all be surprised if they're packing it in and trying the JBCC there. They'd also make a killing off secondary market sales to Russia and Poland.

Interesting. Issues 1 and 3 have been swapped so the Lotus is No.1 and DB5 No. 3.
Obviously the magazine is translated into Czech language.
Well that'll keep them busy for a couple of years-if it's 60 issues.
On another point, I wonder how many of the model cars are ones that are only driven by Bond.
Will have to do a count up sometime.
Bleuville. "You have connections not open to me. Where is Ernst Stavro Blofeld?" Bond to Draco in OHMSS.

Tony did you get my private message ? Cheers diecast007
Messages received and backgrounds complete. Once again, if someone can do a black & white cheap printout first to check the scale and perspectives and let me know if changes are needed,( I`ve been doing it by holding the model against the PC screen. Lo-tech or what?). Hope they work out for you. Gonna have a look at the Skyfall police car scene that was requested now.

I second that - amazing work!
Glad you like them, always happy to help out. Just one thing. If you use them and they do work out the way i hoped, could you post a photo for me to see please? Without a scanner or printer, it`ll be a while before i get to use them myself. Thank you for your kind words and please keep your suggestions coming. I could be that this forum is far from over yet

Is the DAD background essentially just a screen cap? If there was PhotoShop work involved and a version minus Brosnan and Cleese was available, I'd love to see that only because when I envisaged the diorama, I was imagining incorporating actual figures.

Here you go, an version where everyone has "vanished". And yes, it is essentially a screen cap, only several screen caps blended together and shaped to fit in to creat a whole. Good luck with the figure version. Please post a pic.

In case anyone missed my layout photos since there's been so much posting activity (which is good, don't get me wrong!) they're on the lower-middle of page 233. Any questions, comments, criticisms...go right ahead!

Check out the Hot Wheels Elite 1.43 version - it's twice as good and still available at reasonable prices.
