For those who missed it on TV or couldn't view it through the internet, the Top Gear Bond Cars DVD has been released. I can thoroughly recommend it to all:

Nice work on the big set of Code3 photos D007, it must have taken ages loading all those - but don't they look good?! {[]

    Fantastic

    Hello,
I change the background of the Volskwagen from Skyfall. It look very good. Thansk Tony! ;)
I have small change to do because the ground is bigger than JB collection and need some adaptation, but is is very nice. I didn't had that idea ...
I think that the title of your picture, Tony has a error on the brand 'Volkswagen'..

    Skyfall_Volskwagen_New_Beetle_01.jpg

An other idea very close to the Tony's idea... made few year ago with a model from an other collection.

    Aston_Martin_Die_another_day_01.jpg

I have other ideas and will exchange on that later...

    Please enjoy. Bye.

Heard on the news that production of the next bond instalment is scheduled for the latter part of this year with release likely in 2014! Lots more code3 opportunities.

As Jbcc fans we have produced 70 code 3 models even reducing the number to 60 due to duplicates that is 30 months worth of releases which would have taken the collection to June 2015. There is potential for at least six more vehicles in SKYFALL and who know what the next film will bring. A new bond car as the (spoiler) db5 was culled off. All sorts of possibilities .

    Hi Denis
Glad you liked the background, the car does look very good on it and i like the way you have matched the base to the background. This did seem like the obvious choice of scene to place the car in. The one you used, as good as it was, was from a production still that featured a line of spare cars to be used in the action scenes. I have checked my spelling and I believe that the car is called a Volkswagen. I did enter the spelling as "Volskwagen" as you suggested but the search corrected me and displayed a picture of a Volkswagen! I love what you did with the Vanquish, a very nice display indeed. Keep up the great work, Denis. Cheers {[]

Surely what happened with the DB5 in Skyfall can't be a spoiler any more can it? Hasn't everybody seen the movie by now???? If anybody here hasn't seen it, stick your hand in your pocket and buy the DVD for goodness sake!!!

I wonder if Eaglemoss are seeing the error of their ways yet. The Batmobile series will now be coming out of the movie/TV early numbers (very good apart from quality control BTW) and into the comic book versions which were highly questionable in the sales stakes. If Batman hasn't come to their rescue, I hope they're not too proud to dismiss the idea of a JBCC series PART TWO.

I noticed that issue 5 is a comic book Batmobile and not the fifth movie car from Batman And Robin. Wonder how long they will hold that back in order to flog the comic book cars. Would be kind of ironic if the batmobile from the worst of the movies ends up becoming E-Bay gold dust because all people want is the "Famous Five" !
    me included!!

Just covering myself re spoiler in this age of litigation lol.

Remember the response I got from Eaglemoss suggested a series 2 collection. Maybe if any Eaglemoss read this thread it may inspire discussion at the boardroom. I have subscribed with the batman collection for my little boy . I am still waiting for issue 1 !!! I think issue 4 is out in the shops now . Face value it looks good but I have seen a few with broken pieces rattling inside the box. I agree beyond the first few I don't think the cartoon cars will have any legs for extention of collection.

However this has inspired an idea, what about some code 3 fantasy bond cars and villan vehicles . Coupled with Tonys backgrounds . Could be fun !

Is`nt that what we are doing, of do you mean to include more of the other vehicles such as aircraft, subs, boats and spacecraft? If so, I`m game to provide the backgrounds as usual, especially spacecraft. No perspectives in space so the backgrounds are a doddle! :)
  • Diecast007Diecast007 Posts: 576MI6 Agent
Yes we are doing that which is great keep them coming.
No I think there is room to add to the collection with fantasy vehicles. Ones we would like to have seen in a bond movie. Bond's car was discussed in much detail leading up to the release of
SKYFALL with suggestions including the new lotus , jag xk , Maserati, Aston Martin . I might try a few with your help with backgrounds if you are up for it ?

In short anything to keep this going as I think the code 3 's are great!

Well that sounds like an idea that could open the Code 3s up in a whole other direction. We are not bound by any hard and fast rule here. I`m willing to help out in order to continue this thread and friendship for as long as people enjoy it. This is more than just displaying cars now, its about displaying your imaginations and your skills. Long may you continue {[]

LOL!! That pic is another possible Skyfall spoiler! :)) - I know D007 and Tony have been suggesting Bond items above and beyond the cars but I think that might be going a little too far!!

LOL. No fashionable Bond fan should leave home without one. Now lets call it a tie and get back to the broom brooms :p

by the way, i have that Vanquish in chrome. I might try that in the tube station display as it "de-cloaks"!

    Hello,

The "official" JB collection gave us some different vehicles such as 'Acrostar'... (a good one in fact)..
So now, we can include in our Code 3 some different vehicles...
I found this one on Ebay and make a diorama.

    Moonraker_Bell_206_Jetranger_01.jpg

    One more code 3...

More from the 'Literary' collection. Enjoy.

    SDC12759.jpg

I could have labelled it the 'blink and you'll miss it Minx' from the film, but went for the one featured in the novel as Bond actually drove that one! (But I did get the same colour scheme as the movie version....just in case :) )

If we did "Colonel Sun", does that mean we're going to see a John Gardner novel where the, umm, "Silver Beast" appears? It would make a truly awesome diorama...although I must say that the concept of a mid-80's Saab 900 Turbo with more gadgets than the Aston Martin is probably something that would play better in the books than on the big screen. :))
By the way, are you gonna eat that?

I just love Code 3s from the books, very `novel` idea. The different book pictures on the back is a great idea, and even the style of printing on the base seems to suit these additions perfectly. I look forward to seeing many more. Such a pitty that we cant all look forward to owning one. I will miss those big brown boxes. {[] Cheers to you, and to many more.

P.S. The Austin A 30. My first car, (no, i`m not that old, only the car was!) Bought at 18 for 15 pounds towed to my house, never moved again, swapped it for a jacket!!. Not very James Bond :)

Tony - I have one more question for you. Are you able to make one more "big scale" diorama? It's gonna be my last model - no more free space left at shelves :-/
Yes, it's predictible, I am asking about Casino Royale model :-)
Do you remember Merc which almost killed Bond? It was S class, W221 (IMCDb confirmed). Good thing is that it's easy to find a good model for relatively small money.
    http://exchanges.ucoz.ru/IXO/IXO_MERCEDES-BENZ_S500_S_500_V8_2006_black.jpg
    http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/jter/DSC_0006.jpg or even autoart

All I need is a big-boxed version of a Casino Royale exterior at night. It's gonna be tricky one, becouse Casino Royale is not Hotel Splendide :-/ There could be even poisoned Craig in the background :-)

(It has to be Autoart becouse of beige-brown interior)

You mean the long box and a scen similer to the one i did for the daimler but of the poison sequence? Bond staggers across the street and bounces off the bonnet of this car, yeah? If so, not a problem. But i`m alarmed to hear you are stopping. Gonna miss your additions to the Code 3s :( I`ll make it a good one for you :)
  • lj1989lj1989 Posts: 23MI6 Agent
Yes, night version, but completly diffrent angle - from the Casino side. Something similar to the DBS insert.
I do have problem with limited space at shelves, but don't worry - I had same problem last year and I ordered two more of them from a carpenter :))
So I think sonner or later (rather sooner) I will be back with collection :-)

I loved the Code 3 Ford Corsair,so i have bought the silver version from Hongwell. The trouble is there are transfers either side saying "MotorArt".Any ideas how to remove these without damage. They spoil what otherwise is a tidy little model for the money in my opinion.

Glad you liked the Code3 Corsair!

The 'Motorart' logos on the silver Corsair look to me like they might be waterslide transfers. If they are, then what I would try first would be this: Lay the car on its side. Take an ordinary tissue, soak it in warm soapy water, squeeze out the water until it's a soggy lump, then lay it fully over the transfer. Leave it there for 20 minutes and hopefully it should start lifting the transfer. If the transfer breaks up leaving bits behind, go through the process again, then clean it up with a cotton bud.

Let us know how you get on -

At over £40 a pop for a 1:43 Saab 900 I think that one will have to wait - but I do have a Shelby Mustang in mind from For Special Services......... ;)
