Tony once again perfect!!! Well done ! I have a small stock pile of backgrounds now just waiting for various models to arrive . Will be posted here very soon thanks again cheers
Just rang The Database Factory to chase up a couple of missing orders made back in January and was told both were no longer available, my order couldn't be fulfilled, so I was given a refund.
OK, so I looked on Eaglemoss's website where both issues were apparently available and rang them to double-check availability. The person I spoke to said I was talking to Database again and not only were both issues actually out of stock but also they "are not selling back issues to anyone who isn't a subscriber". So, they're shown as being 'available' online but they're actually out of stock and you can't buy them anyway.
The phrase 'Couldn't organise a p*ss-up in a brewery' comes to mind.
Not good!!! I ordered some back issues and only got three out if the six. What ones did you order and not get?
79 and 90. The attitude at Database seems to have gone from helpful to somewhat indifferent, so I guess they're finally winding up. What I don't understand is why Eaglemoss would go to the bother of setting up a new online shopfront for the models based on the old Database stock which is dwindling away to nothing. It doesn't make any sense.
If you are waiting for cars, I'd give them a ring to find out if they've actually got them. If not, they may be hanging on to your money until you ask for it back.
Not being able to source the models so easily any more is going to make creating Code3s all the more difficult, unfortunately. It's very noticeable that prices for JBCC models are definitely on the rise on eBay, even ones with damaged cases. I assume people/dealers are making the most of these models technically being obsolete, and therefore more valuable, before they are re-issued in some form.
It's ok now :-) The car that I mentioned was on german plates ) I meant license plates from the previous generation (before 2007). All I could find was generator with actual plates (very similiar to UE).

My friend in the UK placed an order for the Ford Anglia for me on 31 January, using the Eaglemoss Shop site (the Fabbri site was gone by then) and he emailed recently to say that it had arrived safely and that it WAS the version with the correct DN base {[]
So I guess I was lucky with my one and only experience with the UK backorder system!
This week I picked up Issue 107 (LTK Roller by UH) from the newsagent - that's where we are up to now. No shortage of them (the first newsagent I tried had 4 available) but OMW what bad QC None of the ones I looked at were up to scratch in terms of the aerials/mirrors/wipers/radiator mascot being mounted straight, so I settled for one with bad wipers as I figured that would be the easiest to correct.
SWJ...wow, nicely done DB5! Looking at some of the burn marks where it appears to be more genuinely scorched than weathered, did you ACTUALLY scorch it (I'm guessing you used a vice or hammer for the roof)? If so, how (I'm going to scorch a model myself and have found you can do it with various kinds of lighters, candles, and matches)?

It was fairly easy.
1. Dismantled the car. Although I left the exterior fittings.
2. Hammer on the roof.
3. Take the body outside. Dowse with lighter fuel. Add a match. et voila! I did this on a slightly breezy day so that when it caught light this fuelled the flames nicely. Additional lighter fuel as necassary (careful not to set light to the fuel can of course!)
4. I let it burn for about 3-4 mins. Then blew the flames out. Leave for a while until cool obviously!
5. Now comes the trickiest and most dangerous part of all. Venture into the bathroom, open the wifes bathroom cabinet and extract a can of hairspray! (yeah I know a feat worthy of 007 himself - it's amazing how much 'stuff' women need!) Spray this over the car - the lacquer will ensure that the soot won't rub off when you handle the car.
6. Use plenty of glue to put the windows back in - this gives a nice grubby look to the windows. Replace the base.
In addition I cut the bottoms off the tyres to make them look flat, I even ripped one tyre and rim off and glued it on at an angle for a more mashed up look.
To be honest I could do with a better background card showing Skyfall up in flames.

Thanks SO much! With it being very cold and wet outside right now, I think your method sounds good and idea.
Hello all,
For your eyes and imagination only - Here some 007 cars scenes
What I like about these is the concept of putting cars together to re-create a scene rather than just having a solo vehicle in its own setting. I reckon if something like the new Batmobile type cases were used, it might be possible to pair cars up (DB5 + Merc 180, Citroen + Peugeot, Vantage + Lada, Vanquish + Jag, DBS + Alfa etc) which would take the Code3s one step further. If anyone has a spare larger case and some time on their hands, perhaps creating a twin car diorama is something to consider - I'm sure Tony could no doubt be persuaded to create new/re-sized backgrounds (!)
That Audi is awesome. Brilliant team effort Tony and D007. This is better than most of the cars in the collection....
For those using backorders from eaglemoss web site I have just got a couple I wanted inc a second aston V8 to donate tyres. I notice that both the cars I bought have some pretty ragged painting.
Still waiting for 132/133 despite them having cash ages ago. And my replacement 129 is always a few weeks away every time I phone. Just wish I had ordered 2 in the first place and maybe I would have been able to cobble up one good one then.

Thanks, the Audi is a Norev which I ordered via AUDI UK . It came in a very nice AUDi branded box complete with an invoice from AUDi . Ill be honest this will be the only time a buy a car from Audi ( don't like them) . However as a code 3 it is quite a special car and a key car in SKYFALL and indeed the James Bond genre. Another missed opportunity from Eaglemoss
I still can't make good photos, but belive me, this one is a beauty! It's gonna stay at my desk.
Much more in Skyfall style than a 133 IMO.
Once more - thank you, Tony.
Thank you everyone for the great additions. Diecast, could you tell use a little more about your diorama - which base did you use and where the figures came from?
And Tony, a special thank you from me for your how-to guide. The early steps weren't surprising but what you did with the floodlights and interior lighting is spectacular! -{
I still can't make good photos
Just like me but that hasn't stopped me ... )
I hope it is still allowed to post a code 1 instead of a code 3 ...
From past the last issue back to before the first - the good luck wishes of D110, FACT and MCF (page 160) must have helped as I have managed to get a Norev Jaguar XKR from the French test series.
As always, a few days after that I saw another one from France but the guy wouldn't answer me if he'd ship outside the country, and that one sold for only €2. Was without the blister, though.
Not really much to say about this model - the Norev and UH cars are so similar they could easily be swapped without anyone noticing. The background looks the same except that the blue tint has been reduced for the later release.
As said before, the UH base is more convincingly sculpted and painted but in reality the Norev base is not too bad.
The pictures from above show that the cover behind the seats is darker than its surround on the Norev, lighter on the UH. I have only noticed this on the pictures, not the cars.
And to get over with the "French Collection", I have finally got the Norev DB5 in the blister. I had missed the end of an auction (page 155) and it got sold with one bid for only €1. 8-)
Fifteen months later I got the very same model I had missed, of course after several bids and a fifteenfold price increase. But €15 (+ shipping) isn't a bad price, considering a current issue is €14. Strange that I have only twice seen a sealed Norev DB5, and both turned out to be the same. Should this be the last survivor in the world?
Comparison of Norev (above) and Eligor DB5 graphics: There's a space after the gun logo on the Norev, and the TM is larger.
The Eligor shows the addition "Made in China" which, I think, confirms that the Norev DB5 came earlier. The form of the blister is indeed the same, although the Eligor blister has yellowed somewhat in the meantime.
Issue 2 shows another addition: Unsuitable for those under 14 years old. Yes, the poor children can only handle Playstations and Smartphones but not a model car. )
And finally a comparison of the graphics between Norev issues 1 and 2, showing the faint and later bold outline shadow of the gun logo.
More than two years and 150 pages have passed since I first posted about the "French Collection" - no more follow-ups, I promise.
Some great Code 3's coming through, well done to you guys! I'm especially interested in the SF "could have beens" so I really like that A5 setup, DC007 as well as LJ's garaged DB5.
Great to see the conclusion of the French test series, RW - now we all have a photographic record of the origins of this collection that has occupied so many years and hours of our time! Thank you very much! {[]
Although not strictly on topic, it would nevertheless be interesting to hear from some of the former JBCC eBay sellers how the Batman sales are going in comparison. I know the one guy (not Chris C) used to post on this thread from time to time but I've forgotten his AJB name. Looking at his "completed listings", though, it appears he sold #3 at the cost of price of £9.99 (as there have only been single bidders) and his #4's & 5's are currently unsold.
Tony, please no, not the magic carpet!! That has to be one of the cheesiest Bond moments outside of any of Sir Roger's films
I have managed to get a Norev Jaguar XKR from the French test series.
Congratulations! There's always a certain something that comes with completing a collection that's genuinely difficult to find that you've been looking for for multiple years. For me, it's always been a combination of "finally!" as well as just a tiny bit of "now why didn't they do just one more?"
By the way, regarding the paint being the same in real life but different on the camera, I'm fairly certain I can explain that. It has nothing to do with photographic effects. It's just different paints formulated to look the same. Compare, for example, PCT's gloss white (think Premium X Diecast or Ist) with Minichamps' gloss white. Even if the two look completely identical to the eye, even side-by-side, they will photograph quite differently. Another two good brands to compare for resin models are TrueScale and Neo (unless they're using gloss black, Neo will almost without exception VERY slightly photograph darker than it appears; TrueScale will pretty much without exception photograph literally as it appears in real life).
Also interesting to note that the Norev doesn't really seem to be drifting all that hard on the base (when compared to the UH, anyway), though the base itself seems markedly stepped up from their previous issues.
Question............. What do you do if you have a badly damaged casing and base which you don't feel is good enough for a nice model?
Well, just for a giggle.....................
Ignore the backing card - it's temporary until I find something better.
I put all other projects on ice to do this for you. Hope you dont give it a frosty reception. ( told you i would pun it up on the Roger Moore ones!)
No idea what the submarine was actually called so i`m calling it Sub-Zero....what else?
RW - thanks for your post on the JBCC variants, it's a fascinating read and congratulations on completing that collecting quest! B-) And I think the thread still has plenty of room for any comments on the standard issues, the books and the movies in general - it's not all about Code3s alone.

I was re-casing No. 19 -the MGB and wondered if a duplicate of the Roger Moore figure could be used in the Bondola ?
or is it too big ?

The car door can be closed.
Anyone would like to do that, I am paying in cash
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
What generation plates do you need?
First, some better burnt out DB5 photos

Very nice work - this seems to be "Let's be unkind to Bond cars" week! Apart from the two damaged cars I particularly like the gadget-less Jag.
Do you require a background for a Lotus project? Your " the car door can be closed" comment
suggests that you want someone to create the whole thing.
It was fairly easy.
1. Dismantled the car. Although I left the exterior fittings.
