Think that the ford is probably from yat ming road legends series of budget models. Sell in UK for part work type prices and are pretty good for price.
Maz hits it on the nose. MovieCarFan, I would HIGHLY recommend their 1957 Chevy Nomad; it's one of the best values you can get for that price and even better than most diecast '57 Chevys.
Thanks for your help guys. Funny you should mention the Chevy Nomad, Dalko, I actually picked up three of these cars from a toyfair for £4 each, the Ford Victoria as shown, a black '58 Edsel and the Nomad in turquoise(!). And yes, it's a very nice model. I've looked up Yat Ming on eBay and the Turnpike Cruiser looks VERY tempting. Is there a website devoted to models like these?
I am really pleased , this was made for me by GMFX a special effects company
In Glasgow. The company has a creature shop containing many items weird and wonderful and
Truely gruesome including the baby from train spotting. They also do alot of props for TV including Taggart etc etc. the car has come out really well.
The above pictures show the prepared Jbcc Aston. The interior was removed and filled
With clay. The guns were removed and all the gaps sealed. Any rough edges were smoothed off.
A cast of this model to create a mild then a trial run was made shown above. The car came out too opaque. Another two runs were made using a different formula giving the end product
So there it is. I have had two made and will be selling the second one .

That is spectacular, what a result! And so worth the wait - you must be over the moon with it! The way the model is displayed and lit in the last pic is superb. Well done to yourself and the people at GMFX.
I would imagine however much you ended up paying for it you will probably get back by auctioning the second copy! {[]
Diecast 007, you have raised the bar, my friend . That "Vanish" is *@$!+@ awesome. Congrats to you and all involved. I cant see that one going for £7.99 and free postage but it would have been a far better final issue than we ended up with. I`m looking forward to seeing more photos of your and others Code 3s. I know i have made more backgrounds than i have seen posted here. What became of the Live And Let Die bus to name one? Speaking of backgrounds, it is unlikely that i will be able to produce any more in the future. I recently part exchanged my DVD collection for the Bond 50 Blu Ray set which unfortunately dont play on my PC . I will, however continue to watch this forum with interest. I hope that Eaglemoss will too. Because if they ever wondered if there was a point in continuing this collection, then D 007 has shown that the answer is "transparent". All the very best
Thanks for all the great Feedback ! I am really pleased with the model. I now have a second for sale. If you are interested please PM . This was a long expensive project so I am looking for a fair offer.

Been reading thee thread form the start recently but had to comment - the Vanish looks brilliant, reminds me of specialised figures from the Trek ans Wars range. - Def a stand out addition to the collection alongside the sub mode Wet Nellie and "Brace yourself" TLD DBS!
I have been dabbling with the idea of getting a few of the cars for myself. - One for each Bond actor. Considering how long ago the collection started, have I left it too late?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
Thanks thunderbird 2. The Vanish was an idea I had inspired from starwars figures I collected
many years ago. I have a contact who happens to be in the special fx industry and full credit must go to him for the example photographed. I think the car looks amazing , if I say so myself . This is one that Eaglemoss should have produced and ended the collection with IMHO. This was an expensive project that took six months from idea to completion.
You certainly will be able to get examples of a car driven by each bond on eBay etc. try also Eaglemoss shop they may still have examples available for back order.
The DB5 is incredibly rare in the UK too, I've seen a few at shows, car museums etc but have only ever seen one out on the road once, a metallic blue example in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
DB5 is nice, but it's surely not that rare - I have seen 3 on the road in the past year (one silver birch, one silver and one metallic mid blue) as well as two DB4s (light and dark metallic blue) and a DB6 Volante (dark metallic blue) also in the past year, and I have not been seeking them out, all have been chance encounters. There was also a somewhat tired maroon one parked on the street in Oxford that I used to see pretty much every week when I lived there. If I spent more time in Central London I would expect to see about one DB4/5/6 every two weeks or so, based on the experiences of my friends who live there.
As for the invisible 1:43 Vanquish, it's sensational - what a great job. I would think you could ask £200 or so on eBay for the second example and have no trouble selling it.

You've obviously had more luck spotting them than I have then (!) although I'm wondering if the mid-blue metallic DB5 you saw might have been the same one I saw driving through Ashbourne. It's possibly a north/south divide thing, no doubt the high value of them means they are more likely to be seen in the wealthiest parts of the country, especially London.
Makes you wonder how many DB5s are registered in the UK.
If you look at my thread on "Customizing the James Bond Car Collection" you'll see I did my est work on this truk with flowers, two figures (the thug from the Dodge Truck from "Licence to Kill" and Bond and Tanya from the Vantage in "The Living daylights" going up the ramp in the snow) Please check it out and let me know what you think...
Actually, I am giving thought to adding a Tania ... but that also means I'd really need a Bond and SPECTRE agent in the cab ...
The same company as makes the figures in my earlier post also make landscaping in various scales. The flowers are already in hedgerows and just need trimming to fit; one #305 pack fills the bed as you see it.

Thanks for sharing the Vanquish photos! The cast is beautiful, and the model would make a great ornament, but I can’t imagine one like it as part of JBCC. The simple reason is that it looks like a car made of ice rather than invisible, and as such is not an accurate representation of the movie vehicle.
Thanks Jag, there lies the problem. This was the best solution that we came up with as how do you make something look invisible , as my first attempt an empty box was regarded as just an empty box !!!Using the resin gives the representation of a physical car. As others mentioned its a nod to starwars figures and Star Trek figures. This was not a simple case of casting the car this was trial and error with a number of attempts to get the mix right . The car itself had to be prepared removing guns , open windows, the door mirrors also proved an issue as they kept on breaking . Yes an ornament out of context but are all diecast cars not just ornaments anyway !!! The feedback I have had has generally been positive and I think most people subscribing to the collection would have welcomed a model like this rather than the poor roller, moggy or blunderbird. Yes it won't appeal to everyone but I'm a pleased with the result and happy that most not all like it as much as I do . Cheers :-)

Hi Shran007, welcome to the thread! I just had a look at the thread you mentioned and I would suggest that you re-post all of the photos again on this thread, which is now very much associated with customising the JBCC models. It would be great to have your models added to our growing collection -{
there are 282 DB5's (as at 2012) registered in UK. Great website howmanyleft.co.uk Type in the make and it tells you how many are registered.
Just as a comparison only 46 marinas left lol
According to Wiki 1,023 DB5s were made so 282 is quite a large proportion still in the UK (useful info there for anyone taking part in a trivia quiz)
Is that 46 Marinas left 'on the road' or 46 that still haven't been found and flattened by the Top Gear guys? )
Yes, that makes sense - I thought they were not super rare, in the UK at least. I also think that the DB5 is pretty useable and so people who own them actually drive them, unlike a lot of valuable cars. So that's probably why I saw a few of them. Thinking of super-rare cars, I have only seen two Ferrari Enzos being driven (excluding at Goodwood and another similar show) and the Enzo was launched 10 years ago. So I guess it does mean that there are a fair number of DB5s in the UK, and also that they are being used. Sticking with Astons, the big V8 Vantage from the late 90s is something I have always admired, and I've only seen four of those ever (launched in 1993).
It's fun spotting them!

I haven't seen any DB5's in Bristol but three DB9s or poss DBS's. One gray, one black and one red. The black I have seen most often in the city centre.
Speaking of DBS's is there any way of customising either the CR or undamaged QoS version of the car to right side drive? In relation to my earlier post, I am debating a custom or two.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
Guess we are lucky here since I live near Newport Pagnell where they were made and where AM service centre is today. There is also a garage specialising in old astons in Olney not far from here. Last time I was in Olney they had db5and db6 parked on streets as well as in showroom. They were all lovely cars and destined to be owned by those with much more cash than me!
I wanted to post images from some of my best "customized" James Bond Car Collection vehicles. Looking at this thread (I am page 100 now) makes me realize to what great lengths some folks are taking to make their collection memorable.
Please free to comment on what your favorite might be and continue to post your own "Code 3" versions (which I think means custom adapted very freely)

Very nice work Shran007 {[] The later JBCC (Ixo) models look so much better with figures added IMHO, it brings them alive. I like the 'ejected' bad guy in the GF DB5 and the chopper background for the Skyfall DB5. Once again, the flower truck with a cargo of flowers added looks 'complete' compared to the standard model, it's a shame Ixo didn't take it that far.

If I was going to attempt this one, I think I'd buy a Cararama RHD DB7 (cheap on eBay) and see if the dashboards can be swapped over, whilst still using the original interior bucket and steering wheel. It might be possible to file down the DB7's centre binnacle to make it more convincing.
Unless anybody's got any better suggestions, it might be worth a try.

Just buy a Minichamps Casino Royale DBS which has a wrong RHD interior.
Okay, if not feeling like spending £50 to 70 for the Minichamps, swapping the dashboard seems to be the only practicable solution. Maybe instead of the Cararama DB7, a JBCC Vanquish dashboard would be more similar to the DBS? But we are talking about a black plastic piece inside a 1/43 car so a few liberties may be taken. The Vanquish is one of the cheaper issues, too.
I've tried to fit the interior of a JBCC Vantage into the grey Minichamps V8 Coupe (LHD) but the complete interior just doesn't fit. (I wanted to leave the Minichamps interior intact so that it would be possible to change it back in the future.) But the JBCC dash does fit perfectly onto the Minichamps interior part, so I think only changing the dashboard would be quite easy to do on other cars as well.

Hi shran007, your Chevrolet is my favourite of your customs and excellent. Can you tell us more which figures you used and how you made the flower bed? Are these flowers from Faller railway layout accessories?

Good idea! - anybody got a spare Vanquish interior? ........Diecast007? B-)

The simple reason is that it looks like a car made of ice rather than invisible, and as such is not an accurate representation of the movie vehicle.
These were the exact thoughts I had. A great effort but not really clear or 'invisible' enough that you could imagine Zao thinking "Oh, now where is that car?"
But the longer I looked at the pictures the more I think that this would have been a wonderful addition to the JBCC. When I imagined the Vanish I thought it would be best done as a clear plastic piece, but hollow like the window insert. And while this would make the car body more transparent, it would also prompt problem areas with the wheels and tyres and where they connect to the body.
No, now I think that Diecast's solution is the only feasible. After looking at the Vanish scenes I thought that the model should not be viewed as being in fully cloaked mode but rather in the short time of transformation to become invisible.
I think it then looks amazingly similar to the film, with the tail end actually almost invisible against the blue background even in Diecast's photo. Yes, I pulled the blue curve a bit but didn't even alter contrast or brightness. Just imagine if the model would come with some irregular white and black tampos, and a different base and background completely in blue - it would look almost exactly as in the film. But I wouldn't try painting on similar effects as this could damage the transparency of this model.
