My Code3 model Land Rover Defender Double Cab from Skyfall - finished at last (I was beginning to think I'd never get there!)
Hope you guys like the result.
Click on the photos to enlarge:
I've written an account of how it was done for anybody interested and will post it in the next day or two.
Thanks for the background, Tony {[]
WOWEEEE !! That is amazing MCF !! What a fantastic code 3. I have been away and come back to find this great model you have created. Congratulations its amazing and married to Tony's back ground it is perfect. Well done to you both ! Do another and ill swap you for a Vanish ??? (Joking apart there may be an opportunity to have some more Vanish models produced slightly different from the first two I had made , enough interest will bring the cost down significantly. Time scale would be 3 - 6 months, if you or anyone else are interested send me a PM )
Again another model that Eaglemoss missed an opportunity with. The Landrover from SKYFALL is my favourite CODE 3 well done MCF once again.
Ok, you guys are starting to make me blush like a girl now - but thanks anyway, it's always good to feel that your efforts are appreciated by others. Not necessarily for any kind of personal glory but more in that these Code3s CAN be done by ourselves in the absence of Eaglemoss making them, and once figured out, anyone can have a go. It would be great to see others having a go at this one.
TB2 - once I reached that 'tipping point' you picked up on and knew the project would succeed I felt much happier about spending more money on donor vehicles and materials etc, which worked out like this: Initially:
JBCC Casino Defender
Cararama Fire Service Land Rover Pick Up And then:
JBCC Quantum Carabinieri Land Rover
JBCC Goldeneye Ferrari
JBCC Octopussy Tuk-Tuk Plus:
Tamiya spray Primer
Tamiya spray Gloss Aluminium
Humbrol Aluminium
0.5mm Plasticard sheet
1.5mm plastic rods
Humbrol red, orange, matt black
For me, the left over bases, cars, plastic cases tend to end up being used elsewhere or sold on, BUT I reckon this model could be done on a budget using just the Casino Defender and the Cararama pick-up which does have passable wheels if they are repainted white:
(This one in the pic above is a better type to use because the roof element is in white rather than the red 'Fire Service' one I used)
The Casino base is a non-descript muddy dirt track which if repainted a sandy colour, could pass for either the train chase road or if you left the figure out, could be the high ground where Eve leaves the vehicle. In that instance, I'm sure Tony (if asked nicely) could provide a background looking down on the train with Bond and the 'hard-drive thief' having a punch-up on top.
RW - the model took me about 4 months in stop-start mode to complete. A lot of that involved waiting to get hold of parts off eBay as cheap as possible, plus experimentation in getting the rear panel to fit and fabricating the roof rack. But I think if I had to do the model again, with all of the necessary bits and pieces to hand, maybe 7-10 solid days?
D007 - any idea how much each of a new run of 'Vanishes' might be?
Finally compiled a list of models I have available for sale/trade; let me know if you're interested.

Living in the US, I generally rec'd about every third model with a cracked case so I had to buy quite a few extras.
The plinths I generally want to hang on to but realistically have far more than I'll ever use.
I also have a good many of the backgrounds and magazines available that correspond with the above.
In terms of things I'm looking for, I need ...
... background to issue #07 (Toyota 2000)
... magazine from issue #54 (Chevy Impala)
... "long box" tops (with no cracks, scratches, etc.)
... a Kawasaki cycle (can be loose as long as complete and in good condition)
Many thanks SWJ - much appreciated. If anyone is thinking of having a go at the Skyfall Double Cab, here is the licence plate artwork I used which might be of help:
I want more models !!!! Each time, it's a surprise !
Cheers.

DDenis, nice work! Between MCF's work on the MPenny Landy, and those magazine covers, there are other options. Nice to see we can pursue them even if Eaglemoss didn't.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
This is off topic (apologies) but may be of interest to anyone into movie related vehicles etc , 'The Bat' from The Dark Knight Rises is on the Eaglemoss website and on eBay:
Hy,
I continue to play with my computer yesterday... and I found some time also for a new 'small' unseen model...
Hope you like the new 'unseen' car collection.....
And the last 'unseen' model...
N° 142 ... but I am late with the magazine, we already reach more than 200 ... if we include the first 134 number of the 'official' collection... )
I hadn't seen the Skidoo diorama before and I loved it. Hysterical!. The poor guy frozen (pun intended) forever in mid air. Kinda makes me want to add feathers to the TSWLM biker. Could lead to a Code 3 spin off. Bad Guy Silly Crash Collection )
Suggestions include the cops who try to follow Bond on two wheel in Diamonds Are Forever and end up on their roof. The cops in the duck pond wearing the upper deck of the bus in Live And Let Die. The "Car-boat" from the same film. And of course, Jaws in the Rio cable car from Moonraker. OK that one is a bit of a stretch but it has the word car in it.
Seriously though, great work Denis. Please keep `em coming. Or as Bond might have said to that Skidoo rider......."bottoms up!" {[]

How about this for the Bad Guy Silly Crash Collection?
This scene got mentioned as a possible option for anyone thinking of doing their own Defender Code 3, so here it is. Like the market scene, this is for the tall box.
Brace yourselves, becouse some low-quality pictures are coming!
Once more, Tony saved the day.
Always good to see another Aston display, lj. That's a great paint job on the base too, using the colours from the background to complete the scene. A very nice addition to the Skyfall Code 3s.
Well done and thank you for sharing it with us. {[]

Brilliant! Thanks for that Tony - I'm now very tempted to make up an alternative box for my Defender model! All I need is a spare 'tall' case..............

I second that. As well as the base I like the helicopter incorporated in the background. Makes you wonder whether Eaglemoss would have had to pay extra (licencing) to use the helicopter image if they'd presented the model in this way.

A small correction on the brand... even for fun.
And the update of Skyfall' Code 3...
Cheers.
Thanks Dalko!
DDenis - I like the 'unseen' magazine covers idea, how about doing one for the Vanish?
Yes, you are right. Here another 'unseen' magazine covers...
If we continue like that, we will have soon to create our own factory to make the models and the mags.... )
