A belated thanks for that info on the Hot Wheels Elite DB5, RW - the news that the 1:43 is just a vanilla model has now put me off buying it.
Re that Premium X police wagon that MCF showed, I just got my Ranch Wagon (Issue 129) this past week - it's actually a really simply put-together model with just one crosshead screw at the front holding the base in place. I found this out when I had to take mine apart to re-attach the base at the rear, which had come apart in the box (oddly I didn't notice this when I was buying it). It was a quick & straightforward fix:
I also got around (finally) to photographing my rotated Dodge Ambulance (Issue 127) - this little fix also went without any hassles. I liked the little Morris Minor that followed and bought an extra, which is also in the photo (although as discussed long ago, most of us would have preferred something else for Issue 128!).
Interesting find with the Jaguar, 123James. As soon as I'm finished with getting the regular issues (5 to go {[] ) I'll start thinking about which others to add myself, and Skyfall is definitely an under-represented film in this collection!
Hi 123James, I would like to get a copy of the black xj Jag. Can you tell me where to go to purchase one?
Is anyone interested in making a list of best places to obtain models for our code 3's. Our model outlets seem to be very limited in Canada, especially as we never got the JBCC

The black XJ is made by Ixo but is an exclusive colour for Jaguar, so they don't come in Ixo branded boxes and don't show up when searching for an "Ixo XJ". Jaguar dealers have a few on ebay but they don't sell outside the UK or EU. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301069085075
Probably the easiest way to obtain one in Canada would be to look for the next Jaguar dealer.
Although the model is not the long-wheelbase XJL like M's car.
Diecast007 has already shown a code 3 on page 270:
Happy New Year ! Diecast 007 reporting back after a busy few months with the day job. After a welcome break in London I came home to find a nice Christmas present from Hatfields the Jaguar dealer. I nice black Jaguar XJ, not the real thing unfortunately but a dealer item as made by IXO. So here it is the first James Bond Code 3 of the year. Tony kindly made the background for a Range Rover I requested early in 2013. The Range Rover is still waiting some detail before completion. The background is perfect for this fine looking XJ. I have added 'M's driver . Also the older XJ parked in the background is a perfect nod to the heritage continued in this gorgeous luxury car. Anyway here are a few pictures . Enjoy
Wishing you all a prosperous new year and happy collecting and lots more code 3's
- Keep on clicking on the image until the large size file comes up onscreen (bigger than the average size monitor) On my PC an icon comes up reading 'view original'.
Not sure if we'll be getting any more backgrounds from our Tony, unfortunately no-one has heard from him in quite a while now.
Good find, MCF! The Welly model seems to be very nice for the low price, and it even has a black interior which is better suited for M's car. I also think that a cheaper model is more keeping it in style with the other JBCC models. Even if they were made by Ixo, the detailing of the JBCC versions wasn't the same as their full-price Ixo or Premium-X variants.

I couldn't agree more. There's no harm in having a more expensive parallel Bond car collection to the JBCC such as the Minichamps range, which is where I would personally add the Ixo Jag, but I would definitely think twice about altering it in any way for a Code3. If anyone were to paint the Ixo Jag interior to match M's car, the re-sale value of the model would be lost instantly.
One potential addition to the "parallel collection" could be this Lotus Esprit S1 just announced by Corgi as part of their "Lotus Collection" for their new 2014 July-December catalogue ... it's not in the colour of the TSWLM version, but it is most likely going to be better done than the UH one that appeared in the JBCC! Possibly Corgi might release their own TSWLM version down the line, once they have the tooling available. This red one is only scheduled for release in November, though.
I got the last of the Ixo models this past weekend, so now only those 3 tailender UH ones to go before I FINALLY finish this collection
What a long haul it has been (the collection started beginning-June 2008 here in South Africa, so it's run as long as it did in the UK but about 18 months behind). A lot happens in six years, my life has certainly seen changes from when this collection started compared to now!!

I think the Skyfall DB5 was a lot better than most people thought it would be, but the final model in the series was hardly any kind of grand finale at all. More like getting a burp as a reminder of dinner.
But now, if you want, the fun starts with Code3s and/or add-ons to the JBCC. How about this as a nice first addition? -
I coming back after busy few months busy with every days 'life.
I found some new car to convert into JB cars. Hope you will like.
Tatra from french series & Aston from 1st mag...
And very good work die-cats 007 for your Jag. !! A little bit too expensive yet on the web for me.
waiting for more code 3's
Cheers.
(Sorry, I made a mistake in English on the name of the movie : I will correct it asap !)
That is a neat project you have done with the Tatra, DDenis Yes, time is the enemy of many of the things we would like to do but struggle to fit in!
Thanks for the reminder of the Velox, MCF - I actually need two of those, one for my Vanguards collection and one to Code 3 into the JBCC! I picked up the GF Lincoln Convertible this week so only two left to collect for me now. I am looking forward to the SF DB5, it will be a neat addition ... and then the RR just to complete the lot.
Hi again, I found some time today to (re)work on my code 4 collection.
I think I will made all my mag. relative to models I 've got home. Hope you like.
Great work DDenis {[] To echo FACT, I especially like the Tatra - I don't remember seeing that model on our 'wish list' many months ago, did we all miss it? It's a great addition to the Code3 series anyway, a vehicle full of character and some degree of menace. The Goldeneye DB5 is also quite important as I believe it completes all the DB5s seen in the Bond movies....unless someone knows of another one?
The Herbie and Prisoner Lotus are excellent models too, not JBCC but I doubt if anyone is complaining! Personally, I don't see any harm in including these.
Hi,
Thanks MovieCarFan,
New mag for an 'old' Code3. I continue to update my excel list with all code 3 and add the number of pics where we saw for the 1st time the model. I put this number on the mag. Of course, I can share the list.. The list is today 170 models !!! (new or modified). More than official list !
Cheers

Hi Fellas,
nice to see a few Code 4s popping up, well done Denis! I had thought the OHMSS Beetle could be a potential Herbie, but the one you have used (I am assuming it is a different car) looks brilliant! The Lotus is exactly how I imagined it would look. (it is on my Code 4 to do list.) Was the Lotus hard to find in the correct scale?
I have one or two ideas brewing but due to time and budget they are stubbornly refusing to genesis into actual projects at the moment. - I did make a play for the Acrostar on Ebay last week, but just got pipped at the post again. Drat!
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
Need a couple of original backgrounds to restore some damaged models:
Toyota 2000 and Goodnight's MGB
Also, I have dozens of spare models, backgrounds, etc. if anyone is in need (posted a list awhile back but only had one query so not going to update unless there's interest).
Hi there, long time no speak ! Good work DDenis glad you like the Jag . I too am finding time at a premium, I have a back log of code 3s and of course the definitive list which I did promise. the tatra is amazing , how did we miss that on our wish list .
I've also got a bunch of spare backgrounds/dioramas, PoorMansJB, but unfortunately neither of those two you're looking for.
I have just bought Issue 133, so only one issue left to collect for me now.
For my first Code 3 I will tackling the no-gadgets V8 Vantage from TLD, as shown by MoveCarFan back on page 223 of this thread. I have a spare Volante and I'll be seeing how I can use that in the conversion, so my conversion may turn out a little different from MCF's. I still have to pick up the V8 Vantage to base the conversion on, but a look on a local auction site shows that I could get one right now for just less than what they cost originally.
Out of interest I took a look at Eaglemoss's store to see what they still offer as backorders in this collection - there are still 22 issues listed as available, although their inventory still only goes up to Issue 113: https://www.mycollectionshop.com/james-bond-cars
Hello,
News of the day ... 'Re launch' of an old Code 3, with few modification...
And the mag of the next release...
Thunderbird 2East of Cardiff, Wales.Posts: 2,817MI6 Agent
Very good DD, the Goldfinger Jeep is a mini diorama what with the ammo trailer. Also fullarks on including.one of Pussy's flying Angels in the sky backdrop.
The standard look Jag is brilliant! Having seen its life size parent at the Bond In Motion expo iit really is a differrnt car in standard mode. One question, how did you get it to look so "ordinary?"Usually it is a tough call to remove added features and keep a vehicle model looking fresh and unaltered?
Also Thanks for the advice re the Lotus 7. I have seen one on Ebay, but budget means it has to wait for now.
Speaking of budget I am finally making some progress myself. I got the Acrostar at last (without mag, but thats my fault) and managed to aquire seven Batman batmobile cases! Two Code 2s, One Code 3, Three Code 4s, and my code 5 all a serious step forward in the planning stages. Good.
Fact, I will need to re-read the thread again. I didn't know MCF had done a gadgetless V8?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Could be a cheaper alternative to the Ixo model?
Welly seem to be mostly Stateside, so I presume maybe it would be cheaper to ship to Canada as well?
I ordered the Welly model that MoviecarFan suggested.
Did our expert background man Tony do an XJL background?
Thanks again
He did indeed, you'll find at least one amongst the pics on page one of his photo-bucket:

Hello
You can find one on this adress - It's an official Land Rover dealer

I made some progress on few models but I haven't finish yet. Just few more mags...
cheers.
Next release to come (it's just a re-edition of a 'old' code3)... )
