hi everyone. I'm a new member here and I allready have a question:
Does anyone knows witch font is used for the names? some people have said that is was either MS sans serif or franklin gothic medium, turs out to be neither of them, so now i'm looking for the right font. I need it for my "upgraded"DBS - Casino Royale and for my (hopefully) soon to be finished AEC Regent.
Thanks
Hello, welcome! The typeface is Eurostile bold, and in some font collections a Eurostile copy is called Square 721.
Wow, at around 500 euro they're not cheap, more for the landscape. Shows the JB Car Collection to be superb value in comparison!
I too find the VF models too expensive, I have seen some of them years ago when there were no 1/43 collector's models available, only the Corgi toy offerings. VF made James Bond models long before Minichamps did anything similar. Some of the models were converted from Western white-metal kits, others were entirely self-made.
But comparing a handbuilt model with a mass-produced die-cast is like comparing a James Bond watch from Fossil or Swatch with a Rolex. Still, I have to agree that the Fabbri collection cars are superb value, and I thought the quality of the VF models didn't quite match the high price and therefore never bought one of these.
I got a reply back from the magazine, & they state this is the latest list "subject to change".
You'll notice No's 63 & 67 are still the same.
No FRWL Bentley, or GF Roller then.
Looks like I will have to search the webb & make my own Bentley diorama.

Ive started to track down 1/43 diecast of the cars featured in the NSNA movie plus the cars as written by Mr Fleming himself. Theres quite a lot available at the moment.
Does any one out there know what the motorbikes are in the films? I have the BMW from TND, but being an Aston Martin freak, Im not too genned up on motorbike names or models.
I suppose motorbikes couldve been included in the collection, as they did use the Tuk Tuk.
Is the Tuk Tuk a car or a bike with 3 wheels?
In issue 29 of the magazine it says the autorickshaws have "scooter forebears". It also says their predecessors were things called Samlors which were three wheeled bicycles. The engines are CNG or LPG powered 2 stroke air-cooled single cylinder motors taken from scooters and the steering mechanism is handlebars rather than a wheel. Add all that up and I'd call it closer to being a relative of a motorcycle than a car.
How is Grimsby these days? Still pretty Grim? I only know of the place from a saying my cousins have. Whenever faced with having to do something that displeased them they'd retort with "I'd rather be on a Grimsby trawler", in much the same tone that Jeremy Clarkson uses when he says "I'd rather stroll through the middle of Tehran wearing a star of David T-shirt".

Its the same. Grim. Youre right about the trawler comment, I would'nt want to go out on any trawler, never mind one from Grimsby. Its a hard life for them now.
Thanks for the info on the Tuk Tuk, I suppose I shouldve just re-read the magazine, thats what they are for.
Does anyone really believe that this collection will stop at 70 ???...if I was making money producing such a popular product,I would continue as much as I could..there is still so many vehicles to make..it doesn't all have to be cars..& before anyone says "but it's a car collection"..I know!!!.but there's bikes ,buses & boats..to consider...as they say in McDonalds "I'm Lovin' it".:007)
It's good stuff. Just as well it wasn't around when I was a kid, my pocket money would have suffered! One really hopes they'll get the FRWL Bentley out, that was one I was looking out for. Are they legally not allowed to do NSNA? That said, I'm personally not too enthused about the stuff in that.
How many are on the mailing list I wonder? I wonder if someone wouldn't design a three-tiered diorama (?) from Goldfinger showing the three vehicles inc I suppose the Rolls which isn't on the list. You know, when the shot is fired at Auric. Wouldn't that be great! With miniatures of the characters, the art pictures for sale and even the cow bells tinkling if you press a button, then a shot on the recording!

I'm with you on the FRWL Bentley, as it appears there is no other model available anywhere that I can find.(Unless some one knows different)I've tried nearly every manufacturer there is to no avail.
There are a few vehicles worth collecting from NSNA, although I think the film was a bit flat & cheap, but it is a "Bond" film after all.
If it wasnt for the Rolls Royces not being produced, they could go up to 80 issues easily, I for one would see it through to the end.

I dont know what others think, but i think that this collection is just getting better and better. looking back at the earlier models, such as the vanquish and XKR, the production values and overall look of the cars and their boxes now are so much better. I wish the vanquish and XKR and the 750il were up to the same standard.
go down to issue 53 right click and open the pic in a new window or tab.
then in the url of the new window change the number at the end of the url to 54, 55 or 56.
and there we have it.
nice idea , but would never happen. they would be no money in it for them, plus corgi or minichamps or who ever has the license to make the models would not allow it. the only reason that UH/Fabbri are allowed to make them is because they are not for sale other than via subscription/direct from the publisher.
Minichamps and corgi pay a lot for the license to make the 007 cars, and they would not be best pleased if they had competition from UH that only cost £8.
Just got my issues 48 & 49 in the mail today with the second magazine holder. Happy to get the holder. That was starting to be desperately needed. Unfortunately my issue 48 has arrived with yet another cracked acrylic diorama cover and the magazine has arrived with a torn cover around where the staples go through. In the packing they slid the flattened magazine holder under the front cover of the magazine. This has put too much tension on the staples and they have partially torn through the outer page. Grrrr. Have contacted the distributors and they have ordered a replacement issue 48, so maybe I'll get another magazine holder!
This problem with the cracked acrylic diorama covers is starting to be a real problem. I suppose I shouldn't be complaining about getting multiple issues, but storage space is becoming a real issue. I have got something like 12 extra issues so far just because of cracked acrylic diorama covers. I wish I could just get replacement covers without everything else. Of course I could just throw the extra models away after removing the acrylic cover I need, but I just can't bring myself to do that.
Distributors keep telling me though that it isn't economically viable for them improve the packaging to prevent the cases getting cracked in the post and they can't supply just the acrylic covers. The cheapest and only option is to replace the complete issue each time. So wasteful. I love the model of the Lincoln Continental with the boot open anyway, so at least I'll have two of them.
On another completely off-topic subject, I've just started reading Roger Moore's autobiography called 'My Word is My Bond' and it's very good so far. Really enjoying it. I really think Roger is unfairly criticised for his portrayal of Bond. I think he was a lot better than he gets credit for. I can understand people preferring Connery, but I reckon he was at least the next best and FYEO remains my favourite Bond film of all.
Yeah, I keep having the same problem with the cracked cases Legoman. I notice they rectify the problem the 2nd time round by sending them in a light cardboard box, but it's happened a few times to me now (and I've only subscribed since issue 39).
I've almost finished Moore's autobiography...it's a great read, and I admire him for his good work with UNICEF.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Why is he? ?:) :v
I like! {[]
will have some better pic soon...
Hey? Where does this come from? It's not from the James Bond Car Collection is it? Or is it? It's been laid out the same.
Why are they winding this up anyhow? BTW I saw the OP taxi cab in a newsagent in West Norwood yesterday...

i wouldn't be surprised if they get pushed back to keep people interested and subscribed to the mag. 8-)
looks like the DBS has been pushed back a bit then.
and still no pics of the Chevrolet Impala from china? ?:)
Is issue 54 the car that Bond and Rosie Carver go up in the hills down there in before she gets killed by a scarecrow?
If you hadn't seen LALD after that comment you'd wonder what kind of weird ass film it is... and if you HAVE seen it you might think the same
