I agree, I don't think you would be entitled to the free gifts that came before issue 20 as you were not s subscriber.
  • DokkDokk Posts: 382MI6 Agent
    Hi,
I subscribed to the collection at number 20 - untill know I have only received 1 free gift (the Renault taxi).
Anyone with the same experience? What should I do? I mailed them already several times.
    Thx
    Nick

If you search the likes of Ebay you will get the other 2. unless some kind JB fan has a couple of extras they might sell you :) :007)

I think i have found the QoS KA:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-1-43-Ford-KA-HYDROGEN-Greene-Planet_W0QQitemZ370162210516QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN?hash=item370162210516&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

This may mean that the DBS has been pushed back once again. And by the looks of it, no Camille inside, so presumably the diorama will be parked at the docks.

Wow. It looks a bit cheap and nasty. It must be a bond car because of the greene planet link.

Yeah thats what i was thinking. It has to be the minichanmps model or our one. And by the looks of it its not the minichamps.

but we have to remember the early pics of other models such as the range rover, it made it look very cheap.

I agree, this one looks pretty bad, The wheels are too small and I am not even sure about the color.
I thought the car was more of a Gold (Ford colour "Meditate")
Not as big of a flaming Turd as the Ford GT40 but it shows a troubling direction as of late.

Am I not right in thinking that Ford have released a real car in this paint scheme to tie in with Q0S?

If so then coundn't this just be another companies model of a KA in this paint scheme???

Unlikely as its says that its 'Ford KA HYDROGEN Greene Planet'. Greene Planet is the company owned by Greene in QoS. Also they is not a real hydrogen KA in production, it was a petrol KA in the film with hydrogen stickers on it.

Also in the description it says 'Brand: Universal Hobbies'

So its I think its safe to say that its almost definitely the one that will be in our collection then.

    How good does this look?

This was suposed to be issue 66. Maybe they are changing the order so that the DBS is one of the last?

    This looks sweet! B-)

I think that Moonraker is a better film that most people give credit for and I think that this model is a great version of "DRAX 1" can't wait to get it - looks a lot more impressive than the KA.

I've noticed that on some models from Chinese sellers on EBay tend to face the wrong way. I've purchased a few with that tendency while the official ones with the magazine from England are facing the correct way. For example, my DAF Triumph Stag that I purchased from Chinese seller is going downhill instead of uphill. The MGB from TMWTGG that I bought from a Chinese seller is facing the wrong way as opposed to the one I purchased from England with magazine.
So you may get your wish.

As my tank model is in storage can someone tell me what the size of the tank is so I can try and find out if the case is big enough???

I just got my bonuses and by measuring outside of the box the tank is about 19 cm x 6,5 cm x 5,5 cm (l/w/h).

May I suggest something like these boxes (at the bottom of the page):

    Also some cheap penny store car-models have plastic showcases, which may be suitable. :007) -{

so not the Ka or the Hispano-Suiza.
And here it is on ebay = http://cgi.ebay.com/1-43-FORD-Fairlane-James-Bond-007_W0QQitemZ120385566752QQihZ002QQcategoryZ91592QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122

Judging by the constant re-ordering of the issues i wouldn’t be surprised if the dbs is the last issues (70).

wouldn’t it be really good if the last issue was a double issue so that the Alfa and dbs were in the same diorama box! Plus this would free-up another issue (the Alfa) for something else eg the ford mondao.
I wouldn’t mind paying double the price, would you?

The website of the German edition of this car collection lists the Hispano-Suiza as #59 & the Ka as #60.

    http://www.jamesbondautos.de/Tabelle.htm

The information listed there has been static since December some time, so may be subject to change I guess. They list only as far as #63 at the moment.

Id rather not use eBay unless I have to.

Hi there Mr. Grimsby. I happen to have a completely virgin unopened issue 33 (DAD Diablo) here with your name written all over it. I got it replaced because in the name of full disclosure the acrylic diorama case cover does have a tiny little crack in it on the back side about 1cm long right between the letters E & U of the word 'MEURS'. That literally is the only thing wrong with it. I've just received my replacement moon buggy from DAF (issue 31) and that came in a cardboard box undamaged, so I even have a durable box in which to post it to you as well. The downside is, I'm in Australia. But PM me if you're keen.

Thanks for that. That looks to be another good source for acrylic cases. I've solved my issues for the time being though. I got replacement issues 16 & 31. I've frozen the base of issue 16 to destroy the mechanical strength of the superglue and cracked the stone block away from the corner quite successfully. That leaves me with a nice grey asphalt-looking surface upon which the T-55 tank will sit. The acrylic cover of the moon buggy diorama will be the cover giving me all the extra height I need. All I have to do is melt a hole through it with a soldering iron to get the gun barrel to stick through and I'll be golden :D

You better be wrong! If I get shortchanged out of my BMW E28 518 from Octopussy, I'm gonna be so pi55ed!! That is the issue I'm looking forward to the most. That Ford Ka model is so ghey. I would place that on a par with the Ford GT40 as worst in the collection so far. The GT40 is bad because it's just a poor representation of the real car. The Ford Ka sucks because whilst it might be an accurate model, the car itself is just the dullest, most uninteresting POS imaginable.

If there was to be any special large model to be offered, I agree with previous suggestions that it should be the convertible Range Rover towing the horse float with the acrostar jet inside. That really would be the sh!t :p

Just because the DBS is last doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t get the BMW. From the way things are looking the list that is on Wikipedia (also the one you get when you ring them up), is correct but just in the wrong order. As far as we know your BMW could be number 60.

What’s wrong with the KA exactly? I see what you are saying about it just being product placement on Fords behalf, but I really think that the ka is quite a good looking car really.
The KA has what ford call ‘The Kinetic design ethos’ which runs throughout the Ford ranges, (the form of distinctive, strong features and design lines).
its cute-looking and I think it is a good match for Camille’s character.

It's rubbish, just like 99% of cars designed these days. It's a melted soap bar. A blob on wheels. Everything about it screams designed by KIA in South Korea. Flush fitting glass, hidden wipers, headlights (and for that matter tailights as well) that look like they've been melted with the car standing up on end. The giant Peugeot guppy mouth at the front which is ridiculously oversized, triangular windows yielding horrible outward visibility, tiny little wheels, hubcaps, a bilious green paintjob... I could go on and on all day.

That may well be the case, but just because some marketing tosspot has strung together a bunch of wankwords into a meaningless collection of utter dribble doesn't mean it's good. Plenty of people in my business call themselves "Integrated Logistics Solution Providers". Sounds impressive doesn't it? Actually it's a pile of sh!t and just means they haven't decided what they do and are open to doing anything anyone will give them money to do. They're wh0re5, basically, in white collars.

Well, I guess I can't argue with you there. I don't find it hard to believe that most females would describe a green bubble car with no corners, no edges and entirely made up of compound curves to be "cute". Unfortunately for Ford though, cute is IMHO not a desireable trait in any car design, and certainly not something I look for. Camille is cute, her car however should be a jet black RUF Porsche 911 with the turbos cranked up to 11.

Hello Mr. Perth. If you work out what you would like for the car including shipping, then perhaps we can work something out. I know they are selling on eBay for anything from £8.00 to £15.00 including shipping, but as I dont need the box or mag I dont know what to do. There is a site selling just the car for £6.00 inc shipping from China, but Ive had a bad experience with the Chinese postage, but never from down under! If you think its too much hassel, I will understand. Over to you sir.
