If you look to the rear of the vehicle it looks like Jaws is printed onto the background about to throw the block of stone at them.
You sir either have access to a photo that I do not, or else you are blessed with X-Ray vision, because I have blown up that photo provided in here 'til it's four times the size of my monitor and then played with the contrast level and I cannot for the life of me make out any figure that looks even remotely like Richard Keil holding a stone block or not.
Jaws is definetly on the back cover. You can see his leg and the block he is holding. You really cant see it? Also there is now another photo on ebay showing his whole body and the perspex box, no sign of bond as yet though.
Its turned out to be a decent model after all. We was all ready to condemn it too!
Its one I'm glad they have done, it makes the collection worth while, along with the ZAZ, the Tuk Tuk & the minimoke. It will take pride of place in my collection.
I think the worst one so far has to be the GT40 off roader.
Does anyone else have a hated model?
I've just been reading issue 57 (Took about 3 mins) & in the centre fold is a picture of the BSA Lightning motorbike that fires the rockets at the car! Why hasn't anyone made a model of this motorbike? I'm not a bike nut, but it would have made a good addition to this particular collection.
Does anyone know if there is any models of this bike at all?
I asked the same thing a few issues back & was told " It's a car collection"!!!..has any one noticed that only issue 6 has a villian on the front cover?????. -{ :007)

I dont think that bikes would be good for this collection, a bike model at 1 43 would be a bit pointless really.
I had noticed that Zao was on the front of 6, weird isent it ) , i suppose they were planning to have the driver of the car on the front of each cover, but that would have got a bit hard with some of the issues, like the lambo, Lada and gt40! )
Ref the 1/43 scale bike, I agree it would look a bit naf on it's own, but behind the Fairline would have looked good, but it would have to be a longer diorama box!
I only mentioned the BSA bike as I have a 1/18 model of the BMW bike from TWINE & wanted this one too.
Whats he making it out of old airfix models?
should look good once its painted! keep us posted, cant wait to see it finished
Bits of allsorts, but I think the main parts are from Airfix kits! The wings are to scale, but the tails slightly too long. (So I'm told - but how do you work that out purely from photos?)
Looking at the size of it when its finished, I can see why it couldn't have been included in this collection! Think of the diorama box size!

Spencer, you continue to astound me with your astute observations and unfailing good sense.
I agree wholeheartedly. This Leyland model has turned out to be a very worthwhile addition indeed now that we have decent pictures. It shall be one of my most cherished along with all the others you mentioned.
I don't think anyone will argue with you that the GT40 is the worst by some way. I will throw the Lotus Esprit from TSWLM on the jetty with the turned wheels in the mix as one of the worst models too. Not because of any disproportions or lack of detail but simply because it has been quite poorly put together wrt the front wheels. The way they have been attached to the chassis plate is very poor indeed and it is well nigh impossible to get them to rotate freely unlike say with Xenia Onatopp's Ferrari F355. The method of fixing them is really quite bad. I have gone to extreme lengths to get them to work properly and I have succeeded to some extent, but it is still a long way from perfect. I find this annoying.

It sounds like I'm the only one who actually thinks the magazines themselves are worthwhile. I'm learning a hell of a lot from them and think they're really good. Admittedly I'm probably not as rabid a JB fan as most everyone else in here and perhaps that slight distance allows me to enjoy them all the more. I'm a JB fan and I've seen all the movies and I've got them all in some form or another to keep, but I can't name every villan, bond girl or reference specific scenes out of specific movies without looking them up. I also don't have a collection of memorabilia from the movies or JB figurines. I'm not quite that bad just yet. I'm a car fan first and a JB one second. This collection won't extend on for me into collecting other things James Bond for example. I am only interested in the cars. Maybe my ignorance allows me to enjoy the magazines much more.
sorry for posting pics of the van again but i thing kingsmodel's are worth posting.
Yes they are and thanks very much for posting them. I am extremely pleased to see this one seems to come with the larger "hi-cab" acrylic cover on it to match the moon buggy and also in my case, it will match the T-55 tank too when I'm done creating a diorama for it. It is good to not have just the one model with the oversize cover IMHO.
Good lord, your friend has taken on a job and a half there! Good luck to him and I'd love to see what the finished product looks like. Not something I have the skills to attempt though. I'd just end up making a complete hash of it.
Can anyone suggest a source of longer screws for the diorama bases to secure the cars? I'm thinking specifically of the screw that secures issue 14 TLD Aston V8 Vantage. As I've said before I like to cut the mounting plinth off the base of my models and in a few cases (including the Sherpa van judging by the looks of the photo) where the model has particularly high ground clearance, this then means that the screw is then not long enough to engage the model at all. Would a hobby shop be the first place to go looking? I suppose they would stock diorama supplies like mounting screws?

Please don't get me wrong, the information within the mags is useful, interesting & in some cases revealing. To be honest, we are buying the cars with a booklet attached because if they printed too much information in the earlier issues, there wouldn't have been anything else left to print by issue 70!
The whole collection including the mags is a worth while investment in my opinion, I don't think there will be anything like it again for a long time.
I'm not a "die-hard" Bond fan, I don't claim to know all there is about all the films. I too am really only interested in the cars. I have a varied collection such as the full Corgi set, Johnny lightning range plus a few of the Sideshow figures, some rare kits & a few custom built items. (+ the DVDs & books of course)
I'm not interested in props, clothing, tea towels, plates, mugs, clocks, slippers, wallpaper or posters etc. Everyone to their own.
Anyway, I think the wife would have some thing more to say about it all!
I got 56 and 57 today, unfortunately the Toyota has a small scratch of the right had side and the box is a bit damaged as well. Any way more importantly, looking at the back page of 57 at the preview cover of 58, I am almost positive that the dbs has damage and no door on the computer generated image that is normally on pages 4 and 5.
This computer mock-up is always how the model appears in it box, for example the Ford mustang has the large scratch from the db5.
Here is a pic I don’t know if you can see it or not from this, it might be better to look at your own copy of 57.

I remember trying to find a BSA Lightning during the 60s and couldn't find one - the nearest was the Airfix BSA C15, and that was nowhere near (besides it didn't have a fairing). Since then I've occasionally looked and still haven't found one.

Thanks for that, I will scale down my search now.
It said in the mag that the bike itself is in the museum in the Lake district. I was there last year, & I must say the bike was in a sorry state. I wasn't even sure it was the real thing until now. You wasn't allowed to take photos so I cannot show any here. Just thought I mention that.
Is it just me or is the diorama of the Thunderball Ford Fairline a bit wrong in so much as it shows the Ford is alongside the Aston Martin DB5 with the BSA Motorbike behind it?
I've not seen the film for ages but I'm sure that in the film the Ford is always behind the Aston, as Lippe shoots at Bond and then Bond sees his car get destroyedby the rockets in the rear view mirror.
I have just got the chance of issues 4,5,6,9,10,11,12 & 13 still sealed with mags & Aston Martin DB5-Goldfinger No Mag but still has Card on Base....I am going to put them on Ebay..but I thought I would give anyone on this site the first chance...I am asking for 7.99 each excluding P&P( boxed )..I will give till next Sun (22/3/9)..P.S. I hope I don,t offend anyone by placing this Post..& If yes..then Please Remove it..Thanx Dokk..-{ :007)

When they have been shooting in Hamburg, I have been an extra and I have been in the first one myself...
