Hey Guys, I just noticed a guy from France has posted the same list that I posted, on page 59, from Fabbri. You know the one no one has taken seriously!!lol
Of course I relaize that lists even from Fabbri have not always been accurate...I guess we will see!??
This is the diorama for Little Nellie I made a while ago but never got around to posting a photograph. I used the base from a damaged issue Range Rover from TND- sanded flat and painted.
When I got the DAF Moon Buggy I immediately chucked it into storage at the back of my cupboard as a "non-car" ... yes, it has wheels and it was driven on land, but it just wasn't what I was looking for in this collection of "cars".
Some of the upcoming models are going to get the same treatment from me - bought to make my collection complete, but otherwise pretty much unloved & unwanted. That Parahawk especially has no appeal to me - the other non-cars were at least operated by Bond himself, but the Parahawk was a baddie vehicle ... and as I remember, they spent more time in the air than on land in that sequence in TWINE.
And before anyone states the obvious that one doesn't have to get every issue of the collection, just the ones you want ... unfortunately that's a decision that one has to take early on in the collection - whether to collect them all or just to get the ones that interest you - and I decided to collect them all & it would be silly to change now. In for a penny, in for a pound!
It'll be interesting to see how they manage to fit that LALD bus into a standard box, though ...
@gsinclair22: yes, I'm sure it's just a typo & should be CR ... I don't remember any Land Rover in Dr No anyway.
I have to agree, although I would love to have a model of the qboat the Parahawk and the Acrostar, this isn’t what I signed up to. Stop milking it! Personally I don’t have any objections to this new list, as I’m sure they will all be great models.
When I first heard of this collection I thought 40 models would be pushing it! I could barely think of 40 cars worth making models of. Thankfully this collection proved me wrong and I now appreciated the films (and the cars themselves) more. But recently they have become more and more desperate (mini from OHMSS). Don’t get me wrong it’s a good model and I love minis but why?
For me the strangest choice in this list is the anglia. Luckily for them I also have a soft spot for anglias, but why in a bond collection when there are so many better cars (with Bond relevance) that they could do. If Rolls Royce are really that expensive then charge us double for it then!
The danger of these new bond ‘vehicles’, is that the collection could continue for the foreseeable future. What is to stop them doing a moonraker model or Disco Volante.
next thing you know bond 23 will be out with 8 new cars to made from that.
Hey lester could you please tell me the settings and software for the print out of these picture backgrounds so they fit a standard box
thanks

From the background that someone had done (see below), I noticed that they are not straight all the way across. So I made one straight for convenience and worked out where I wanted the fold to go (corner of the shed) and cut that part and moved round by 5 degrees and added a bit to fill the gap between. I did the straight part all the way across using Photoshop and then the moving bit in Indesign. I can email you (or anyone else who wants a copy) a pdf of the finished background. If you do want a copy, send me a PM with an email address to use. That way we're not displaying email addresses here for anyone to see and abuse.
When I was cutting it out, I used an original background as a template and marked the fold. I then used a sharp knife and metal ruler on a cutting matt for accuracy.
I agree with the comments about it being called CAR Collection, but I am looking forward to the Q boat, Parahawk, Acrostar and Osprey 5.
I am a bit disapointed that the Range Rover with the horsebox has been dropped. I was hoping that the case might be long enough for the T-55 tank. I always suspected it might get dropped though, as it would cost twice as much to produce with two models.
To help (or confuse more) while looking for something else, I've found more lists from Holland and Japan.
I like that the collection will be extended to 96 (so far!). But I'm wondering about the Dragon Tank. Every other modell, exept two of the three gifts, is coming in a diorama. Every picture that I see, even from the ebay seller Kingsmodel, the Dragon Tank is without diorama. This makes me wonder if this will really in the collection or that it is maybe a gift for the subscibers of the collection.
To be honest, I'm not looking forward to the Dragon tank, as it does appear to be not in a case. To me it just looks crap. A background and case may improve on my opinion.

Not all of the models that have come on offer by the Chinese ebayers ahead of their UK release have had the dioramas that subscribers eventually received, and some models weren't available from ebay ahead of time at all.
Here's what I noticed: Issue #54, the LALD Chev Impala - wasn't available at all on ebay ahead of its release in the UK Issue #57, the TB Ford Fairlane - only available as a loose model (no diorama) on ebay ahead of its release in the UK Issue #58, the QoS Aston DBS - wasn't available at all on ebay ahead of its release in the UK Issue #64, the FRWL Bentley - only available as a loose model (no diorama) on ebay ahead of its release in the UK Issue #65, the QoS LR Defender - wasn't available at all on ebay ahead of its release in the UK
So as you can see, just because we haven't seen a diorama on ebay doesn't mean there isn't going to be one
I see what your saying and I agree with you. I do remember seeing some appear on ebay without cases and backgrounds before the cased versions. I really do hope the Dragon tank comes in a case and with a diarama. To me looking at the photos though, it appears to bigger than previous models and because of that at the moment, I'm not expecting it to be in a case. I could be wrong and I hope I am wrong.
I would echo some of the comments posted in finding future issues such as the parahawk and acrostar rather odd to say the least. I assume it's because both of these have been readily available for Fabbri to reference at The Bond Museum in Keswick, so were easy choices for them to make.
I think I must be one of the lucky ones here since I chose not to subscribe but to 'cherry pick' back orders ever since the series started, so can happily avoid these two models as I did with the GT40!
If it's not too late, I would STILL plead the case for the chase Mercedes saloon in Goldfinger. If it was complete with blue-suited bad guys and a night time diorama scene showing it pursuing Bond's Aston DB5, I think it would make a terrific addition to the series. It's the only one I think that would be worth making up as a DIY project, apart from Goldfinger's Rolls Royce of course.
Ive given the pic to Karen my wife to print (he he) in work tommorrow hopefully it will be the right size for printing. and nellie can find a new home.Im using the box from the chevy impala so it should look ok.
what to do with the tank is another thing whew. I dont like it anyway. reminds me of what i used to get in a lucky bag as a kid. I do hope they get around to putting the dragon tank in a box.it would be a shame not to. and surely the decapitated bus will be in a bigger box. anyway my good wife has agreed to allow me to display them in a cabinet which will be undercounter in the island part of our new kitchen which will face into the dining area. I really must use this collection. its jaw dropping to look at, when they re all out of they re bags.My cabinet will hold well over 100 models.
I told Charlotte at G.E Fabrii that there was still a lot of excitement a the collection approached 100 and that i thought most people would like to see it continue further. It is surely a one off nearly 100 models now, extraordinary..Great to see so many people still on here.
Give me more G.E Fabrii but please get the details on the models right and we need different cars not rehashes of similar vehicles. I would love to see the motorbike BSA lightning from Thunderball.
i think the collection needs a another db5 or two )
i too am one of the 'fortunate ones' who hasn't subscribed, and simply chosen to pick out the favourites. a lack of space and funds was another reason for not subscribing, but also the inevitable milking tactic.
i remember when i was younger, i started collecting a star trek subscription that ran and ran and ran. i think it was around the £400 mark when i came to my senses and called it a day. won't be falling into that trap again.
but on the flip side, like someone else was saying in another thread, a collection like this is simply personal choice. the JBCC has produced some reasonable models for peanuts, and provided models such as the AM v8 from TLD that aren't otherwise available. there again, some models like the OHMSS mini have left me wondering what relvance they have to the franchise.
i doubt its a good financial investment, but there again, who on here collects stuff with a view to one day selling the lot for monetary gain? not me thats for sure.
with the collection being hit and miss with the quality, and the milking tactics taking it to 100 models, i thought it best to cherry pick.
This is why the first rule of collecting is: buy it because it's special to you, not because you're going to make money on it.
Since this collection is moving toward the exotic vehicles like the parahawk, dragon tank etc., which are the ones I look forward to picking up, how about the tricked out gondola from Moonraker? That would be sweet B-)
This is the diorama for Little Nellie I made a while ago but never got around to posting a photograph. I used the base from a damaged issue Range Rover from TND- sanded flat and painted.
Hi Scurr01,
The model of "Little Nellie" you have done looks fantastic. I really like the background you have used and was wondering how you managed to do the model's titles on the base and possibly which font you used???
I have printed a background for my model but still need to find a base for it. Once I have completed that task and finished Little Nellie, I would like to have a go at the T-55 Tank, but obviously, I will need a far bigger display box to fit it in. Any ideas???
Comments
Sorry, I get two issues in a box each month. No bags.
Of course I relaize that lists even from Fabbri have not always been accurate...I guess we will see!??
thanks

My version before cutting and moving 5 degrees.
I hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask anything else.

It appears that the Dutch list is more accurate though.
it will be a disappointment if it doesnt come boxed!
No wait surely it will be ilegal if it doesnt come boxed?

They also say 1:43, but the moonbuggy wasn't so their obviously not sticking to that statement.
i'll just bide my time and get them in on a back order.

Hi Dokk,
Could be a good idea if I could find one. the only ones that I have seen are flat...
