Hi Guys,
I also don't understand why several of you have decided to jump ship on this collection, in favour of the 1.8th scale DB5 - it isn't on general or subscription release till "early 2011"...!!!
Ive not "jumped ship" as youve put it, I just cannot aford both subscriptions at the same time.
Ive received my first 3 issues of the DB5 also, but I intend to carry on with the JBCC by picking them up over a period of time on back order or ebay which ever is easier & cheapest. That way I can spread the cost & pick the best ones 1st.
I intend to have all the collection eventually.
My only moan is about the fillers, like you get on a "best off" compliation album. Just there to fill a slot.
ok, looks like i have been firmly corrected. the point i was making is why bother to complain about the cost? collecting by its general nature tends to incurr an outlay of money
Hi guys,
Time for another light hearted post, I think!
My view is that part of the excitement and continued interest is simply not knowing what's going to happen next ... how many models, what's coming next, how crazy are GE Fabbri, can they stuff vehicle X into a standard size display box, etc. If we knew for definite the total size of the collection and every single model from 1 through to 110 then there wouldn't be quite so much speculation and debate. Also there'd be a lot less posts in this forum!! And waiting for the next delivery wouldn't be quite such a tease.
I watched Thunderball the other evening and can't wait to see (if they do issue) the Mercedes Ambulance, it will be a really interesting addition to the massive pile of cars accumulating in my study.
Also, just a reminder of post number one by batester2005 in this topic, who stated
"I am opening this topic to find out your good points of view for this collection. it is not here to moan about the collection and it is definately not here to discuss the packaging issue."
I am also looking forward to the Ford Anglia as I took my driving lessons in one of those (yes, I'm an old rhino) and then of the day of the driving test, learnt it just had been written off by another learner and so had to take the test in some kind of Vauxhall estate which seemed massive at the time after the tiny Anglia. Passed first time, BTW, it was 1972. Those were the days!
This collection is superb! I look forward to seeing what is coming up, the speculations , the final tally etc etc. This collection has a big subscription generating a large income for GE Fabbri. They would be foolish to pull the plug on something that is successful. Long may it continue. With all collections there are lows and highs but that is all part of the fun. I remember as a kid as a special treat my dad bought a subscription to a fortnightly magazine called 'War Machine'. Every edition was a surprise featurings tanks, planes, helicopters. I loved it . Every couple a months there was a special with a poster, stickers or special book. The odd issue would disappoint bas it featured an area i was not interested in but overall the collection was worth every penny. i wish i had the collection now. the james bond car collection can be extended and extended again as theere is scope for loads more vehicles not just cars. This would then be/is the definitive james bond 'car'collection. 'Corgi' had a good range but very limited and models have been repackaged time and time again undermining the original each time. these models are great value and can only increase in value as time goes by. keep them coming, 110, 120, 150 who knows but i will stick with it to the end.
The renault and parahawk arrived and are superb, especially the renault. The vehicles like the renault are the collectable ones as they are obscure and probably don't attract the same interest as the usual suspects lotus, astons etc.
Yes i agree it´s a superb collection and why pull the plug on something this succesful . And can´t wait what the rest will be and looks like. I´am about half way i got nr 56 yesterday from my local bookstore (didn´t subscribe ).
No moaning from me- except that since the UK and Europa subscriptions are so far ahead of ours there's not so much surprise as to to what's coming. Very happy with the collection and the fact that it keeps growing.
As I've mentioned before we usually seem to get the left overs from Europe and America in our stores so to be able to complete a collection from start to finish is a rare treat. To those complaining- either get over it or get out of it. Some of us do want this collection to continue.
I am also seriously hoping the 1:8 DB5 is released in Australia.
well, i must admit i tried to sell my collection but thankfully i didnt - i really love it and cant wait to get the whole collection - 110 pieces.
i'm then gona get a dsiplay case made for them !!
Absolutely Fantastic! This caddy is what subscribing to a collection is all about when every so often you get a gem like this. Something slightly obscure but interesting. Likened to the star wars figures. Everybody had darth vader and Luke but not the android seen going about its business in the background of a particular scene. I can't wait for my next issues . Who knows this time next year and the collection may extend again.
I was just sitting watching Never Say Never Again, & I thought we have not had the Bentley that Bond arrived at the Health Farm in..Why! Why!..is it like the Rollers(no! not the Bay City ones!) has Bentley put a block on this model???? -{ :007).............Just had a glance at the Wiki List & there are no vehicles from that movie at all??????.
Yes, GE Fabbri's agreement is with EON Productions/Danjaq so the collection only covers the 22 Bond movies made by that production company, and not the 3 Bond movies made by other production companies (Casino Royale version 1 from 1950s, Casino Royale version 2 from 1967, Never Say Never Again from 1983).
The Osprey 5 Hovercraft from DAD has made an appearance on eBay, although there is no diorama yet:
Looks a bit crap. Hopefully good old kingmodels will prove me wrong.
This will probably be in the same size box as the hearse. I bet that all the people who have waited before making a display cases for this collection are counting their blessings!
thinking about it, a fair few of the up and coming models are mostlikley going to be in this new extra large box.
the 2 hearses, hovercraft, range rover with Horse Box and the lower deck of a Routemaster?

Yep, if the boxes are getting bigger, how about one of these from Living Daylights at 1/43 scale?? It'd be worth it just to see the postie trying to deliver it......

Some good choices there, the 1.43rd hercules would be an amazing model . Even a 1.144th scale would be nice addition to the collection. This would of course open the collection to a full range of aircraft.

For a start . . .
1/144th scale Vulcan (Thunderball), Jetstar (Goldfinger), Space Shuttle (Moonraker), Blimp (View to a Kill), AN-124 (Die Another Day) and DC-3 (Quantum of Solace).
1/72nd scale Tiger Eurocopter (Goldeneye), Flying Car (Man with the Golden Gun), Twin Beech (Octopussy) and Harrier T.10 (Living Daylights).
And then we get into the 1/700th scale ships!
But seriously, I think 110 vehicles is really enough.

Some nice aircraft there, though I think the only real contender as an addition to this collection would be the the shuttle from Moonraker. i know it's not a car but it is up there with the astons and the lotus as being a memorable addition to the James Bond brand.
I like the idea of the suggested bigger vehicles bringing the collection to an end, it would make up for the non existent specials we anticipated at the start.
Anybody hazard a guess of 110 will be. It has to be a special one to conclude the collection. Maybe a set of Rolls royces from various films not seen so far?

Nice set of extras with all these different aircraft I have to admit, but one is missing and that is of course, the MiG 29 Fulcrum - from Goldeneye. I have to say though that this collection has been one hell of a set to collect and well worth the effort. Please keep them coming...
