Well said 'ak007' back up there somewhere, am I glad I didn't fold to domestic pressure to get my display shelves made, this up-coming Cadillac hearse box is a completely new size and maybe wouldn't have fitted!! So I'll continue displaying them in the trusty cardboard box for now!
Anyway, I think it's an exciting new development and hope there'll be more bigger boxes coming. Come to think of it, I think the postman will be bringing the next instalment any day now ...
Banging on a bit, but I'd like to see a paper mache style set piece scale model of the hearse, the moon buggy and the Vegas street all together - the crematorium, the desert, the Vegas lights - in the size of a desk. That would be cool and an ace marketing opportunity for them.
Hi Guys,
Just received issues 88 & 89 (Cadillac Hearse and the Ford Anglia) through the post. Both models, as always are fantastic but they haven't managed to correct the mistake on the Ford Anglia's base!!! It still states that it is seen in the film: - "From Russia With Love" even though the front of the magazine states "Dr. No". Oh dear, how sad, never mind! Will probably have to correct it myself and put a correct label on. Inside the back cover of magazine No.89, is shows that No. 90 will be the "Acrostar Mini Jet". Will be looking forward to that one but would have liked to see it within the horse-box hooked up to the Range Rover as seen in the film Octopussy. Moaning session over - keep them coming... )

Also on the Hearse box they omit the 007 logo on top of the box -{ :007)
I think the Ford Anglia has just become the holy grail of the collection possibly. This is the one that will or should become very valuable especially in years to come as it has been produced with an error. I might just buy an extra and put it away. Can't wait to see the cadillac when i get my delivery. The Acrostar next month looks good also. Is it not the intent that we are getting the range rover and horsebox in a future edition? Hope so. Something to look forward to. as Fulcrum said keep them coming!
Just recieved the ford anglia and the cadillac hearse. As thought in a previous post, the subscription gift - the goldeneye tank will fit into the cadillac box with about half a cm to spare at either end. Also, the base of the cadillac display has the added bonus of being black (to replicate the tarmac streets of St Petersberg. I have a copy of one of the dioramas created for the tank and posted a few pages back in this forum so i'll try and obtain another cadillac in order to display the tank properly. For now, proof the tank fits...
Do you know which page or can you re-post the image. (I know it sounds lazy but it took me ages to find the little nellie background again)
I spoke to GEF today about the Ford Anglia and I'm not alone reporting it - lol. Apparently they are awaiting word from their suppliers.
I can't image they would supply a new model and a base is impractical due to the odd headed screw. Therefore I can only image a sticker will be provided to stick over the incorrect description.
Top looking models and I'm glad they are becoming some of the more obscure vehicles.
I missed the post today so i have to go down to the post office tomorrow morning for the next 2. I am delighted that the tank fits into the new box. Just thought I would remind people of the work of 'Tony Ericsson' who used to post on the forum. http://s676.photobucket.com/albums/vv126/TONY_ERICSSON/?mediafilter=images
Got the latest 2 now, I have also been busy putting together the tank box. Am I the first?
Also i noticed when I took the Cadillac out of its case that it was not made but Universal hobbies like every other issue. This one is made be 'ixo models'. Maybe this is why the hearses have been delayed so many times, maybe Universal hobbies were unwilling to make them for some reason?
Just got off the phone from GE-Fab and they said that not all of the Anglia’s were wrongly labelled but they will get back to me at some point with a replacement. It might well be the case that the correctly labelled one will be worth more in the future then, if you have to request a replacement. They also re-conferment that 110 is the final issue, please let them keep there word!
Just received issue 88 and 89. The cadillac as anticipated superb and the perfect addition to this great collection. the accompanying magazine also has a nice feature about other cadillacs as seeen in Bond movies. Maybe some suitable candidates for future issues.
The Anglia with obvious box error aside is also great model though i do feel it is unfinished lacking detail such as number plates , chrome detail and badges. I may contact GEFAbbri and request a replacement if at all possible.
For those that have received 88 and 89 did you notice the same Dr No poster on the back cover of both issues another error maybe or are they running out of images (i doubt it).

Have I missed out on any gems here?
I would say most are gems as they form part of a collection. There are some obscure models such as the sherpa van not readily available elsewhere that in real life maybe not as exciting as a lotus or aston martin but features in one of the more iconic bond movies. Of course it is down to personal choice, finances and storage/display space. If there is any criticism of the collection is when the same model repeated just in a different setting sauch as the db5. I would prefer the more obscure vehicles rather the more familiar repeated.

For those that have received 88 and 89 did you notice the same Dr No poster on the back cover of both issues
cheers
Yes, Diecast - I noticed this error, having the 'Dr No' poster on the back of issue 88's 'Diamonds Are Forever'.
So, not only was the 'Dr No' model mislabelled with 'From Russia With Love', but issue 88 had a major misprint.
I've also noticed through-out the issues a number of errors - including the previous issue which included a look at 'M'. On the section which looks over the differing MI6 offices through the films, they have mis-labelled the 'Quantum Of Solace' MI6 offices as 'Casino Royale' - there have been many other factual errors also, but can't remember them off-hand.
Despite these, it is a fantastic collection and I've been very pleased with models and issues - shame it has to end soon.
A pity the tank is 1:50 scale. I mounted Little Nellie in a box from the Tuk Tuk. Just swopped it around so that the oranges are at the back and the crated at the front. I juggled with fonts and it was either 9 or 12 and it might have been Arial black. It was bold. That I remember. A lady who knows her way round powerpoint mailed me the wording on a black background and I printed it till it came out right.
The tank IMHO needs some painting like you do with models if you are making it part of your display. The monochrome is too dull. Mine is pointing the barrel straight into the extra Tuk Tuk with JB pointing back at it with a Walther. Just for laughs and not part of the current display.
I collect them all regardless. Some obscure one's I remember from childhood. My dads boss had a Daimler Limo for example and Peugeot 504's were common in my family. Even the Ford Taunus which we called Cortinas in South Africa.
Yeah, sad that we are not even halfway through the collection yet in South Africa. It's going to take until around September 2012 to get all 110 issues - assuming the local distributor continues through until the end, which is only a hope at the moment as their website currently is listing the collection as being 60 issues.
They are a bit slow on the uptake but follow the lead from Fabbri UK. I buy mine from any CNA (WH Smith type shop in the UK)when they arrive as their ordered units look like the dog's breakfast.
They are also distributing the 51 x 1:43 Ferrari's at the moment which I'm also collecting. Number 19 or 20 and should finish more or less with the 007 collection. Another 161 models to get into proper shelving..
I was bored this morning so had a go at the Hispano:
Thing nót on the pic's are the chrome strips on the spare tires, Sir Rog is raised a bit and the "side-steps" , they're supposed to be partially black. The grass/sand also need a slight re-paint, but the overall result so far is satisfying...

This should be easy to adapt to the new size box.

We are due for number 51 on Sunday.
Oh, and I like this thread a lot.

By the way, anyone seen something new yet?
I suppose it depends on what the 'new stuff' is...toys, figures, books, etc.
Or you could always start your own thread....and see where Hardyboy moves it too )
No. 58. you've seen the first pic's a thousand times, i guess..:))
Includes another view of bond's amazing invisibility-coat 8-)
My first modifications, have to wait 'till I've got more time to do the dent's and maybe the door...B-)

So to be continued;)
