This is how Im showing mine at the moment, I intend to continue with the collection, even though I made the mistake of cancelling my subscribtion in favour of the DB5!
    How wrong I was!
Ive tried to re-subscribe, but no go, so its down to back orders only.

They are organized in film order at the moment, but Im fast running out of space, so Im going to have to move my Aston Martin Collection (3 right hand cabinets) to a new location! Sob!

spencer50 - you have well and truly put me to shame! at the risk of sounding like my mum, that must be a nightmare to dust! also I really hope you have some kind of insurance on them! If not then maybe you should have some hight level security system on the doors and windows. Thunderball style eye scanner or something :))

derekaustralia - this list seams far to good to be true (much like spencer50's display). How did you contact them? when ever i have asked them what is coming up in this collection in the past 3 years they have been very reluctant to say anything.

Thank you for the kind words, yes they are itemised & insured.
Dusting them is a little tricky, small brush, keyboard hoover & patience, I dont let the wife dust them, too many broken wing mirrors in the past, but leaving the JB collection in their boxes is a big help.

I phoned the JB centre today to re-subscribe (Hooray) & he wouldnt / couldnt give me any information on forthcoming models. I supose it depends on what part of the organisation you get put through to.
I hope derekaustralia's source is correct, otherwise big dissapointment all round.

4 Rollers still to come? I'll believe that when I see it, sadly.

I was hoping the Lada Niva from TWINE would still make it into the collection - it was certainly more of a "star" than the body-in-the-boot ZiL from CR or the police Ford Consul from DN.

Quite a few cars from figure-less CR in that last batch - but not the Chev Van from Madagascar or the Bahamas Ford Mondeo which you'd think would be higher on the choice list from that film...

I like the idea of a shot-up DBS as the final model in the series - only I would opt for the OHMSS DBS, with the garlands added ... as has been said on this forum before, that was one of the most memorable final scenes in a Bond movie.

Some really great ones methinks (GF Roller and QOS trashed Aston especially) but also a few disappointments - looks like I'm not going to get my Goldfinger Merc chase car with bad guys after all :(

I'll second the comments about Spencer50's display cabinets - amazing!

Ak007 i got the list emailed to me from james bond cars.co.uk after i made a call to their office.the list popped into my inbox 1 hour later .it is real. no worries there.

Spencer..I love youre collection and attention to detail.very tidy work. What lights did you use to light youre display low voltage? low heat?

Movie car fan ... I did what you did last night and searched web for all the new models. I think the ford squire is a great addition. We so needed those main goldfinger cars......well....lol..the bondola ...well thats another story.what will it look like? Maybe an even bigger box for the t55 tank?

this collection complete will be worth money now im sure.I think its deserved..so many times I ve thought ...why did i start this thing... I have never collected before.

I think its pretty complete but i know there are some great cars missing too. maybe we should campaign to have it continued to 200 lol

    just kidding

P.S...I wonder how will the damaged aston compare to miniJeffs work? see http://www.ajb007.co.uk/post/423401/#p423401

The final list looks brilliant . There is still room to extend it come on ge fabbri you are on to a winner here , keep them coming. I have said it before what about the specials ??

This collection is fantastic value for money, I just received a lotus sunbeam corgi 1.43 £12.95. Just over that and you get two models in dioramas with supporting magazines. looking forward to my next delivery.

I'll third the comments about spencer50's display cabinets and whilst not wanting to detract from thiers, I thought I'd add my contribution as to how part of my collection is displayed -

    gRGP9.jpg

    gSeK9.jpg

    pcyXi.jpg

As you can see, its predominantly on open shelving which is a bit of a bugger to dust, but I guess we all have to make little sacrifices. The lighting is provided by 10 ultra low voltage and incredibly low heat (hardly any generated) LED clip on display lights (from B&Q) - see the pics for what they looked like when packaged.

Also spencer, have you got all of the sideshow figures? I have all of the figures apart from the legacy and 1/4 scale ones but dont have them out of their boxes

Firstly, many thanks for all your kind comments, makes taking the time to display them all worthwhile.

The cabinets are all Billy bookcases with glass doors & shelves, the glass doors come with black hardboard inserts that are easily removed.
The lighting is 12 volt LED strips, some from Ikea, but now you can get the same for approx £25 from B+Q, they are 4 strips of white LEDS. Ive also used some 12v LED strips that are available to stick on car headlights (Similar to Audi's) in the smaller wall mounted cabinets.

minigeff, the DBS IS center stage, very proud to show it off to admirers, some people wonder why I have a "dirty & broken" model in my collection!! (Not Bond fans then)

cris_19010689 - Your collection looks really cool too, nicely laid out, you've some items there I'm envious of, but my biggest dilemma is whether I keep the JB models in their cases, or take them out & gain more space!
I have only the 8 Sideshow figures + the custom Daniel Craig head on a old Pierce Brosnan body, the others I'm not to bothered about just yet.

If the 1/8 DB5 model ever gets off the ground, that's going in a glass case on a turntable with Hollywood style miniature lights around the outside. (Hopefully)

I hope Ive answered everyone's questions, once again, thanks for the complements.
  • cris_19010689cris_19010689 Posts: 138MI6 Agent
Personally I would keep the items in the boxes. Yes it gains more space, but then you risk damage and further dust problems - particularly on the internal parts of models.

I have to brush my Icon figures with a small soft paintbrush which is fiddly and takes time to do (especially the resin prototype ones). I have a friend with a laser cutter, so may ask for a custom perspex case to be made for them.

I'm also on the band wagon for the 1/8 scale aston. I dont see why they won't put it into production especially with the hype of the "real" db5 going under the hammer at auction lately.

Got 90 and 91 this morning. Has it really bean a month already? The acrostar seams so big next to my old 1/72 model, and 10x better than the old one no question, another gem in the collection me thinks. also interestingly 92 is to be the LaSalle Hearse from Doctor No, not the Hovercraft as thought. would appear that derekaustralia's list is one the right track, hopefully in that case the 'Decapitated Bus' should arrive with the heasre. Have we ever had two issues in a row that we have no picture of at all?
I would suspect we are due a big influx of new models form ebay any day now!

    HI,
the Left one is - i thínk, NIKKO Aston Martin DBS RC,
    the right one is this Kyosho 1/12 Vanquish, recognisible, apart from the size, to the roof, wich, instead of flying afay on the 1/18 versions, slides back on a rail like in the movie. Hope this helps -{

Great collections everyone, I noticed that Spencer50 and me have about the exact same set-up, only for me it's less room and less stuff...;)

    Hello all,

I have followed this thread for a long time, and really appreciate the comments and news on future releases. I have the whole collection to date and will see it through to the end. In general, I am very pleased with the collection.

I am going to post about two cars with errors that as far as I can see no-one else has picked up on.

The first has to be the most incorrect model in the entire series, the Daimler Super 8 from Quantum of Solace, issue number 70.

It is simply not the car in the film. The car in the film is the X308 generation of Jaguar XJ saloon (the Daimler is a version of the XJ as you probably all know). The X308 is a steel-bodied car built from 1997-2003. Here is one: http://www.jaguar-addict.co.uk/acatalog/jaguar-xj8-for-sale-p.jpg

The model is something completely different, an X350 generation Daimler / Jaguar XJ. This is the aluminium car which replaced the X308 and which was built from 2003 until its 2007 facelift. This is a much bigger car, which has almost nothing in common with the X350 apart from its general Jaguar-type shape. What has happened here is GE Fabbri have re-used the tooling for the X350 that appears at the end of Casino Royale(number 41 in the series, an accurate model of the CR car). Here is an X350 : http://automobilesdeluxe.tv/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/jaguar-x350-640x473.jpg

What is most surprising is that all the photos in magazine no. 70 are of the correct X308 that appears in the film, but the model itself is utterly wrong - just as wrong as if the film car was a Sierra and the model a Mondeo.

The second point concerns the BMW 750il from Tomorrow Never Dies, model no. 15. This is one of my very favourite models as I used to have a car just like it. It is the only model in the entire series that I have modified/ corrected, very carefully. It's fundamentally a good model, but it has easily-corrected errors.

The rear lights are the right shape, but the colours are completely wrong. The E38 7 series in the film (some have clear indicators as my car did) has rear lights with red for the bottom two thirds, and orange turn signals, and white glass reversing lights. This is what they should look like: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/1999_BMW_e38_rear.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tutorgig.com/ed/BMW_E38&usg=__UAqKBX8JYyihNzPlrgRuYf5slGY=&h=1329&w=1768&sz=227&hl=en&start=43&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=L6j0rE92-_luiM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3De38%2B750il%2Bbond%26start%3D40%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox%26rlz%3D1I7GGLL_en%26ndsp%3D20%26tbs%3Disch:1 They are easily corrected - take off the base, remove the lights from the inside so as not to damage them or the paintwork, repaint, wait for the lights to dry, and push them back into place with a tiny blob of Araldite to secure. Easy.

Additionally, the classic BMW grille fitted badly, so I took the car to pieces and pushed out each each kidney shape from the inside and painted them matt black, and then carefully re-painted the silver-chrome grille surrounds to a better standard than they originally were. I also removed the headlights, again pushed out from the inside of the car - easy - and re-painted the orange turn signals on the inside of the glass, as the original pale yellow is all wrong. My model looks a lot better now. I will try and get some pictures of these modest modifications as it makes the car look a lot better.

    Happy collecting!

    @ myhandle:

Another 2 things I corrected on the Beemer, is the black line around the bottom of the car. This one for the accuracy of the car, and I removed the Rockets from the Sunroof and put the sunroof in the closed-position, for better screen accuracy... Will shoot some pic's later this day ;)
