Most of the models are pretty good, especially for £8 with a magazine, including postage - we have never had it so good!
My top ten, which probably shows my interest in 80s and 90s cars fairly clearly:
1) Copper Turbo Esprit with skis. If this cost £40 I would have considered it excellent value. Wonderful.
2) Esprit Submarine. Great execution and display.
3) Aston Martin V8 Vantage (COUPE not shoddy convertible) with skis. Nice wheels.
4) Daimler Limousine. There are not a lot of models of this car, and I have always wanted one (the model). I travelled to a relative's funeral in one of these once, and it was the one bright point in a terrible day. SO spacious inside and a nice straight six sound from the Jaguar engine.
5) BMW 750il (once the rear lights are repainted to resemble the real car). Nice model of an E38 7 series, and the gadgets are all nicely modelled.
6) Range Rover Convertible. £8? How?
7) Acrostar. A small jet plane in a petrol station. I think this is why people watch Bond films; escapism.
8) BMW 518 Polizei. I know the bumpers on the model are more like the M535i, but as a model it's very nice. I like the treatment of the grille with the darkened chrome. I followed one of these E28 5 series cars to the office today, a nice 525e, and the model really does capture the car well.
9) The two Renault 11 taxi models. Great that they made both. These are very good model cars. Anyone who likes Renaults might be interested to know that Universal Hobbies also make a very nice R5 GT Turbo and a Clio Williams, which can sometimes be found on eBay.
10) The DB5 models. These models are the key to the whole collection, as it would have been so easy for the manufacturers to get these very wrong and people would buy them anyway. There are some awful DB5 models out there. These are some of the best. They stand up well to Astons made by Minichamps, Ixo, Vitesse and even the handbuilt SMTS models which are something like 15 times as expensive. The Vanquish and DBS are nice, but they do not compare as well with their Minichams equivalents.
Little Nellie is a beauty, and the Dragon tank is hilarious - a wonderful model of the most amateurish movie prop this side of the flying BMW 6 series in Back to the Future. It's just funny.
"The 1958 Ford Fairlane Skyliner Hardtop Convertible driven by Count Lippe .....
Only problem I had on this model was a small clear glazing panel left at the base of each of the rear roof quarters where I assume there should be 'Skyliner' badges. Is this the same on everybody else's models or did I get a rogue one??
No, mine is like that as well. I wondered about it as well when I received the model but figured that it was supposed to represent a silver panel.
I don't have a favourite as such, but the two models that I have bought the most "spares" of (3 each) were the TB Mustang and the CR Jaguar - I liked their neutral driveway/verge dioramas and have re-used them to display other 1/43 models I have in my collection.
"2. The 1958 Ford Fairlane Skyliner Hardtop Convertible driven by Count Lippe (Yes folks, that's a CONVERTIBLE, not a coupe. Google "Ford Fairlane Skyliner" or better yet, put it into youtube and let your jaw hit the floor.)"
Very interesting thoughts there! Here's a link to one of the Skyliner movies on YouTube:

Yep, you've just identified the only problem. It's easily fixed, fortunately, by just adding some chrome paint.
does anyone know what has happened to the silver cloud 9 (issue 101).......my newsagent kept telling me that it was released on 1 december, but that has not happened............today is 2 december and it still has not arrived........some guys tell me that it has been put back ANOTHER week...........does anyone out there know the truth????:#

hi, thanks for that DOKK.........i have been ringing round today, they should be released either tomorrow(3rd) or saturday(4th) so i am told....we will just have to wait and see i suppose.........can the guy from Fabbri confirm?....there are alot of us waiting for this issue and information has been a bit scarce lately.......apparently, a little bit of snow here in the UK has brought the whole country to a standstill........how very unusual!!!
hi......After MUCH investigation i have found out that the next issue (102 Bondola) will not be released till 26 January....WHAT are they doing to us.........????....
The Bondola will have to be in an extra long case. Unless they only produce 2/3s of the 'car' and the back section of the boat is part of the diorama.
Still looking forward to this though
"The Bondola will have to be in an extra long case. Unless they only produce 2/3s of the 'car' and the back section of the boat is part of the diorama."
Or they could make it 1/50 scale. So long as the figure is also 1/50, it would look nice, but after doing some thinking on the Bondola, it could really either turn out to be...
1) Great, because it's just so strange and, as a model, unintentionally hilarious, a la the Dragon Tank. It's also unique, though, and as a full-blown 1/43 model (which I don't see it being unless they actually release a new case for it), it would possess quite a bit of a "cool" factor, a lot like the Dragon Tank.
2) Terrible, due to making a 1/50 model with 1/43 figure and controls or 1/43 cabin and wheels with 1/50 scale gondola. I've not yet seen this in the JBCC, but I have seen it in several other lines of model cars, including partwork pieces.
Due to scaling, unless they do something like get the details wrong, again, my guess is that this model is going to be either great or terrible with very little inbetween.
By the way, if we're sticking to EON productions (i.e., no 1967 Casino Royale and no NSNA), let's just say the line somehow stayed on for ten more models. Just ten. What would you want them to be and more importantly, why? The RHD 1964 Scaldia-Volga Combi Luxe seen in the parking lot of the clinic in Thunderball is probably my favorite Bond car of all time (The "21" and "22" being my favorite Soviet cars, the third generation grille being my favorite grille, and the export version made for Great Britain having the nicest trim...coming in a close second is Goldfinger's 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Country Squire, a car which I one day hope to own for myself [the general type of car, not the movie car itself...for 22 years, my grandfather's trusty companion for hunting, fishing, and camping]). With that said, the Scaldia was absolutely static, did nothing, and wasn't a part of the plot. Therefore, I would very quickly eliminate it from any consideration for this series (although I would write Ixo and tell them how much they could make a killing off adding it to their Ist Models line...). So, here are my ten...
1. Mercedes-Benz 220 "Ponton" (GF): Yes, I know Minichamps makes one. Yes, I even have that one and I love it. However, from where I'm standing, you have to pay $67 (including shipping, but still $55 without) to get one. Add to this that it was a key part of probably one of the most famous car chases in Bond's cinematic run. Seeing as I already have one, I'm not carping about availability. I just don't get why the people at G.E. Fabbri decided to exclude such a significant Bond car. And face it, are we all diehard enough to shell out 35 GBP to get one?
2. 1961 Chevrolet Series 30 "1-Tonner" (FRWL): This is SPECTRE's flower truck. If you use one of the Ixo cases, it could easily be done. Again, here's a vehicle (which, by the way, looks deceptive large...having seen one in person, they're not THAT big) that played a very significant role in a Bond film AND which is a model you don't see much of to begin with (in its day, the 30 Series was a great all-around utility vehicle if you didn't want to bother with a larger truck like an International Harvester, but you still needed something bigger than just a Chevy or Ford pickup).
3. 1958 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith (FRWL): Another Roller, and probably the most beautiful "stock" Roller that the Bond film franchise has ever seen (I say this because the Phantom III in Goldfinger had modifications to the paint, no whitewall tires, and the aftermarket hubcaps). And it's part of a very significant scene where not only do you see the outside of the car frequently, but the inside as well.
4. 1970 Ford Custom Las Vegas Sheriff's Car (DAF): Although there were several police cars in the famous Mustang chase, the '70 Ford Custom dominated. Add to that I'm fairly sure that the Las Vegas County Sheriff's Office actually used Fords, although I'm fairly sure the LVPD at the time used Plymouth Furys.
5. UAZ-469B/UAZ-3151 (GE) The "Russian Jeep" actually appears in EVERY SINGLE Pierce Brosnan Bond film. Because of this, I think it deserves to appear in its most significant role, that being GE. Ixo already has the moulds for this, by the way, having done one for USSR AvtoLegende, one for Kultowe Auta PRL-u, two for Ist Models, and two for Nash Avtoprom. Of course, I have a fleet of these, but still.
6. 1986 Dodge Ram Pickup (LTK): LTK is really light on vehicles in this series, and the Dodge Ram both looked cool and played a very significant part in the tanker chase (note that I doubt they could get a Kenworth W-900 cab to fit into a case).
7. 1977 Scaldia-Volga M24 Elite (OP) Orlov's other staff car; i.e. the one NOT trashed in the train chase. We get a ton of shots of this car and frankly, since even Soviet General Officers were given GAZ-24's and GAZ-24-10's as staff cars when stationed abroad, it makes WAY more sense for Orlov to have than a Mercedes-Benz (famously banned in East Germany by Erich Honecker as he railed against them in a speech). Unfortunately, have a look at the car's (VERY) visible trunk lid/boot lid and you'll see the word "Volga" in Latin characters, NOT the correct Cyrillic. With that said, would anyone REALLY mind if they corrected such a minor detail to have it read correctly?
8. 1967 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I Two-Door Convertible by Mulliner Park-Ward (OHMSS). Beautiful car, VERY tough to find a good model of, and it played a very significant role in the film.
9. Lada Niva L (TWINE). As I've said, Ixo had made a ton of these and has the moulds. The only error here is that, like Orlov's staff car, this one was made for export to the west (you can tell as Bond goes around back and opens the trunk; before he does, watch the words "LADA NIVA" appear as the car's badging; i.e. in the Latin alphabet, NOT Cyrillic).
10. VAZ-2106 Moscow GAI Police Car (GE): Fortunately, we aren't stuck with the export version here. These were also very well done in general, even the mockups (there were at least two real police cars with dual side mirrors, so they probably had very good "master copies" to make mockups of in the first place). A huge part of the tank chase along with the UAZ-469B's and at least collectively, they get tons of screen time.
I have to agree with you on the Chevy. I was fortunate enough to get a hold of a Chevy C10 Ambulance, and i'm thinking of searching another one to modify thát into the Flower Truck. Some decals, beige paint, grenade damage on the front an no-one's gonna know :v
My personal 111-120 issues:
111: Lincoln Continental Mark VII - Licence To Kill
Would be sweet to have sutch a big, "****-all" american coupe. Maybe parked outside Leiter's.
112: Jaguar XJ-R - Casino Royale
I know, it plays a very small role, but admit it : this would look swéét with Vesper and unconscious Bond on the back seat...
113: Chevrolet Impala - Dr. No
Leiter's car on Jamaica. Looks good, it's a classic, so why not?
114: Chevrolet 1-Ton - From Russia With Love
Explained above...
115: Ford Econoline - Diamonds Are Forever
Dr Metz' transportation. Put the suitcase in the front, Sean in the back and you've got a véry original car.
116: Ford Custom - Diamonds Are Forever
Just like Dalkowski said, we really need a Police cruiser from the epic "race" through 'Vegas
117: Chevrolet Bel Air - Live and Let Die
The one that picks Bond up at JFK airport, driven by charlie. It would complete the duo with the Pimpmobile, and for us do-it-yourselve- nuts,it should be pollible to make a Police from it( or Vice Versa, would love both)
118: lada Niva - The World is Not Enough
Pierce in the back, unconscious Davidov on the ground, perfect.
119: Rolls Royce Silver Shadow I Two-door Convertible - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Fantastic car, and a key scene in the movie. If possible, i would be véry happy. But then again, that counts for any car on my list )
And finally:
120: Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL - For Your Eyes Only
I cannot believe that everyone forgot about this!? It's a very premium-looking car, and part of Roger's strongest moment as 007. Set the dio at the cliff, maybe with a kicking Roger Moore, and you've got an instant favourite. Also, it would make a great ending of a great collection:
"James Bond will return..."
If any one of these could be made, The Merc has been on my list cince I heard about this collection.
I still haven't seen some models in real-life, can't believe there's only 9 more to go...
"115: Ford Econoline - Diamonds Are Forever

Only reason I didn't have this one is because it's listed in the "unconfirmed" 103-110 range and JohnSteed sort of alluded to it being included, despite the seeming changes that were being made.
"120: Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL - For Your Eyes Only

DOH! Okay, replace Orlov's Volga with that.
"I have to agree with you on the Chevy. I was fortunate enough to get a hold of a Chevy C10 Ambulance, and i'm thinking of searching another one to modify thát into the Flower Truck."
Your best bet is to take an Ertl 1/43 scale truck cab and go from there, building your own cargo bed over the trailer hook-up assemblies. The Ertl cab isn't that detailed, but is detailed enough, frankly. A paintbrush and some paint would do wonders here.
Or they could make it 1/50 scale. So long as the figure is also 1/50, it would look nice, but after doing some thinking on the Bondola, it could really either turn out to be...
It would be kind of annoying having one in a differing scale to the rest. We were promised 1/43 when it began, so we should get a uniform size throuhout
A couple I'd like to see (in the unlikely event of further issues) would be:
Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL - For Your Eyes Only,
Stacy's Jeep - A View To a Kill
Sawn off double decker bus - Live and Let Die (cancelled due to 'London bombings' allegedly),
Eric Kriegler's Yamaha 500 XT - For Your Eyes Only,
Kenworth Truck - Licence to Kill (not going to happen due to size),
Daniel Craig in Wheelchair - Casino Royale
"It would be kind of annoying having one in a differing scale to the rest. We were promised 1/43 when it began, so we should get a uniform size throuhout"
Not quite. Recall that the tank (admittedly a gift, but still) is 1/50 scale.
I have to agree with the Lincoln MkVII and Dodge Ram (on fire) from Licence to Kill.
So that's my 1 and 2.
3) BMW R1200 bike from Tomorrow Never Dies
4) Rolls Royce Drophead Mulliner (proto-Corniche) from OHMSS
5) Kamal Khan's Rolls Royce Phantom III from Octopussy
6) Small submarine from The Spy Who Loved Me
7) Wetbike from The Spy Who Loved Me
8) Ford Mondeo, Casino Royale
9) Mercedes S Class Type W140, Goldeneye, at demonstration of the Eurocopter
10) Another DB5 - from Casino Royale, with no gadgets.
What is clear is that if they made about a further 25 models there would be very little left to make at all.
And one further idea that would really challenge the modelmakers, but if executed well would be superb : The invisible Aston Martin Vanquish (we call it the Vanish).
I wonder how this could be done (and no, an empty box is not what I have in mind). I think can think of two possibilities. Both would attempt to replicate the scene in the London Underground where the car starts to appear.
1) Chrome plating the entire car and then printing some elements of the background (just lines) onto the chrome.
2) Moulding the entire car out of clear plastic, and then printing some shimmering lines onto the plastic.
The more I think about this the more I want it.
There is a Malaysian company called Ban Seng models that make limited run, high end models of concept cars. They have a technique which could be used here. Their cars are made out of clear plastic and then painted. The effect is very, very effective.
Re- The Chevrolet Flower truck from FRWLove, I have one that Corgi Toys did as part of their earlier James Bond car range either in 2002 or a bit earlier.
Only trouble was that the back was empty-no flowers or Tania figure.
I'm still hoping for Draco's OHMSS Rolls Royce blue convertible.
this is an odd choice - but i'd love the milkfloat from living daylights...
dont ask me why - just think it would be a different addition to the collection...

Now thát could be a fun line-up:
Aston martin, Aston Martin, Lotus, BMW, Daimler, Mini, Land Rover, Milk truck, Aston Martin, (....)
)
Besides: I've checked the IMCDB-pages, and apart from some of the cars posted here, there's véry little left, only the cars like above mentioned Mondeo or the Mercedes, cars that have little to no use at all. Other possibilities would be the Volvo S50 and a couple of other cars that have about 15- 40 seconds of screentime...
About the vanquish: that wóuld be fun, but i wouldn't pay 12,99 for a piece of plastic. I'd rather make my own metro station-section and tell people that it's réally in there
"8. 1967 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I Two-Door Convertible by Mulliner Park-Ward (OHMSS). Beautiful car, VERY tough to find a good model of, and it played a very significant role in the film."
Seeing as EVERYONE mentioned this particular Roller, I would hope that when Mr. Steed sort of announced more Rolls-Royces than we were expecting, he was referring to THIS car. Coming in second in terms of near-universal agreement would seem to be a draw between the Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL and Chevrolet Series 30 "1-tonner."
Seeing as EVERYONE mentioned this particular Roller, I would hope that when Mr. Steed sort of announced more Rolls-Royces than we were expecting, he was referring to THIS car.
I'm crossing every finger, but i'm afraid they found out that thay can use the TWINE SS-mould for TMWTGG, FYEO, as well as LTK... After all, it's still a profit-run (correct english?) organisation...
From the previous posts, it would seem that it's all about the cars rather than the role they played in a movie. I tend to lean to the more interesting/unusual subjects that are important to the movie when I think about another 10. That said, I could only come up with 8:
1973 Chevrolet Impala (LALD) (Sheriff J W Pepper’s police car). I'd accept 1973 Chevrolet Bel Air (Louisiana State Police).
Zamboni (FYEO). Just because it's unusual.
1942 Dodge WC 51 (TLD). This is the military vehicle Bond chases down the Hercules in.
1986 Wales & Edwards Rangemaster (TLD) - the milk truck!
1986 Dodge Ram or 1976 Jeep CJ-7 (LTK). I'd prefer the Dodge Ram but I'd take either or both.
Utilimaster Aeromaster (LTK). The security truck that Sanchez escapes from in Florida.
International 4900 (CR). Airport tanker.
And the 1961 Chevrolet 1-Ton (FRWL) would be nice. Isn't the Corgi version 1/43?
"1942 Dodge WC 51 (TLD). This is the military vehicle Bond chases down the Hercules in."
No, it wasn't. He chased it down in the already-issued, near-universally-panned Land Rover Lightweight. The WC 51 mocked up to be an UAZ-469 of some kind was the vehicle briefly seen driven by Koskov while Necros shot at the plane. It actually played a very minor role. Of anything, judging by pure role/importance to the plot/screen time, the UAZ-469B's seen in GE have probably been more overlooked than anything else. As for the Zamboni, you can get one in 1/43. I don't remember who makes it, but I got one very cheaply off eBay a couple years back. Despite its oddity, I see no need for it.
"1973 Chevrolet Impala (LALD) (Sheriff J W Pepper’s police car). I'd accept 1973 Chevrolet Bel Air (Louisiana State Police)."
Thing is, the DAF 1970 Ford Custom LV Sheriff's Dept. Patrol Car both got more screen time and had more significance to the plot. Recall that Sheriff Pepper actually uses two cars, neither of which is a direct chase car (i.e. directly chasing Bond, who is driving a boat) and are chasing Bond intermittently. In DAF, you have the '70 Ford constantly (with the exception of the parking lot scene) and directly after Bond and Tiffany's Mustang until the LV Sheriff flips it trying to pull the same stunt Bond did.
Still, the Utilimaster Aeromaster van is a good idea.
"I'm crossing every finger, but i'm afraid they found out that thay can use the TWINE SS-mould for TMWTGG, FYEO, as well as LTK... After all, it's still a profit-run (correct english?) organisation..."
The reason I really, REALLY doubt they do (at least to the level you suggest...I wouldn't be surprised if they do ONE mould-shared Roller, which my guess would be the LTK Roller) is simply because of the excessive delays between models. That shows new construction/fabrication of moulds, generally. If you had that kind of mould-sharing in place where they did four Rollers based on the same mould, you'd be seeing cars released almost every week.
I have to agree with the Lincoln MkVII and Dodge Ram (on fire) from Licence to Kill.
So that's my 1 and 2.

Including the above and the many other suggestions. This collection has legs and could continue beyond 110. Maybe just maybe . I have said before a few times this is a fantastic income for GE Fabbri especially in the financial climate we are in. I think it would foolish to stop such a lucrative subscription based collection. Many collections falter and are never completed as people lose interest . This one is holding everyones attention so they should keep it going .
I've watched QOS a couple of times this week and theres one scene where 007 goes back to his hotel in Bolivia and is stripped of his gun etc... by M and a few colleagues, he then escapes and Camille picks him up in a battered old VW Beetle - i'd like to have that in the collection !!!
I agree with Diecast007, this collection could run and run - which would be great - but I suppose a collection has to end at some point, otherwise, no-one will ever have the complete set !!

3. 1958 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith (FRWL): Another Roller, and probably the most beautiful "stock" Roller that the Bond film franchise has ever seen (I say this because the Phantom III in Goldfinger had modifications to the paint, no whitewall tires, and the aftermarket hubcaps).
Dr Metz' transportation. Put the suitcase in the front, Sean in the back and you've got a véry original car."
Only reason I didn't have this one is because it's listed in the "unconfirmed" 103-110 range and JohnSteed sort of alluded to it being included, despite the seeming changes that were being made.

Not quite. Recall that the tank (admittedly a gift, but still) is 1/50 scale.
Only trouble was that the back was empty-no flowers or Tania figure.
I'm still hoping for Draco's OHMSS Rolls Royce blue convertible.
Bleuville.
dont ask me why - just think it would be a different addition to the collection...
Aston martin, Aston Martin, Lotus, BMW, Daimler, Mini, Land Rover, Milk truck, Aston Martin, (....)
)
I'd rather make my own metro station-section and tell people that it's réally in there
Seeing as EVERYONE mentioned this particular Roller, I would hope that when Mr. Steed sort of announced more Rolls-Royces than we were expecting, he was referring to THIS car. Coming in second in terms of near-universal agreement would seem to be a draw between the Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL and Chevrolet Series 30 "1-tonner."
I'm crossing every finger, but i'm afraid they found out that thay can use the TWINE SS-mould for TMWTGG, FYEO, as well as LTK... After all, it's still a profit-run (correct english?) organisation...
Jim
What, no love for Professor Joe's Taylor-Dunn Golfcart in LTK? Or Q's rocket-firing wheelchair in GE? )
