Sebastien Foucan's cell phone

Can anyone tell me what model cell phone the bomb maker Mollaka (Sebastien Foucan) from the Madagascar sequence uses? I know it's a Nokia, but can't recall the model.

I think it was an older style Ericson looking at the 3 slashes for the earpiece.

    But I could be wrong.

Wouldn't it be cool though if it was the same model that Brozzer used to drive his BMW in TND?

Has anyone correctly identified this yet?

Well almost certain it's the Nokia 8801.

Ian, what model was the phone that Brosnan did use?

    Rather cool phone that!

Brozzer's phone was called something thike the Ericson JB007. It was a custom made phone specially for the film and not based on an existing model. I remember seeing a picture of it in a magazine with the JB007 serial number on the bottom.

As to Foucan's phone it is definitely an ericson, but I can't remember what model. My friend works in a phone shop so I shall ask him today. He did tell me a while ago, but I forgot. But it is not a Nokia.

excellent, I have one of these. Its the same phone Halle Berry used in DAD.
  • IanT007IanT007 Posts: 117MI6 Agent
I think Halle Berry's was the SONY Ericsson T68i. Slightly different as Sony had now put their name to it. The phone then lost its trademark 3 slashes on the earpiece.

I need to get out more.

It's definetly not the T68 Ericsson. I am no mob. phone expert, but I'd rather put it to the Nokia family. It appears to me more like a relative to the Nokia 6210.

Yeah, its certainly a Nokia, that's why they destroyed all trace of logos and trademarks. If it had been Sony, the logo would be there.

Ah, but it wasn't a sony, it was a plain Ericsson. It was one of the pre SONY Ericsson models.

It certainly wasnt a Nokia because it has the 3 slashes for the earpiece which was an Ericsson trademark. Even though the Nokia does appear to have these marks.

Damn it! You really are forcing me to watch Casino Royale now and find more evidence to suport my claim arent you?:D

    Nokia 6210

Sorry, IanT007, you are not correct.

The Ericsson T68 has been marketed later as Sony-Ericsson T68i with a very similar body, but that is not, what we see on Casino Royale, 100% sure!

As you can see on the pic, the Nokia also have the 3 slashes.

But the Nokia 8801 guess is also wrong.

    guys....could you both be wrong?...

i've created this "image".....just in case Eon are watching...B-)

    nokiaorsony.jpg

it should be familiar...and though the artwork is aweful, it's clear to see this isn't a nokia...the keys are all wrong..

but it isn't the t68 or t68i either...the area around between the screen and the keys are clearly different ...

actually, i had an old Nokia i'm sure looked like this one..but it was 6-7 yrs ago..can't remember what it was called...

but i'd say this is a sony....

I'm convinced that it is an early Ericsson, before Sony came on board. The closest I found to it yet was a T65.
Look at the button above the 1 key. That is a typical Ericsson "yes" key for answering the calls.

I have an old Ericsson in my garage that I had to stop using cos I stood on it. ;%

When I get chance I will have a look at that and compare it. Mine had an aerial but it would be possible for the props dept to make this particular phone out of an old one and just "anonomise" it a bit.

    Yes, I made anonomise up.

What can I do now? My life is a void without spending hours on Google looking at mobile phones.

Find me something else to identify.:D

Well, since you offered, how about the cell phone that Alex Dimitrios used? By the way, does anyone know if the defibrillator Bond used exists or is it just something that the Prop's department made for the movie? I looked around a bit, but couldn't find anything even closely resembling it. Not that I could afford it if it did. Some of them run around $2000 or more!

I can't believe a defibrilator exists in that size at the moment. I think I have seen someone making a replica of it on here though. I would guess it was Mantis but maybe wrong.
  • DEVONKNIGHTDEVONKNIGHT CanadaPosts: 100MI6 Agent
Actually there are difibrillator's that come that small. They're called Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Here's a few examples of them:
