Following Dimitrios to the airport... or museum??

Remember the scene where Bond made love with Alex Dimitrios' (the guy who lost his Aston Martin to Bond in cards) wife? During that scene, she answered the phone to acknowledge that Dimitrios was headed to the Miami Airport. However, upon hearing this, Bond didn't go to the airport.. He went to a museum opening of some sort. How then did Bond know to go to that "Body World" museum thing to find him there?? Also, going to the museum, Bond was seen driving his new Aston Martin, but immediately the scene cuts to a taxi where Bond is seen riding in back. How'd he hop from his new 1964 Bond car to the back of a cab and why? If he had to hide the Aston Martin and take a cab instead, where would he hide it?

Exactly. As the viewer, we are supposed to assume that Bond caught the same flight as Dimitrios from the Bahamas to Miami and then tailed him in a separate taxi to the Body Worlds exhibit. There is no real need to see Bond arrive at the Bahamian airport or seated on the flight itself.
However, I find it rather interesting that Dimitrios chooses Body Worlds as his rendezvous point with Carlos when Carlos returns to the very airport where Dimitrios arrived in order to do his job. Why couldn't Dimitrios make the drop at or around the airport? ?:)

Welcome to AJB, tarumizu {[] We're glad to have you aboard...
Lovely islands you have there ...my uncle lived in Wahiawa, and I still have some extended family there on Oahu...
To answer your question...what we have here is a pretty slick---and, in my opinion, effective---'jump cut,' which quickly moves the narrative forward, admittedly skipping a few points...but when we see that both Bond and Dimitrios are in separate vehicles, and the Miami signs are visible, we're essentially being expected to remember Solange talking about her husband going to Miami.
Once again, welcome! :007)
EDIT: Uh...yeah. What Tee Hee said ;%
P.S. Perhaps 'match cut' would be more to the point, since the two different scenes being paired together match up...the Aston going down the drive versus the taxi going along the highway...

Back on topic, while I can accept that the two might want to meet at a different location than the airport in the event they are being watched, I'm a little less so in my understanding of the timing of everything. Assuming Bond is on the same plane without being seen is a bit of a stretch (though one gets from the way that Dimitrios catches Bond at the exhibit that he might have been on to him for some time), but I can let that one by. What I don't get is why the exhibit is open so late at night, unless it's typical for such things to be available in Miami, as it's a tourist destination. If that is the case, then my concern, of course, is moot.
Off topic again -- I'm going to Daytona in June . . . anything I have to see?
Maybe Dimitrios didnt want to be near the airport in case anything went wrong? Does Maimi have two airports? (that's probably a stretch.) I also thought that a long period of time passed in that 12 minutes. It was the last flight to Maimi - probably at 9 or so that evening, but then that would place the skyfleet launch at an odd time, presumably closer to midnight/2 am. I thought that plane being taxied out was at 5 am or so, getting it ready for a 9 am press gathering.
Not so much a stretch considering the plane Bond arrived in the Bahamas on probably flew out of a smaller regional airport in Miami. Many large cities have smaller airports for short flights.

Yes; that does all seem odd when you think about it- the airport is very busy for that time at night; don't airports usually shut at night to prevent the neighbours complaining? Of course it all depends what time the last flight to Miami is, but if it's, say, seven or eight o'clock; that does mean Bond's poker match took place at a very early hour: bit early to be drinking, James!
No- I don't think so; there's certainly a lot of worrying about night-flights from Heathrow; I don't think they start until 6am or so. I think they stop landings at midnight or 1 or something.
there might be a lull at around 3 o'clock, but you wouldn't get it empty.
this is me talking about the big British International Airports, I've never landed at an American Airport in the evening or early morning so I can't really talk about them.
Oh, come on, that was so cool!
Yeah- you're right, but I mean there are plenty of aircraft taking off and landing- Bond only narrowly misses being hit by a great big 747!
So what time was it? Very early in the morning about 3 AM? A little too late for a crowded exhibit and a little too early for the media to be on the scene for a press event. I prefer to think that the airport sequence is early morning hours, only because of the incident with the passenger bus that is struck and explodes. I'd hate to think that several innocent passengers on the bus died in a fiery explosion so that Bond could save the fate of an empty plane. I prefer to think that the bus was empty due to the early morning hours.
Close, if it were going out to pick up passengers from a plane that had just arrived, but could only get a park at a place away from the terminal.
And it wasn't just an empty plane - it was $100 Million worth of terrorist dollars.
Yes I suppose if it was early morning the airport would have lots of planes taking off and landing, although as to why the Body Worlds things would be so crowded...
And unfortunately there were passengers on that bus! One of the behind the scenes shows, I think it was Fifth Gear, showed them doing this stunt (they even had to redo it because the bus exploded slightly before the tanker hit it the first time) and they showed some cameras which were set up onboard the bus- there were dummies placed in there which were supposed to be real people!
Just because Bond has a licence to kill doesn't mean anyone can die without repurcussions.
Not to mention the plane only misses Bond cos of an alert pilot...
So, to save a big prototype going up, Bond winds up killing passengers on bus and potentially a whole plane load of people. Imagine telling that to the loved ones... oh, we saved an empty plane and part of a stock market... and some 'terrorists' from getting really rich... 8-)

Heh- true, but to fair to Bond he is trying to stop the tanker altogether; he wasn't really responsible for all of the things the driver hit!
And after all, he knows that if the prototype goes up, proper big nasty terrorists will be funded, probably leading to the deaths of many, many innocents- it's a tricky job he's got!
