No it isn't. The shot at the end of the trailer really isn't very clear, even with high-def video. But you see earlier in the video, at time 1:12, when he drops the PPK it isn't supressed.
No the PPK isn't suppressed in that scene, the villains is though. It would be a major spoiler if I told you what it was
Has anyone seen the new site for the QOS game? If you look at the weapons, there is only one handgun there, and I am 99% positive that it is a Glock 17. No Walther's at all. Weird!
I've seen the photos you're talking about and Bond is definately holding a p99, but the pistol in the weapons list is most certainly a Glock 17. They even call it a GF-17. I am very confused!

Now that we've all see the trailer (and if you haven't, go watch it), what guns are there? I can't make out any of the pistols - the cuts are just too fast.
Anybody? Especially interested in the one he cocks at the beginning.
The pistol Bond cocks in the beginning is a Glock 17. I was pretty sure of that but it also looks like a Sig Sauer P226. In that case it´s logically beacuse Craig use a sig p226 on a photo.
It's not a Glock. Major giveaway there is the presence of a hammer, it's definately a SIG.
Its all individual choice and Im not a gun pro. But, I do have military experience, so I know firearms pretty well.
Sigs are used by, amongst others; UK special forces, US special forces, US secret service, FBI (although they are mostly Glocks), US CG, US Air Marshals and many others. P99 is not used by anyone I can think of.
And most of all, I spent my own hard earned cash on Sigs, not a P99, despite being a gun guy and a massive 007 fan.
There's also a snubby concealed in a briefcase, Bond using a BHP across a rooftop, and the end shows him swinging and picking up a heavily suppressed PPK. No P99 or PPS at all are featured in the teaser, so us gun nuts have learned nothing. The SIG does appear to be a stolen or appropriated pistol though, taken after or during a fight. Hopefully we'll see the PPK under Olga's picture in the briefcase next to the revolver, that would be a nice nod to Fleming.
The answers to Revilo's questions, have, as usual, already been answered 8-)

You are absolutely right about it being individual choice, because that is all it is. The two guns are different, so it is hard to have an argument about which is better. Although the reasoning behind a vast number of government agencies and military units using the Sig comes down to two very simple elements. 1. The Sig has an external safety, which is a requirement for most units/agencies, while the Glock does not nor does a P99. And #2. HKs are too damned expensive.
Sigs do not have external safeties. Also, most H&K pistols are about the same price as Sigs, with the exception of the H&K Mark 23, and most of them do have external safeties.

US Navy Seals use the Sig, S.A.S use it, the UK:s military has began to use it more and more.
I thought FBI uses the Glock 19, just in movies Glock 17?
Actually FBI uses the GLOCK G23 & G22 in .40 caliber... bigger holes in the target.
When it comes to firearm choice by a service keep in mind that it is rarely the individual in the field that chooses. The selection of a firearm is based not only on reliability but price and politics. SIG won a huge contract with U.S. Homeland Security recently so most of our feds will be carrying them regardless of personal preference. The SIG is a great pistol, the GLOCK is too if you don't mind a trigger that feels like it belongs on a water-gun. But if you are going to choose a pistol based on what the military and law enforcement is carrying you might as well buy a Ford Crown Victoria as your vehicle because that's what they drive in the U.S. Me, I like Porsches and Walthers.
That's a publicity shot from "Casino Royale", they used a stainless pistol for a couple of the sessions.
So far the PPK used in QOS appears to be a genuine Walther, not the stainless Interarms or Smith & Wesson. The "real" Walther PPK was never available in stailess steel.
The Interarms was a fine pistol, but is now out of print. The S&W has alot of quality issues and Bond would be best to avoid that pistol.
Went to the Cinema today and saw the QOS trailer, so having thus "contaminated" myself, got home and watched it again a couple of times.
Glad to see a shot of Vesper in the mix. But concerning firearms, I managed to hit the "pause button" as the briefcase opens and was able to identify the "snub nose" as a Blued Smith & Wesson Model 36 Chief's Special with a Hogue Bantam Grip. Too bad it is not the Centennial Model, but it is about as close as you can get.
It would be interesting if we got a nod to the literary "Dr. No" and the Armorer issued Bond a Walther PPK and S&W .38. However I really doubt it will happen like that. So far I don't think we've even been able to confirm that it's Bond's briefcase or revolver.
The briefcase has Olga's phot in it.... not sure what to make of that.
Looks like there will be alot of small arms in this film, something to fit everyone's taste.
I like the idea of Bond using firearms aquired from the bad guys, like the Hi-Power he steals from the Ambassador in Casino Royale. Seems more "real life" to me. So if his issue pistol is the Walther, and it only makes one scene - that will do it for me.
Still that snubby makes me hopeful that one day the cinema Bond will pick up the S&W Centennial. It made it into the hands of a bad guy in "Thunderball", but so far that's as close as it has been to Bond.
I guess that's okay as Both T.V.'s Maxwell Smart and John Steed packed the Centennial.
I think the new Maxwell Smart uses a SIG P228. You know, a SIG, the greatest weapon ever created... I heard they are all forged by hand by Chuck Norris.
I still need to see the movie, but in all the screen shots i have seen Maxwell Smart's gun appears to be a full size P226. Forged by Chuck Norris or not, i still wouldn't buy one.
The new Maxwell Smart did use the full size 226...
I know this because having paid to see "Get Smart" it was necessary to sneak around the cineplex into a theatre playing "Hancock" to catch the oo7 trailer.
I was pretty excited about "Get Smart" at first, but the more I saw about it the more it looked like something to wait for on DVD.
226 it is then. I'm really not a fanatic you know. I do like my SIG, it's a P220 in .45 though.
My airsoft PPS came in the mail today (the real ones haven't hit any local gun stores) and I now have a pretty good idea why Bond isn't using it (also glad I didn't buy a real one sight unseen). If one cut a bit off the slide and butt of a new P99 and then flattened it out to about an inch without any regard for ergonomics, that's the dimensions. I'm sure it's a fine back-up pistol to carry often and seldom shoot, but I'd hate to think what my hand would look like after a day at the range shooting 9mms, or worse .40cals, from something with the same grip as my cell phone.
I have heard the PPS is a great pistol, but like alot of our overseas friends, the California laws prevent us from bringing the new Walther into our state.
So if it doesn't show up in a Bond flick, that's good as it gives us some time to get the laws straightened out.

Hmmmmmm I can smell good old Revilo 94 here :v

Good luck with that! I live in the bible-belt (Kentucky) where we can have as many guns as we want. And it's a good thing, because if I try to buy liquor on Sunday they'll send a lynch-mob after me and I'll need the guns:)

The real versions are really comfortable to use with ergonomics surprising similar to the P99. I don't know what difference they've made to the airsoft one, but the use and feel of the PPS is completely different to how it actually looks. Plus it isn't forged by Chuck Norris, it's forged by Andy McNab
Apocrypha23, the PPS has very little recoil and is quite comfortable in hand. Coming from someone who carries every day I can say it is a nice gun. It has a great trigger pull as well, especially after some smithing. I usually carry a 1911, but in the summer it is nice to carry something lighter and smaller.

This comes from the best possible source, so, I'd assume, that the SIG is a pickup.

As long as it's legal to mix up Vespers on Sunday, I could live with that.
