I too am trying to find this shirt, I have found that a square hem long sleeve dress shirt is a bit hard to find, ANYBODY, MANTIS???

You could always purchase a black, plain back, no pocket shirt with black buttons and have the bottom hemmed square. A good tailor could easily do this for around $10-15. Would everone say that the shirt appears to be black cotton?

The shirt does have a pocket and as shocking as this may be the shirt was made of polyester (shudders)...

Yes, the shirt was a last minute replacement by the wardrobe group and was an off the shelf shirt. Out of respect to the individual that provided this information I would like to ask him if I can publicly post the maker etc...

I knew it wasn't linen... it looks nicer than polyester

Polyester chafes your nipples, sartorial badness, satanistic sartorialism, sartorial sadism... it's just SO wrong......

Even so, I'm sure we would all like to know who made it.....

    Hell, I'd buy one anyway.

OK, for what it is worth:

Alfani 100% polyester shirt, breast pocket, Made in Vietnam/ WPL 8046

Yes, yes.....I was as shocked as all of you. I assure you the shirt does NOT look like polyester...it looks like a combed cotton/velvet in real life. The shirt is cut square along the bottom with a notch at left and right hip. If you look at BluRay or even good pics of it you can see the pocket....

Mantis, how in the hell do you find out about these things? Its absolutely amazing. I cant believe that they had Bond wearing Alfani, although I strangely still want the shirt! Anyone have a source? While we are racking your brain Mantis, any clue as to the source of the whiskey decanter and glasses that Bond uses in the hotel room? They are very classic.

I'd also like to get ahold of one, if possible.

So my question is: What colour is it? Is it black or navy? Nice work Mantis!

I suggest some of you get down to a local Macys and see if you can find any of them.

Buy as many as you can becuse everyonr here will want one to go with their Ted Baker pants

Looks like a nice shirt, not 'exactly' the same but would certainly go well with the pants.

I live in FL to and as long as your not standing in the sun all day you can get away with long sleeve shirts, if Bonda can do it in teh bahamas....

Sruzgar, where in FL are you at? Tampa here. Bahamas has a better/cooler trade wind that we do. :)

How about this Alfani shirt, long sleeve, silk, with a modest pocket. Color in oxford black looks very close to what he wore on the Bahamas Casino and the price is sweet. Here is the URL.

It looks to me a match to me but will need to see in person to know for sure. Thoughts?

To be honest the silk shirt has many differences....I will post pics of the shirt used...the only way I can describe is it has a sort of combed velvety look to it...

I picked up one of the silk shirts and am very happy with it. Could not pass the $20 out the door price tag either.

It is very deep natural black. I compared them to the Cotton Fitted and the Cotton iron-free and I liked this much better. Just better quality. It is not very shiny like silk can get but in the light you know it is either silk or linen. It is not THIN material, not very see-through as some silk or linen shirts might be. But it does breath and you can feel the confort of the soft silk against you. Feels perfect for the warm Bahamas night. The collar is pointly but you can make it a little more casual by removing the collar bars. Buttons are black, mother of pearl shiny but small like those on a tux. It has a pocket but nicely sown to the shirt. It is a dress shirt so to casual it, you will need to tailor a straight bottom but considering you only paid $20, that is a no brainer. I would not be surprised if Bond used this exact shirt but had it tailored casual.

As for those living in the US and have a Macy's near them. Run before these sell out.

Anyone who might be interested, I can try to help you get these. Let me know your shirt size as the quantities of the one Macy's I went to was limited.

You wouldn't happen to have access to more, would you, Mantis? In either color.
